Description

The Star Comics series begins it's final story, a book-end to their run. And the increase in the quality of writing is so dramatic that one is hard-pressed to believe it is even the same series.

Adam is wracked with doubt and bitterness, at the fact that he constantly have to hide his true nature, that he is He-man. Pretending to be a bumbling, lazy, womanizing fool, while his alter-ego earns the respect and admiration of his fellow Heroic Warriors, yes even the love of Teela. It is simply too much, and he informs Man-At-Arms that he quits. He-man is no more, he will never summon the power of Grayskull again. He will join the Heroic Warriors himself, and fight for good in his own guise. Man-At-Arms tries to make him change his mind, but Adam is resolute. He has hardly taken 3 steps outside Duncan's lab however, before his sombre is interrupted by a scream! Man-At-Arms is dangling from the steely hands of Skeletor, defeated!

Adam has no choice but to surrender, as without the Power Sword he cannot defeat the Lord of Destruction. Skeletor reveals his plan, to take them prisoner and when He-man comes to save them, he will detonate a chronal bomb, primed to He-mans brain-wave patterns, that will send the Most Powerful Man in the Universe into the distant future, ridding him from the world. However, since Adam's brainwaves are the same as He-man's, the coundown starts, much to the surprise of Skeletor. Adam reacts instinctively, and is able to reach the Power Sword he left in Duncan's lab, he throws it into the bomb, causing it to malfunction and implode on itself. Skeletor teleports away, his plan seemingly foiled...

But unknowing to himself, the bomb was a success, the damage has been done! The Power Sword is GONE! Lost in time and space possibly forever. Man-At-Arms traces the temporal energy however, as the wormhole opened by the bomb is still open, and sends Adam after the sword, via a teleporter he modifies for the task. Adam arrives in the future, only to face the biggest shock of his life! He-man IS DEAD!

Skeletor now rules Eternia, with an ironed fist. Grayskull has fallen, the Power now rests within the hands of the Lord of Destruction! Dissenters are immediately arrested and taken to hellish prison camps! Children are taken from an early age, brainwashed to be Skeletors loyal troops! The people all around Eternia are starving!

Snake Mountain has been converted into a giant work-camp, where those that oppose Skeletors rule ultimately end up, Adam as well. There he finds his parents, the former King and Queen have been imprisoned there, for almost 30 years! He finally reveals his secret to them, and they give him a weapon, a blaster that Randor have been working on for years.
