    Answers to WTFWTK 2.106!

Mattel has once again provided answers to your questions.
Thanks again to them for taking the time to answer these!
Check out their answers to your Round 106 questions!

This round of questions were selected by blackiecats.
Thanks to that fan for their help!

    1. Grayskull's Heir: Will it be possible to combine several Modulok figures and build one huge uber-Modulok with, say, 5 torsos and ten heads? If so, the figure will need to include enough connector pieces to make this possible and have day-of-sale stock.

At this point he is not far enough along to comment on that, but we can confirm there will be some day of stock.

    2. blackiecats: Will there be any further figures in 2013 that do not get any day-of-sale stock?

Yes, as announced when we sold the Filmation series, the owner of the "pirate sword" will not have day of. This was revealed at SDCC to be Sea Hawk.

    3. King Tamusk: At PowerCon 2012, attendees were able to get a secret accessory (fused Keldor swords) and hear the announcement of Castle Grayskull. Will attendees of PowerCon 2013 be getting any such treats, such as a new secret accessory or big announcement, or both?

To manage expectations, there won't be a secret accessory as that was a bit of a fluke when a few units of the Keldor sword were produced incorrectly and fused together. Instead of tossing them we had them polly bagged to give out at PC!

    4. MrRoboto: When one looks at a year's worth of figures recently, we see a line-up from different factions, eras and so forth. How is it decided or what guidelines do you follow to determine which character is put into their respective monthly slot?

It is a careful balancing act and one of the things our team is very good at. The MOTUC line was thought out years in advance month to month (and for the most part has stayed true to the original road map almost to a tee. One of the things that was looked at was making sure each year had a good offering of A list AND C list characters as well as representation from all factions. Sometimes you can get a two-fer or even a three-fer like with Catra. She is POP, Horde, female, vintage etc.... It is a very well thought out process and roadmap.

    5. No-Ah: I discovered this line last year with the Castle Grayskull pre-order. When we pre-ordered, we were told Grayskull would come out in December 2013. At SDCC you mentioned that Castle Grayskull is coming out in November. I have two of these pre-ordered. That's a lot of money to me and the difference between November and December is big when it comes to budgeting for big ticket items like this. Which is it? Does the Castle comes out in November or December? And if it is now November, will you make any provisions for those of us who expected and budgeted to buy these in December?

We can confirm the preorder Castles will start shipping in late Nov and the day of stock at 300.00 will go on sale Dec 15 (very very limited!)

I'm a bit disapointed my question was edited as I'm sure I said something like 'will there be any more figures AFTER Fangman, Clamp Champ and Sea Hawk, not to have day of stock. So this hasn't really answered the question I originally asked We've known about Sea Hawk having no DOS stock now for months! Oh well...
8 figures I still need: 8/Perfuma (for completeness of POP ONLY!), 7/Filmation Tung Lashor, 6/Saurod, 5/Sprag, Sprocker and Spritina, 4/Peekablue, 3/Hunga the Harpy, 2/Filmation Clawful, 1/Dylamug.

Modulok having day of sales stock should put some minds at ease!

    From itsalltrue.net:

MOTUClassics.Com Asks: While we appreciated the sentiment behind how the Spirit of Hordak was sold, the way he was released might’ve done more harm than good. If a chase figure were to happen again, would you release it any differently so that more figure would get into more fan’s hands quicker?

There are quite a few sales for Hordak left including an EA sale for sub holders in Dec.

MOTUClassics.Com Asks: With the new roadmap having to focus on vintage figures at the cost of others, will Dactys be it for MO2K-inspired figures?

No, we do have other 200X characters in the 2014-2015 roadmap pending we get enough sub holders for a 2015 line. How many show up in 2014 remains to be seen but one will be shown at Power Con!

I have to say, that last answer annoys me a little bit. Now, I like the 200x characters as much as anyone, but in a year that is supposed to be full of the remaining A-Listers, I can't think of a single one that fits the bill. Anyone?

Evilseed is one of the biggest non-figure characters in the mythos having shown up in both MYP and Filmation. He might be more essential than some toyline characters who have never had media.

So basically the rumor is we are going to see three new characters for Power con, one is suppose to be Scorpia, the other one could be Blade and the third is a 200X character with Evil Seed fitting the A-List spot the best. Queen Veena is demanded as well and many say what´s a king with out his queen or maybe Pravhus since he was part of kidnapping Adora?
*Peekablue *Toy version Catra *Sagitar *Drissi *Crita *Lizorr *Zilora *Granita *Delora *Battle Armor Queen Marlena *Queen Veena *Calix *Hawke *Pebblass(Minicomic Comet Warrior) *Lady Slither

I think a lot of folks would be cool with Evilseed. He definitely ranks high for a lot of fans, especially the MYP version. That's the type of non-vintage toy character I'm all for. And no offense to anyone, but I'd much rather have MYP Evilseed than Rotar or Twistoid.

Indeed. In fact, I was surprised Scott used Rotar for his 'Dare or' argent the other day, I'd rather have Drae than Rotar!

ToyGuru said awhile back somewhere, I don't remember where, could have been in Q&A, that if they did an Evil Seed he would ideally be a hybrid of the Filmation and MYP version, perhaps with two heads. If you think about it, that could very easily be accomplished and both fans of his different looks could be satisfied. I myself would prefer his Filmation look over MYP and this would be a good compromise. I mean we have Marzo in 200x look already and he was controversial because of his hyper anime look. We are getting Modulok without any Filmation influence whatsoever (sorely missed opportunity here to do both). I wouldn't want Evil Seed to be like Modulok.

Rotar deserves a release in the next two years. Same goes for Twistoid!

I think the Four Horsemen could knock those two out of the park.

I think the answer to question #3 on the org was a "non-answer." Nothing was resolved about any kind of a big reveal.

I'd love it if Evilseed were the Q2 $38 item. If Rokkon & Stonedar basically priced out at $30 a piece, I could see Evilseed being a two-in-one figure (both the Filmation and MYP look) that has a lot of swappable parts (the MYP version was even in a pod or something at the beginning of the episode, no?) and plenty of planty weaponry.

To be honest there are zero A-list characters left (excluding variant figures) as all the most important characters have already been done. Still some key characters to do but none can really be considered A-list.

Wait, what? I thought we were focusing on finishing off the line with the essentials in 2014.

Evil Seed is far from essential in my book.
I find him pretty essential, and far more important than any NA character and other "cartoon" characters.

I'm right there with you Val, and getting a 200X version would be much better than Artichoke head.

WHAT?!?! My rage is palpable. Worse yet, you've made Rotar himself angry...

You too?!? How "Dare" you?! Or did you mean Dr. Drae? In which case, I might agree.

I think the Four Horsemen could knock those two out of the park.

Very happy about more 200x... Evilseed would be the most important villain... Snake Armor He-Man being another important character!
Also really stoked that CG will be delivered before Christmas with the late November shipping date... That is awesome! Many times I don't get my Dec 15th figs until after the holiday!
I will NEVER believe that Mermista beheaded Mer-Man! You sit on a throne of lies.... and smell of beef and cheese, bio writer!!!!
