I've gotta say that, even though he's pretty plain, I really like this figure. He was a pretty interesting character in the episode he appeared in, and I think the 4H did a really nice job on him. I also wish that crystal Zoar would've come with a perch.

i'm still looking forward to him. the more filmation for me, the better!

maybe a change in the expression of the eyebrows would have been better. we don't want to start any anti thick eyebrows prejudice, do we? "just look at how thick his eyebrows are...he's EVIL!!"

Glad they put Count Marzo on the back of his card.

Great review as always, Dan. My only complaint is the eyebrows as has been mentioned since he was leaked from China.

Nice going, BRI-MAN! You just made Scott Ian of ANTHRAX cry!!

Seriously though, I really wish I could customize/paint because if I could, I would buy a NEPTHU and darken the crap out of those eyes! Darker eyes would make all the difference in the world. Then again, in my collection, I just might make him a reformed villain.

Extremely boring figure. Have no memory of the episode either. Zoar is cool at least, wish we got a perch.

    Here he is! Netpoo!

Dan could you take a picture of his boots next to Sy-klone's boots? I'd like to see if the color is the same so that I could swap them. Thanks!

You know, a couple of paint app mods and another little touch i'm thinking about going ahead with, he might not look as 'plain' after-all...

It's also one of several that got roughly adapted into a mini-comic--"Temple of Darkness" is pretty much the same plot, but with Skeletor instead of Nepthu. I think almost all those 1984 mini-comics are from Filmation episodes to some degree (although some--like "Double-Edged Sword"--have only the vaguest resemblances), with the possible exception of "The Clash of Arms".

Nice figure.aside from improving the eyebrows,my only nitpick is that they didn't replicate his wearing sandal boots like on the Filmation episode. There was a bit of foot flesh that appeared there.Nice review Dan!

Very boring figure... no evil eyes... a heroic look for this evil character... no perch for the crystal Zoar... no weapon... and the Egyptian look is not very Egyptian at all (probably more like an "Eternian Egyptian" thing, but I bet that if we get a 200X-inspired Hssss, the Egyptian style will be better reproduced on him).

You want a great "fantasy" Egyptian look ? Take Gothitropolis's Scarabus. Now, THAT is a great ancient Egyptian/fantasy mix !

INEPThu is a missed opportunity, IMO. It's a pass for me. But the good point is this : all his joints and articulations are neat.

I agree with everyone that he looks a bit too heroic but I'll be adding him to the shelf next to his "master" Marzo just the same.

The heroic look doesn't bother me as a look...vintage King Hisss has the same grin. But here, the source looked more sinister...I don't understand why that was ignored. At any rate, yes he's pretty plain...but I'll still welcome him into my collection.

I have to throw my hat in with those who feel his eyes are too "heroic." He was not on my Filmation wants list but he turned out better than I expected but is not an amazing figure.

    Thanks for the review Dan.

I'm glad it's being referred to as the whole eyes... I know some were talking about the eyebrows, but I don't think that's quite the thing. It was almost like a black shadow under his brow, or maybe like eye shadow. I'm wondering how he'd look if his top eyelids were black/dark.

Anyway, I think he's really cool and makes a great addition to the line.
