    1.Silver Spoons
    2.Facts of Life
    3.Punky Brewster
    4.Gimme a Break
    5. well it's a Britcom Are you Being Served?

I honestly don't remember any of them and doubt that I could sit through any of them now.

I watched a lot of shows. Silver spoons, punky brewster, facts of life, give me a break, cheers, night court & cosby. To be honest forgot about most of them.

I'm not sure if they would hold up today or if could sit through them.

    additional:
    diff'rent strokes.
    (however it was spelled)

    additional 2:Married.....with children
    (comic book was good to.

    additional 3:
As this thread goes along I keep on remembering shows I used to watch also.
Shows like alf, 227, the jeffersons, carol burnett, golden girls, mama's family & all in the family. though i'm not sure if all of those are classified as 80's shows.

Since I could be adding in shows that are not 80's going to toss in Munsters and addams family. reruns only?

    Hmm. drew carey was 90's

watched reruns of Gilligan's Island and beverly hillbillies

Cosby Show, at least the earlier years.

    Married... With Children.

Night Court, though strangely I never really accepted it as a sitcom.

I'm not too big into 80s sitcoms. I prefer I Love Lucy, Honeymooners and CENSORED Van NAUGHTY WORD

Cosby, Cheers and Married with Children yeah those were classics they still show them today you really don't see much of the others anymore maybe on dvd some complete others still waiting to be released if ever. Also other mentions ALF is on the HUB that had its moments. They just announced a Mama's Family complete series release dvd.

I didn't get to watch much tv since I grew up on a farm, but I do remember enjoying several shows when I was able to catch an episode here and there:

    • Seinfeld (started in 1989)
    • Cosby Show
    • Family Ties
    • Diff'rent Strokes
    • Who's the Boss
    • Growing Pains
    • ALF
    • Silver Spoons
    • Punky Brewster
    • Webster
    • Full House
    • Perfect Strangers
    • Family Matters
    • Three's Company
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

Does M.A.S.H. count as a sitcom? That and Cheers, Slegde Hammer, and Perfect Strangers were what I watched with regularity, though I did periodically watch Alf, Full House, and Family Matters. Also, there was this show that lasted one season I think called the Charmings that I liked as a kid, but which seems to have fallen off of everyone's radar...probably happened while it was still on the air!

Even if M.A.S.H. counts, I think that was a 70s series. It might've trailed into the 80s, but as with WKRP it's still 70s.

I love 80s television, especially the sitcoms. Basically use them in conjunction with my television's sleep timer as well as sedatives to put myself to sleep every night.

I just recently saw on youtube the Today show had the cast of Silver Spoons on cause Ricky Schroder has been promoting his new reality series Starting Strong for the U.S Army. They were asked about a possible reunion movie they seemed open to it but didn't know what the plot would be after all this time.

If my 80's sitcoms had a Mount Rushmore...

    1. Mama's Family (Not counting Season 1, best show of all-time)
    2. Full House (It got bad after Uncle Jesse got married, and horrendous the older Michelle got)
    3. ALF (One of the few sitcoms I have on DVD. Would watch right before "Valerie's Family/Hogan's Family" back in the day)
    4. Golden Girls (When I was 5, the only time of the week I could stay up past 9PM. Show reminded me of my grandmothers)

    And other favorites...

    5. Amen (Sherman Helmsley is the man. And my first grade teacher reminded me of Thelma)
    6. Family Ties (Michael J. Fox, what more can you say)
    7. Family Matters (I consider more of a 90's sitcom, would be in my top 4 if it was truly all 80's)
    8. 227 (Awesome theme song)
    9. Growing Pains (A solid show, and it's got Alan Thicke!)
    10. Perfect Strangers (A great second rate show, Balki is amusing to kids)

and I have a ton of other ones I liked that would probably take me 20 minutes to write them all down.
