Vintage Style Super7 5.75 Toy Fair reveals official discussion - w/ poll results

    UPDATED March 9th:

Here are the results to your most-wanted 5" retro-styled MOTU figures from Super7. These results will be reviewed and considered by Super7 and the Four Horsemen.

This poll focused on 5" candidates that were characters released so far in the Masters of the Universe Classics line. There are always other candidates, and Super7 may have some of their own surprises for the 5" line. But most of the obvious candidates for the 5" line will be characters already released in Classics.

Please note, as indicated in the voting, any character that previously appeared in the 80s as a MOTU toy would be re-released in a Filmation'retro style similar to the 5" figures Super7 has shown already for characters like He-Man and Skeletor.

Here are the Top 15 most wanted:
    1. Shadow Weaver (first 5" MOTU appearance)
    2. Adora (first 5" MOTU appearance)
    3. Sorceress (Filmation'styled)
    4. Mer-Man (Filmation'styled)
    5. Queen Marlena (first 5" MOTU appearance)
    6. Trap Jaw (Filmation'styled)
    7. Cringer (first 5" MOTU appearance)
    8. Evil-Lyn (Filmation'styled)
    9. Orko (Filmation'styled)
    10. Prince Adam (Filmation'styled)
    11. Ram Man (Filmation'styled)
    12. Fisto (Filmation'styled)
    13. Keldor (first 5" MOTU appearance)
    14. Tri-Klops (Filmation'styled)
    15. Man-E-Faces (Filmation'styled)

Also for fun, we included the existing MOTUC vehicles, beasts and playsets in the poll. The following two items would have placed in the Top 15, even though there has been no announcement of anything other than 5" figures coming from Super7:
    1. Battle Cat (Filmation'styled)
    2. Castle Grayskull (Filmation'styled)

    UPDATED February 23rd:

    ----------------------
It looks like we are finally getting vintage style He-Ro and Eldor. They look like they will be coming on the standard card (no Powers of Grayskull).

The Four Horsemen have also sculpted Filmation-style figures for He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra and Hordak. Thanks to AlternativeMindz for the photos!

I wonder/hope if we will FINALLY get to see how the "book of spells" hologram stickers look like.

Also, I really hope He-ro's armor gets vac-metalized for 100% vintage accuracy.

I understand why they're not using that card back, and I agree with their choice.

Of the 4 cartoon figures, I like Skeletor the best. Since Skeletor's head looks very Filmation-like, I wish they would have done the same with He-Man's head.

    He-Man and Skeletor look fantastic.

She-Ra like a cheap girlielike plastic doll. Just terrible.

I totally disagree. That is the She-Ra I wanted as a kid. It's exactly what I imagined her looking like in the vintage line after I saw Secret of the Sword.

These look great but I wonder why they only made a new head for Skelly and not the others. Hordak is a straight repaint, Shera uses Teelas headsculpt(?) and for Heman they just changed the hair it seems. My custom Hordak:

No interesting buying these, but He-man, Skeletor and Hordak look about as good as they could for what they're going for with this line.

    She-ra, however, looks terrifying.

These look very cool - quite believable actually as to what might have been released back then.

    Definite buys in my book

I could not agree more, Danielle. That is She-Ra as I had envisioned she would look like. These vintage Style figures, sequel line figures are a dream come true.
Mattel please, buy the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons from Entertainment Rights. If you owned Both Filmation related "MotU" cartoons, plus "NA" and "MYP" cartoons, you would be able to distribute any or all 4 cartoons to Television in the lead up to another relaunch or a live action movie. Plus, you could include Filmation and "NA" animated characters in "MotU:C"!

    Long Live 'MOTU'!

But what is FILMATIONesque on her face? Nothing at all. I mean: compare the acurate Filmation Skeletor face with She-Ra's face.

That's not the point, though. It's a Filmation character done in the vintage sculpting style. Just look at the vintage MOTU Sorceress. She didn't look like she jumped off the TV screen either.

Her design is FILMationesque while the figure has an overall vintage toy style. I think she's perfect for what she is and is exactly what this new vintage line is going for.

    Your Hordak is absolutely PERFECT!
Hopefully He-Man and She-Ra get reworked bit more. Specifically their faces need to be more show accurate.

Oh, and She-Ra's hair should be yellow, not yellow-orange like He-Man's.
