    For me, it would be The Golden Girls.

    Even though I have seen every episode countless times, I still keep it on in the background if I'm doing stuff around the house.

    My list would definitely include:

    * Perfect Strangers
    * Valerie/Hogan Family
    * Growing Pains
    * Family Ties
    * Full House
    * Diff'rent Strokes
    * Dear John
    * Family Matters
    * Webster
    * Who's the Boss

    They still show some of these sitcoms on TV here, probably the only shows I sit down and actively watch due to the light-hearted feel of them.

    I just finished watching ALL 9 seasons of Little House back to back along with Pilot movie and the 3 Farewell movies. Took me 6 months and now I am in withdrawal. lol.

    Now I am reading the books by Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary), Melissa Gilbert (Laura), and Alison Arngrim (Nellie).

    Family Ties and Coach are in my instant queue on Netflix and i watch both a few times a week. Back in the day i watched Hogan Family, Alf, Mr Belvedere, Webster, Gimme a Break, Silver Spoons, Facts of Life, My Two Dads, Married with Children, Growing Pains, Whos the Boss, Cosby Show, Different World, 227, Night Curt, and TGIF every Friday night. Check out-sitcoms online-for a crap load of intro songs.

    Some of the shows I used to watch back then like Full House make me sick now.

    However, I used to love Dukes of Hazzard (is that a sitcom?), Growing Pains and too many others to list. Who's the Boss, the Golden Girls and a few others still hold up. I also liked Just the Ten of Us.

    I cannot believe no one's mentioned Roseanne yet. Quite possibly the most groundbreaking sitcom of our generation.

    My favorite show in the '80s was "Taxi". I was an odd child to say the least. I was between the ages of 6 and 11 during it's original run which was from '80 to '85 I believe.
