They just need to keep making them and I'll keep buying.
So its December 15th, 2015. The last MOTUC "heavy hitter" has shipped. To this point, we now have all of the vintage MOTU, POP, & NA figures + a smattering of fan demanded filmation, mini-comic, and other media characters. (Assume that Matty was able to put out 40+ characters over 2 years)
Movie Characters (assuming matty can get the rights)
He-Ro, Son of He-man
DC New 52
What will it take for you to keep supporting the line? If you have already quit, what could Mattel do to bring you back? If you are planning on quitting the line in 2015, is there anything that would make you stay?...or if you are "in it until the end" what ideas do you have for a model that could extend the life of the line beyond 2015?
I think that it is sad that many of us are just accepting that the line will "END" in 2015. I agree that most of the heavy hitters should be out by then, but there are plenty of other cool characters that we won't get to. I want this thread to reflect the best thought of the fan base on how to extend the line (not necessarily the sub) beyond 2015...would you buy quarterly offerings if thats all Mattel could afford to put out there? Would a full pre-order system, like that emplyed by the 4HM for the Gothtropolis line be a way to continue?
MOTUC really is the LAST chance to get to characters like Golden God Skeletor, Masque, Aramesh,
Light Hope, Evil Seed, The Mask of Power Demons, etc. When is matty going to be in any position to burn through 200+ motu figures in another motu line to get where we are today?
Just want everyone to be thinking proactively about this, so that we may have a chance beyond 2015.
Its a long time time to wait for Electroid Love---AREMESH in 2016!
I think the key to keeping the line going will be an exciting new cast of characters that continues the He-Man story line. Older versions of characters we already know, and/or the "new generation." We're already seeing this with King He-Man. I will keep buying as long the the Four Horsemen keep making excellent figures. They have consistently proven that they are able to take any source material and make amazing figures out of it that exceed expectations. Something like Draego-Man fits in so well with the MOTU universe that I started Google searching trying to find pictures of the vintage figure when I first saw it. On top of original designs, there's a mountain of existing source material to draw from, with the movies, Golden Books, filmation, mini-comics, concept art, and there are aslo so many potential variants and tweaks of existing characters that the line could continue indefinitely on just existing material alone.
http://thefwoosh.com/2014/06/masters...beyond-vintageHey, if you want to wallow in the negative, go nuts. Sure, things aren’t absolutely perfect, and people passionate about a property can get all keyed up about things. But I don’t collect toys to be miserable. So I’d rather think about the things that do excite me
Me too. Even if it's not something I wanted (na he-man for example), when they come out they look really neat.
Those whom god wishes to destroy,
He first makes mad. - Reinfield.
If they make 'em, then I will buy 'em. Period.
“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.” ― Apple Inc.
200x/MYP subscription. I could be 4, 6 or 12 a year, depending how many A-listers they would redo while doing the handful of show unique characters. Total unrealistic, but you asked. It just painful to wait for those 1, sometimes 2 figure a year I want to finish my 200x character collection.
Harken the coming of Dragstor!!
They just need to keep releasing cool characters.
Whether they are left over NA chars, obscure mni-comic/book chars, or all new chars like the 30th sub, as long as they look great and fit in well with the rest of the line I will buy them, simple as that.

hard to say, i love this brand more than any other, I guess what it would take once they are all out of established characters would be VERY STRONG original characters designed and dreamt up by talented fans of the brand, Nate Baerscht (Sp?), the horsemen, Emiliano Santalucia, Axel Giminez etc. that would sell me.

Fear is faith in failure
I want characters we have always wanted that have roots in MOTU. There are tons of those characters.
My seller/trader/buyer feedback:
MOTUC Most Wanted: 1) Stridor 2) Night Stalker 3) Roton 4) Dragstor 5) Saurod 6) Karg 7) Lodar 8) Mask of Power Demons 9) TC Skeletor 10) FF He-Man 11) Talon Fighter/Point Dread 12) Road Ripper 13) Lord Masque 14) Filmation Teela
Keep the line as Classics and not a 200X continuation, and there are still characters that I could be enticed to buy. I would buy whatever looks cool for Classics....except NA characters, and figures that look too 200X.
We still have variants, Filmation, MC, MYP & NA lower tier guys....concepts....what have you.
Hell we could get to 2.0 figures at this point, and finally do say Filmation Skeletor as a 2.0, and include a He-Man or Mer-Man Filmation head....Teela 2.0, Roboto 2.0, Goddess,....etc....
Recent.... Lizard Man
Wanted.... NA She-Ra, Jitsu....
Oh man, did I forget to use these [sarcasm][/sarcasm] again? Sorry....
I'm cherry picking at this point. But I will continue to cherry pick as long as the line continues. I'll never say I'm out until the line is cancelled. If something comes out that I want I'll pick it up. Most of my wants are obscure: Fuerza-T, Leo variants, and especially classic toy variants like Mer-Man. But I don't have high hope in seeing many of those.

"The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing." - Blaise Pascal
Awesome figures at a reasonable price. That's all I'd need, personally...
Keep making them with great design and sculpts (no cheap out on characters) from the 4HM and I'll keep buying. I already know that after 2015 I'll be looking for Lord Masque.
I'm a sucker!!!! make em and you got me hook ... line and sucker!

If we exhausted the heavy hitters club then there would still be 3rd tier characters left like Bumblor, plenty of obscure characters like the demons fighting Tri-Klops in his home world. I think there are plenty of fan favorites that won't get made like Delora or Garn that they could mix in a few variants and still keep it interesting.
They could get movie rights. That would be a plus.
They could also do the CAC characters or new continuum.
There's plenty to keep us talking until beyond 2015.
