    Thanks Penny!

And Princess Kirma looks great! Could we reuse Granita / Robo Woman body, with Angella's head for her?

So, you'd buy an exclusive easy repaint, isn't it?

The Mighty Spector was created by Scott "Toyguru" Neitlich, and while I don't remember his story, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the cat guy.

Thanks for sharing these sketches. I still REALLY want all of these new characters, especially the Defenders of Trolla. I doubt we will, given Super7's nostalgia focus.

There was speculation on a blog (can't recall which one) awhile back. The blogger felt it sort of legitimized TG's creation, to imagine a young Scott Neitlich seeing those parts and using them to create his own character.

    EDIT: It was Sallah's blog.

It's time to share more of the art that I did for Masters of the Universe Classics line.

This time, to show something different, is box art for Modulok. I remember that I couldn't have been happier at the time I was assigned this project. My preference among the different styles of monsters and creatures of Masters of the Universe were always those with more than one head and many limbs. Modulok was obviously one of my favorites from the first time I discovered it.

As can be seen in my pencils of the configurations for the left side of the box, one of them was a clear nod to the Filmation model of Modulok, but as at the time of working on this project, the figure obviously hadn't been produced and there was only its prototype, it was not known if it would possible that the final figure could have the second head in his claw, so I was asked to remove that head of the image.

Modulok - Main Glamour Image Final Pencils.jpgModulok Configurations Left Side (Early Version).jpgModulok Configurations Right Side (Final) Revision 1.jpg

The same, me with my team, we decided to go ahead and make a complete image of that nod to model Filmation, that time later would be included in the book "The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" of Dark Horse.

    Modulok (Filmation Model Nod).jpg

Inks on this project were by Diana Egea, and colors by Ulises Arreola.

So fun, I Love these renderings! [^D

What sort of "model" did you have to work from for this project? Did You have a physical prototype? Pictures of the pieces involved? Everything looks EXACTLY like the finished product (joints, necks, etc.), VERY impressive! :^)

Since I live in Argentina, about 6000 miles from the United States, working with a physical prototype would be quite complicated and expensive to send, so I worked with photos of the prototype made by Four Horsemen.

I'm a big fan of Metropolis, I think it's awesome that you used the Maria robot as inspiration. I believe she also inspired the design of C3PO (especially evident in the early concept art)

Wow, that's great Axel!! Love the Modulok art.
It's funny, I haven't been on here for a few days and the first thing I was thinking as O opened the browser tonight was, "I hope Axel and Nate posted more cool stuff," and you both sure did!

As a fan of Masters of the Universe, I have enjoyed every one of the projects I had the chance to do for the franchise, but there are some that I treasure as my masterpieces. One of them is the cut of Grayskull Castle that I was assigned to design. As in almost all projects, general guidelines were given to me, and then, complete freedom to make my personal contributions. Following my work style for the line, and coinciding with one of the purposes of MOTUC, my goal in this case would be to try to include as many elements as possible, from the different versions of Grayskull.

The inks for the final piece were by Diana, and the colors by Nate.

    Castle Grayskull Cutaway.jpg

At the time of working on this poster, to try to be as precise as possible in every detail, I decided to make this poster in separate parts, so final piece, is composed of more than fifty different drawings. In dealing with so many images, although I will not post each one of them, I will try to share a few, so in this case, beyond these already shared images, I will post some others during the week.

The Castle Grayskull cutaway map is, far and away, my favorite map of the MOTUC map series. You guys totally outdid yourselves with this!

So, how's about a Snake Mountain one next? Whadaya say, Super 7?
