    MOTU Japanese Rubber Figures

I haven't came across any of these here on the forum, but if so forgive me if this is a repost. I have been after these figures since 2007 when i first saw them. They were available in japan, not sure if they just came in vending machines like the bulk of most rubber figures or if they came boxed with candy like a some of the small figures did. They have the official MATTEL stamp on them so they are official licensed figures. They are typical "eraser" type rubber, that all japanese figures were made of in the 80's. They are about 1.75"-2" tall. These are pretty rare and ive only seen some for sale twice in 7 years of looking. They usually go from $160-$220 each in Japan. Pretty expensive, but very cool.

I have 7 of these figures myself and was wondering if anyone else here has seen them or has any themselves in their collections?

Oh WOW! I wish I hadn't seen these! Not that I'd have the cash to track them down. How strange! Very cool find, man. Thanks for the close up pics, too! It's too bad these weren't widely available...and strange, too. I mean MUSCLE creatures did well enough over here. You'd think they would have tried these out here too!

and yeah i would have loved to see these released here in the US, but in japan small rubber figures are part of their culture. They release small figures like this for everything.

I just wanted to say that I am the proud owner of several of Eric's custom artwork pieces and recommend them to any and all He-man fans. Fans of He-man and M.U.S.C.L.E. should check out his site...just get prepared to be blown away.

Now a question to Eric: Once you get these figures, any chance you might do some casting of them and sell them to we poor and huddled masses?

Love these! I like how some of the subtler details of the vintage figures are exaggerated in these rubber figures.

No those pictured are originals, he was just asking if I would recast them. I sculpt and make my own rubber figures as well as recast rare and hard to find figures for people to collect.

I have my own custom figures kitbashed from muscles with shrunken parts from motu figures, and cast in rubber.

I will be recasting mine in the coming weeks, probably 2 at a time. I will probably start with He-man and Man-at-Arms.

Guys, please remember not to turn this into a buying thread. That's got to be kept in the Marketplace. Let's just keep the discussion going in this thread.

I keep coming back to this thread to check out the pics of these figures. I actually remember seeing similar figures from different properties (i.e. Kamen Rider, etc.) and thought it was so hyper-correct that the manufacturers went the extra step of including the weapons for the characters on a sprue. So cool.
