Hey Axel, sorry I don't comment more on these! You've been putting out such excellent work in this thread and I just come along and right-click-save it all and don't even say a word, haha. I really hope some of these guys get figures eventually!

You just have that absolute essence of MOTU down, like it's in your blood, bro. All I can say is just keep knocking these things out of the park and I'll keep right-click-saving so I can enjoy them along with my Axel Giménez cardbacks and minicomics (and Armour-Dillo, lol)!

The shape and length of the sword is based mainly on that which he holds in the image from the vintage minicomic.

Thanks a lot for your words, good man! And yes, I think Masters of the Universe has been in my life since my artistic beginnings, and I hope to retire with them.

I see that now and it does make sense. Thanks Axel.

These things are my favourite. Fleshign out rando background images into full designs and characters.

Yeah, Reptilax is great. Very throwback, and a tad of the cool vintage bootlegs (which I adore) like galaxy warriors and so forth.

The new tooling sorta ruins the whole parts reuse thing, but I agree that this head is the right way for that comic image. almost perfect actually.

Reptilax is great man! Nice to see some of the more obscure Snake Men from that comic getting some love!

OMG... Reptilax is amazing. This was a totally unexpected design and i really, really like it. The armor and loincloth designs are nice. I think the only thing I might do differently would be to make the hands the same color as the head.. The reference art from the mini comics doesn't really show the hands and would the things together. Now I need this figure, but tracking down an extra Laser Skeletor, and two Two Bad shins to hold the custom might be too pricey. Maybe I'll just have to wait for Super 7 to commit to its Axel based line of figures.

We definitely need an Axel-figures mini-sub!

A Snake Men by Axel subscription (in addition to CC & CG) would be great.

    Lady Slither
    Reptilax
    Stretch Nek
    Vypor
    Goldenrod
    Quik Flick

A Snake Men by Axel subscription would be awesome. Goldenrod brings prospect of Aremesh parts pack-in!

But there are so many different characters it seems an indulgence just to restrict to the snakes

I 2nd this idea but it must include ALL of the characters Axel has worked on. I want Hans Hammerholder.

That's a big subscription! Technically, hasn't Axel worked on ALL the characters?

An Axel maxi-sub would be awesome.

I'd be all over this. I think some of those designs are great and always thought the Snake Men needed troops badly.
Right or wrong, buying a sub tells Mattel you want more MOTUC figures. Not buying does tells them you don't. Don't let MOTUC end early because you might not like their marketing strategy! Plus polls show you won't regret subbing!

One of the true fan minority - happy MOTU fans!

I'll put this out there right now... if Super7 were ever to decide to move on from producing Classics figures I think the best thing that could happen would be for the 4 Horsemen to directly obtain the license and take over the factory relationships, include Axel and Nate Baersch to do ongoing character designs and card artwork and then just crank out a non-stop flow of figures based on Axel's work rendering all the characters from the vintage mini-comics, new mini-comics, son of he-man bible and any other source they saw fit to draw from. I would subscribe immediately and would buy a lifetime subscription if it was offered...

    Great Black Wizard
    Red Shadow
    Lady Slither
    Vypor
    Strettch Nek
    Quik Flick
    Muck Man
    Ever Mean
    Reptilax
    Golden Rod
    Beast Lord
    Lord Choloh
    Hans Hammer Holder
    Gladiator
    Bandwidth
    Robo Woman
    Man Crystal
    Jet Pak
    Scrollos
    Josh
    Tug O War
    Bug Eye
    Evermean
    Missile toe

And while they got busy cranking out those Axel could be busy rendering more characters ... Garn, Dakon, Kex Queen, Bubblor, Kay-La, on and on, ad infinitum.

I'm ready to sign up now for this. Let's go.

PantherCult, that would be something. It could happen the way things are now.
I would be for it for sure.
These two would be deluxe box sets like Vykron, for display reasons.
    Robo Woman/ Princess Kirma
    Golden Rod/ Aremesh
Lady Slither with alternate snake body
Not to mention the little pack ins like mutation and Kowla.
