The
Queen of the Ball
Golden. 1985

Glimmer,
Adora, Madame Razz, and the Twigget, Pluck (don't their
names all begin with an "S"?) enjoy a day
in the garden. Madame Razz recalls the olden days when
there were still parties and balls. Glimmer decides
that they will have a ball and makes a dress out of
light. Madame Razz teaches them all to dance. Later,
Glimmer convinces Angella to hold a ball. Angella then
complains that Catra has stolen her crown. Adora becomes
She-Ra, and decides to get it back. She finds Double
Trouble, and asks her to tell Catra about the ball.
Some time later, Adora and Glimmer try on dresses. However,
Adora's mind is wandering. She thinks about Angella's
crown. She leaves, and decides to practice dancing in
the corridor. Madame Razz enters and creates a magical
gown (that looks surprisingly like Glimmer's gown, by
the way...). But the people of Bright Moon were not
the only people getting ready for the ball, so was Catra.
She took Angella's crown, and headed for Etheria on
Magicat (I thought HER name was Clawdeen? At the ball,
an unattractive Prince Defiant steals Adora away from
Bow. Prince Defiant turns out to be a terrible dancer...
He blames it all on Adora! She leaves, and transforms
into She-Ra. Swift Wind takes her to Catra's tower in
the Fright Zone (How odd that the Fright Zone is shaped
like a cat head). She-Ra finds a prisoner who reveals
himself to be the REAL Prince Defiant. Swift Wind takes
them back to Bright Moon after a short chat with Double
Trouble. They find that Catra has come to the ball.
The fake Prince Defiant crowns her the Queen of the
Ball! Unfortunately, the real Prince Defiant steals
the crown away, and gives it to Angella. Catra and the
Imposter make a fast escape. It ends with Adora and
Prince Defiant dancing (shouldn't Glimmer be upset?).
