    • Book includes 4000+ individual entries spanning worlds of He-Man and She-Ra accross 690+ pages.
    • The Guide is not about creating new "unified single canon".
    • This is a Character/World Guide. It's not an actionfigure toy-photo guide.
    • Dimensions 9 '' x 12 '' so its same size as "Art of He-Man" and "Animated Guide for He-Man and She-Ra" books.
    • Entries feature existing images and information from official published media.
    • Canons are treated in their respective form - no conforming different sources into a single entry with mishmash information.
    • See below for additional details for which canons atleast are included.
    • The Preview-photos from Power-Con 2016 are not final - as the book's page-count was increased from 512 to over 690 pages.
    • No information yet if there will be a Limited Edition-version for Character Guide (in contrast Newspaper collection book didn't get one).

The other authors include: Gbagok, Aidan "Mosquitor" Cross, Jukka, Clawful94, TheShadow, Adultcollector, Sir Reilly, John F. Carroll, bskcase, Jack P. Starro, and Wacky Martin. If I forgot any other writers, I'm sorry.

There were also several folks who worked on image discovery and restoration. I don't recall everyone offhand, but I know Jacob Rougemont obtained most of the images for the book and Leanne Hannah, Daniel Benedict, and several others worked on image restoration.

In other words, a LOT of people worked on the book.

If you set your expectations to include every single image and idea ever mentioned or conceived with regard to MOTU, including nameless items and unused concept ideas, it would have taken at least 2 years of dedicated time as well as okays from all parties involved to include some of that stuff. That said, there is a LOT in there from pretty much every existing unique canon. Will there be missing things? Probably. But with deadlines and dealing with a 30 year-old franchise featuring so many interpretations, that's bound to happen. The team involved tried very hard to cover everything we could within reason though.

    It'll be cool.

Above all else, remember this is technically not an "encyclopedia" but more of a guide. It's going to be comprehensive, but you might not see answers to things like "how far away is Castle Grayskull from Snake Mountain?"

It took a massive amount of teamwork to pull this off, with Val organizing and leading the way and many people writing, researching, finding images, cleaning up images, proofing, layout, design, etc. I think we might all be slightly mad for even attempting to take on this this gargantuan project, but the end result is going to be pretty darn epic, imo.

    Jukka thank you very much!!!!

Now THIS IS AN AMAZING REVEAL!!!!

This was something that MOTU needs! To explore further this world with such great potential, than just being a simple toy line. Books, comics, graphic novels, videogames etc, whatever can help to a worldbuilding franchise!

Also from the He-Man's images below it appears that the book is covering every MOTU Era from the first mini comics to the modern DC Comics!

Bring it on Dark Horse! Keep them coming!!!

(By the way the Skeletor's chapter looks awesome, incorporating every version or incarnation of the character!)

    I can't even . . .

I can tell already that I'm going to be lost in this book for a good long time once it's in my hands.

Have any further details been revealed apart from the teaser pics? Such as, the size and number of pages, what the "world compendium" part refers to (is it individual encyclopedic articles for the non-character things, like "Mystic Mountains", "Andreenid Ambrosia", "Qadian Race/Species", "Tri-Solar System", "Spell of Separation", "Horn of Evil", "Horde World Planet", "Kingdom of Brightmoon", "Royal Palace of Eternia", "Mutant Shuttlepod", etc., or just some kind of short general descriptive essay where these are mentioned but not described in detail)?, will it be truly comprehensive and include all the "obscurities" or just the main A/B-list stuff?, will it include planet/region/city maps, building/vehicle cross-sections, and/or any newly-commissioned art?, etc.

Dark Horse announced CHARACTER GUIDE at Power-Con 2016

I actually saw this on Amazon a little bit ago and was wondering what it was, but now it's gone. It said it was coming out in 2017 too.
