Are the NA characters the the best figures in MOTUC?

I was looking at my figures the other day and was surprised at how much I have come to love the NA characters in MOTUC. They are in my estimate some of the best sculpted and best detailed figures in the entire line and with Flogg and that bad ass looking NA Skeletor coming it begs the question are these the best figures in the line? What are your thoughts?

Well, I don’t know about all of them. However, Optikk is definitely one of the best figures in the Classics line. NA Skeletor looks phenomenal, too.

The NA characters are certainly underrated. I love Optikk as well. He gets no love from the community though.

Not in my opinion, I don't like any of the ones released so far except maybe Optikk. NA Skeletor May look good depending on how they do his armor, but I did not like the He-Man.... Flogg and Hydron May be a little better than what NA we've gotten already, but not by much.

But to me while they are well sculpted, they are far from the best in the line. And certainly my least wanted MOTUC figures.

The best figures in MOTUC? I wouldn't think so at all. I'm biased obviously as I was never a fan of NA, but I also think their resell value is very telling.

Optikk is great he's the only NA figure that I thought was worth keeping. The NA figures are a nightmare to resell.

They are only hard to sell because of the old era biases of the fans, not because the figures are crappy, badly sculpted, fall apart, bad paint, black plastic or have a lack of accessories.

But I would agree that NA figures are some of the best figures in the line. Quality and sculpting-wise, the 4H and Mattel bring their A-game to the NA characters; Just like Bow, presumably to change the mind of alot of haters who despise NA on general principle. I wish that level of dedication reached some of those POP characters, like Frosta.

Optic an Flip Shot were great. Slush was good, Karate was okay, but Hydron looks like a scuba clown. Overall, I like NA a lot. I did not care for the cartoon or the old NA figure, but I like them in Classics.

While I personally really love NA, and the NA Skeletor will probably be my all time favorites in this line, I do feel that NA has actually been poorly represented in this Classics, with Flipshot being the one exception so far. Slush head, one of my favorite characters from the series, was severely hindered by the use of shared parts. His feet, shorts and hands are the big culprits, and that bothers me quite a bit, especially the feet. Flogg not being given the proper feet, even though NA Skeletor also could have used them, ended up getting the shaft, even though Skele comes along close behind him, and gets those very feet. Why not sculpt them for Flogg and have Skeletor re-use them, to get more bang for the Mattel buck?

I also don't understand the choice of favoring the toy designs over the toon designs. I would rather see an amalgam of the two looks for most characters. Optikk for instance has black armor in the toon instead of gold, and since gold is such a prevalent color among the mutants especially, why not go with the color that makes him stand out so much more? He looked so awesome in the toon in my opinion. I like the NA representation in Classics, but the lackluster quantity isn't the only way the series and it's fans have been given the shaft. I think that what the figures are doing to warm up those to the series that formerly hated it is a great thing, but as a long time fan of the New Adventures, I feel like it has been treated like an evangelist at a porn convention by Mattel, and that bothers me. Like I said, to me, Flipshot is the one single exception to that fact.

I think so! All of the NA figures have been outstanding as far as I'm concerned. I wish we had more of them.

I loved Frosta. In fact, Frosta, Netossa, and Castaspella have made me a bit more of a POP fan than I was before. I'm looking forward to Glimmer as well, though Flutterina looks like a dud to me.

NA He-Man is a great figure, and now that Intergalactic Skeletor is releasing August, I would say these two variants are definitely top 5.

I can't say the NA Classics figures are the best in the line, because there are some fantastic figures made. BUT I would say when it comes to ratios of how many each faction has to great figures, NA is the best. Mainly because they don't have a lot of figures made, but the ones that are made are pretty great. I love NA He-man and Skelly coming...and Flogg...and Hydron! Well I want to see Hydron in person, because I'm a little saddened with how his suit swelled up. I only wish there was more love for NA. I want all of the figures made in the classics line. I fear I will never get my Butthead or Quakke.

I agree with the era bias issue. I bought my NA figures---on the secondary market---before I ever watched NA. Simply based on the aesthetics. I love them, and I love them as a representation of a mission He-Man took in space. Plus, they make better companions for the Comet Warriors than the rest, lol.

I don't know that they are the BEST in the line, but I certainly love them. I'm afraid Hydron's going to be a stinker, but that's OK. The rest are great, and Intergalactic Skeletor will more than make up for that. I CANNOT wait for that figure.

Icarius is the best figure in the line.
The others are not bad, but nowhere near the top imo. (just talking about what's been released, not upcoming).

OOOH, I'm biased! I loved the original toyline, AND they applied amazing detail to all of them, so far. So YES. They're the best. NA He-Man and Flipshot are up on the shelf, and I really don't have enough shelf space to display. But they're there. I mean, with all the ire toward that toyline, I never expected to get EXACTLY what I wanted in NA He-Man and Skeletor - and I DID. Am. Will have. When NA Skeletor comes. I'm droppin' the mic. End of show, baby.

*ahem* Anyway, I love 'em. Only tiny thing I'd change on NA He-Man is the hand, 'cause it doesn't grip the sword as tightly as pretty much every other figure. But EH. The figure is way too awesome for that to bother me.

The day I got Icarius, I opened him, put him on the shelf, and told my friend it was the best action figure I'd ever had in my life. I wish I'd had Classics Icarius as a kid.

I had the original back in the day, but he was used so much that he eventually broke, and now all that's left is the backpack. But yeah, they blew the old one away with the Classics version! I've had him using the big cannon that came with Preternian Disguise He-Man. It's PERFECT. Heck, Flipshot looks awesome with any of the long rifles; especially with Queen Marlena's. I love that you can outfit him for flying and ground missions! He's an all-around great action figure.

^Gotta agree, Flipshot is killer. The NA figs are characters I love to buy doubles of so I can display multiple looks. Flipshot unmasked holding his helmet while brandishing BG Teelas pistol looks almost as cool as he does all decked out with his iconic jetpack! The NA stuff is just great.

Love these guys! I never had the originals but seeing what the 4H has done with these designs has completely blown me away. Easily the ones I look forward to the most along with POP.

I love the Space Mutants. Maybe it's the shared pants, but Trap Jaw really feels like a key between NA and OG, like he could reside in either one. I think they went a little too Juggalo on Karatti but Slush Head is great.

The GP are too early 90's for me though, in the most dull, generic way possible. Spinwit or Nocturna would probably make the best toys.

I really like all of the NA figures we have gotten at this point. I don't know if I would say that they are the best in the line, but I do think they have all turned out pretty well. The shared parts that everyone seems to be so angry about all of the time (specifically the Trap jaw legs) does not bother me in the slightest. And really I don't get being mad about that anyway, that is one of the things that this line does, lol. I wonder if some people just feel like they "need a reason" to justify not liking the figures. "Man I totally would have been into Optikk, but he used Trap Jaw legs!"

I like some of the figures more than others, Flipshot is pretty cool, but I don't expect to like Hydron much just because I don't like Hydron. So far Slush head is my favorite mutant at the moment, but I expect to like Flogg as much or maybe a bit more. Honestly I am thrilled to get any NA figures that we get
It is spelled "Crita", not "Critta". Misspell her name and Crita will knock the "T" out of you!

    Also...get her into the line!
