He is real but its been a long time since I've seen a real one from the 80s the ones I've seen on eBay are fakes from what I've seen.

As has been said before we can no longer rely on peoples' memories we need hard evidence. To date the only promotion that has been confirmed that has tied Wonderbread with Masters of the Universe is the trading cards and examples of the bag of bread with the offer for the cards has been found. There are no bags known to have any other offer. The small axe that matches the Castle Grayskull weapons rack is not brown but maroon and is verified to have come from Man-E-Faces with addition weapons offer (dubbed Man-E-Weapons by collectors) and so far from nowhere else.

The eyebrows seems to be painted in the same way as my WB he-man.
Also got an 81 from Taiwan, same body structure.

Thanks for the info it seems to fit with all the things everyone has said on here and he does not seem to be repainted, I have a fake one I got for like 25 quid a bit back and this one seems to tick all the boxes of things to look for just wanted some other collectors opinions.

does anyone know for SURE what he came with? I am hearing different things, and some say he didnt even have a chest plate. I want to try and complete mine before I sell.

I am almost completely sure he came with a brown axe, brown mace, and a black Zodac chestplate. Kind of like Wun-Dar!

Those weapons are from a version of Man-E-Faces nicked named Man-E-Weapons and the vest is from a weapons pack.

the prototype weapons pak also featured these maroon weapons. It is a hard to find image and i would be glad to see it again if someone would post it

Could this shield be from that prototype weapons pack, since it is photographed with Stridor prototype?

Looks legit to me but check paint around the neck and body, if you find anything brown or a different shade you have to be careful.

Arkangel mentioned picture of prototype weapons pack, that's why I posted that picture. I know about Man-E-Weapons, I have some of those (not all) maroon weapons.

I had one of each but when I got them they was busted. I sent them back along with a note asking for replacements but never got anything. I then sent to other letters and still no response so I gave up.

Cool video but I have to disagree with the convention giveaway idea. That's because when I grew up I knew 2 kids that had Savage He-Man (of course I cannot prove this, I only have my memory to go on

). The figure boggled me back then. I had every MOTU toy in the line except 9 items (not counting un-released or overseas items) and this figure. I just assumed it was a knock off He-Man toy and didn't care too much about owning it. The figure I saw the most belonged to my best friend at the time. His family was not well off and he had very few toys. That leads me to believe some kind of giveaway promo idea a little more. Sadly, the other kid I knew that had one died along with 2-3 of his siblings in a house fire.

Is there any kind of info that lists where most of the Savage He-Mans are surfacing? These 2 toys/kids were in Louisville, Kentucky.

It’s fascinating to go back to the start of this thread and read the first few posts. Crazy that after 92 pages, we’re still no closer to learning the truth.

I own a custom repaint personally which cost me virtually nothing, though bears close enough resemblance to keep me satisfied. Would love to see the real thing one day.
