Masters
of the Universe Adventure Magazine
UK. Issue #15, 1989.
Orko
the Magician
The old comedy strip from the original MOTU comic series
makes a return in the Adventure magazine- and this one
features Orko trying to straighten up a picture that's
hanging loose... but he gets it wrong, of course.
Feature
story 1: "The Trap of Ages"
Reprinted from an issue of the regular magazine but
I'm not sure which one as it's one I've lost... Hordak
invents a machine that can make people younger. He intends
to use it on He-Man and make him a child, so he can
bring him up to learn his evil ways. He lures He-Man
to the Fright Zone, captures Man-At-Arms, and places
He-Man in the machine. He-Man starts to grow younger-
but the machine returns him to the day when he first
became He-Man- so he changes back to Prince Adam! Since
he is much thinner as Adam, he is able to slip through
the bars, and rescues Man-At-Arms. He then goes back
in the machine, and Man-At-Arms uses it to return him
to his real age and become He-Man again. He-Man then
confronts the Horde, who are too scared to fight him,
and then he and Man-At-Arms return to the palace.
Feature
story 2: "The Dam of Doom"
He-Man, Teela and Orko are alerted by Buzz-Off that
Skeletor and his army are marching towards Grayskull.
Adam goes and changes to He-Man, then joins the other
warriors, who decide to stop Skeletor in the valley
of bones. As He-Man arrives, he finds Skeletor but is
then called by Zoar to the Great Dam. He goes there
as the other warriors deal with Skeletor, and he finds
that Skeletor is working with Hordak and King Hiss to
flood the countryside. They have damaged the dam, but
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe repair it.
Laugh
With Leech!
A selection of jokes about the Horde members.
Feature
story 3: "When Strikes Konzilla"
Reprinted from the original magazine series.
Poster
The back cover of this issue features a very strange
poster... showing Teela holding the sword of power (why
is SHE holding it?) with flames emitting from the center-
and Orko seems to be trying to get it off her. It also
shows Battle Cat, but for some reason without his armor,
seemingly growling... there's also He-Man's face, and
what looks like a lizard tail coming from nowhere...
and King Randor, sitting in the Sorceress' throne! What
on Earth was the artist who drew this poster thinking
of?
