Antony DeLongis (Blade)
Pons Maar (Saurod)
Robert Towers (Karg)
Tony Carroll (Beast Man)
Karg,
Skeletor's malevolent toady, is preparing to enter the
time warp in pursuit of the all-important Cosmic Key.
And he will not travel alone.
"I will take two of the cyborgs," hisses Karg
(Robert Towers). "The sharp senses of Beastman
(Tony Carroll) and Saurod (Pons Maar) will help track
down the prey."
At Skeletor's very strong suggestion, Karg reluctantly
agrees to take another Eternian bounty hunter, Blade
(Anthony De Longis).
While the working relationship between this unholy alliance
is shaky, production designer Bill Stout had a fine
old time creating these latest additions to the "Masters"
universe.
"Karg is one of those great little evil creatures,"
says Stout. "I saw him from the beginning as a
half-human, half-bat creature with strange dental tools
to do his dirty work."
Stout notes that Skeletor's henchmen were fairly easy
to design -- with the sole exception of Beastman.
"I must have handed in at least 25 different sketches
of Beastman," he recalls. "For a long time,
it was up in the air just how he would look. Should
the Beastman be more animal or more human? But we finally
came up with a design that satisfied everybody."
Everybody except perhaps the Master of Cosmic Evil,
Skeletor. He quickly grows tired of the bounty hunters'
childish bickering.
"Find the Cosmic Key and kill any refugees from
Eternia," booms Skeletor. "To fail me will
be close to treason. And you know what I do to traitors."
