She-Ra
and the Surprise Party
Ladybird. 1985
The
rebellion plans a surprise birthday party for Madame
Razz, but when Catra is invited, she plans to spoil
it so that she and Clawdeen can have the presents for
themselves. Meanwhile, She-Ra and Razz visit Madame
Whizz, Razz's old teacher. Razz confides in Whizz that
she thinks everyone has forgotten her birthday.
When
Razz arrives at Castle Brightmoon, the rebels spring
a surprise celebration for her. Catra springs a surprise
of her own when the present she has brought, a green,
metal cat, casts shadow on the Great Hall for a distraction.
Luckily, and unwittingly, the birthday cake carrying
Twiggets foil Catra's evil scheme.
Interesting
points:
-
Madame Razz is celebrating her 1,009th birthday.
-Clawdeen is illustrated more like her cartoon representation
than her toy.
-Kowl is noticeably lighter in colour than in the cartoon.
-Madame Whizz is depicted as an older looking lady than
Madame Razz, and she lives in a ginger-bread house.
-Amongst the presents are a pair of seven-league boots
- no sight, sound or reference to Sea Hawk though.
