I've got a feeling that the next two issues are going to be pretty action-packed (since it's only a 3 issue series). I'm also curious as to how the events in this mini-series might effect the upcoming ongoing series. Val, you mentioned that this was a tie-in to the toyline/cartoon and that you weren't really planning on doing the comic this way, so will the events in "Rise of the Snakemen" have lasting effects on the new series, or will we be going back to a more 'normal' type of continuity?

OT: The pencils for my fan-art image are done, I've handed them off to my inker. I can't wait to see how it looks when he's done.

We're acknowledging almost everything done up through Episode 39 of the cartoon.

wow the first issue only covered the forst half of the first eppsidoe, the next two issue's must speed up

You know what I liked about the comic in comparison of the toon?
If you guys had just a tad more communication going on, the adaptation's story would have been like all the deleted and extended scenes from the cartoon. I think only Adam really messed that up by being in the palace and the ride evil lyn and crew had going into the mystic mountains. I wouldn't sacrifice that page between Adam and teela just to serve the cartoon. I think I'll just consider the comic the director's cut, and the cartoon the theatrical release

And from the preview, issue two is gonna rock! I Only wish I could read it before next week's new episode!

sorry JVS3, I don't mean to sound negative, but I thought that the #1 was a little blah! The art is better than the Tri-Klops icon artwork, which is a good thing at least.

I understand that it was an adaptation, but I believe every issue should have something substantial happen in it. A page or two into it I knew that the final panel would be of king Hssss emerging from the void.

In general, the comic has been pretty awesome. I read here that you said less time was put into this mini series and it shows (the shard of darkness was quite good). I only offered this feedback because the comic is one of the things I am enjoying most about 'the new' MoTU and I want it to be as good as it possibly can.

    He-Boy:

Not every story can be for everyone, I suppose.
    Sorry you didn't like it!
    Thanks for the feedback!

I agree with you on that, so I'm happy to be the odd one out this time. It's not that I disliked the story, but rather felt that nothing really happened. Reading back over the comic (again!), I s'pose there's not much that could have been added/changed (I am just too damn demanding!). When all three issues have been read, I'll let you know how you went (LOL).

Overall, the MCV comics have been rather brilliant. One thing I love most is the character development. Sometimes we get a real insight into the characters themselves, which is brilliant. And the nostalgic sneak-peak's are cool too.

On a small note, the exclusion of the bar-code form the cover is great. Will this be happening all the time from now on?
