I had a nice conversation with one of my good friends from japan that is a huge keshi (rubber figure) collector about these Masters of the Universe figures and he said that they are just Prototypes that were supposed to be released by Mattel and Bandai (Ma-Ba), but for some reason they didn't get to be released. There are only a few known of each figure, so thats why not many know about them and that there isnt any packaging for them.

Good to know, but that sucks cause who knows when more will ever be available.

My friend has the other 5 I need so im gonna try to work something out to borrow his to cast up as well to get a full set. (but we can leave that for the future)

Perfect scale! Would you be willing to loan one out if I made a mold for you to keep? You loan me one at a time, I mold and cast it, then send you the original AND the mold I used to cast it. I know you do casting and stuff but it would save you work. I'm willing to do what ever I can to help to get copies of these guys. I'm getting decent at casting so the mold you get would be good quality. Heres an example of my latest casting project:

These figures are cool -- it's too bad they never went into full production I bet a lot of us would have enjoyed collecting them alongside the regular action figures.

For the last few years, not knowing that these ever existed, I thought that Mattel could do this same sort of figure with the MOTU characters. What got me to thinking about it was the Handful of Heroes that Hasbro does/did with the Marvel characters. I know that there will be tooling costs for the molds, designing the figures, etc. but in the end it seems to me that putting out a line of figures like this would be cheaper overall than doing regular action figures.

MOTU has plenty of characters with a distinctive look to them so they have variety going for them, and if Mattel followed the example of the Japanese figures where each character had a weapon, the MOTU figures would have an edge of the similar figures where weapons, if any, are molded as part of the figure.

I appreciate the offer, but im fine with casting these. Plus I only want to release a couple a month, so it wont me a problem. I've been casting smaller rubber figures like this in rubber for over 3 years. I sculpt and create my own figures along with casting up others figures as well. The rubber I use is a thicker viscosity than resin so I have to vent it a different way i would a resin mold.

Your casting looks awesome! Very well done. Also checked out your Deviantart and gave you a watch, doing some cool stuff!

Thanks man. Well I figured it wouldn't hurt at least ask, but either way please put me down for how ever many you make! I'm excited at the possible opportunity to add these to my collection. Sounds like using the rubber would be pretty tough.

These are great on so many levels from the likenesses to the MUSCLE proportions. Thanks for sharing.

Now if someone could just be willing to cast the pewter figures...I've been hunting for those for years.

I think I am going to cut the weapons off and have them hold them.

    - - - Updated - - -

I finally cut my weapons off of Man-At-Arms and BA He-man, so I would like to make point something out:

They both hold their weapons really well, BUT my Man-At-Arms is now front heavy and can not stand holding his weapon. He keeps falling over with it is in hand (which he didn't do while the weapon was still molded to the figure), so that is something you guys might want to consider before taking them off. But it might just be my MAA and won't effect any others.

Got my set of flesh today! They are a little softer in some spots (than say MUSCLE) for some added flex, and the detail is superb! Here is a couple of quick & dirty pics, solo, and a comparison with MUSCLE, a MUSCLE bootleg, O.M.F.G., & SLUG Zombies.
LOOKING FWD TO THE NEXT SET!
