    Simple display base

    Hey guys,
No big deal really, but I hadn't posted in here in a while, and thought some of you may like this.
I wanted to build a unique and interesting multi-level display "shelf" for some of my classics figures to fit perfectly inside my Detolf cabinets. And I wanted to spend essentially no money to do so! This is what I turned out.
it's just cut sheets of insulation Styrofoam and a little foamboard, glued together, then paper-mache over that, and painted. Simple, but I kinda like how it turned out. I think in time I may make some more and different ones.
    whattaya think?

Very cool idea. Been looking for ideas to display since it's getting crowded....

Very nice, much better than just sticking them on a shelf. Now you can see the guys in the back

I like the direction where you going with this...hope to see it evolve into more detailed display pieces, since you have many shelves in your Detolf.

thanks, everybody! i'm glad some like it, and it's even better if I've helped give any of you some ideas of things you can do for your own displays (and hey... dirt cheap don't hurt, eh?)
Mantisaur, I DO have lots of Detolf shelves (28), and I do plan to make some more of these kind of displays (similar but different orientation and colors/theme), but who knows when i'll actually get around to it!

    I love this! Great idea.
(And it's not so busy that it makes the display look cluttered or detracts from the figures!)

Excellently done! I'd love to do something like this so that figures in the back of my shelves are easier to see. I've got foamboard & stuff like that around my house (& the dollar store is also a good place for it) so I can do something like that pretty easily. Thanks for the awesome idea!
