What is the Go Advanced button under some description boxes, and should I use it?
This is very important!
By default, the description boxes that have a Go Advanced button under them are HTML based. Meaning, if you don't use HTML formatting/code in them when you type, it won't preserve any of your formatting.
We STRONGLY recommend you Go Advanced in all descrption boxes where that option is present BEFORE adding text. This will allow you to format it properly if you aren't an expert at using HTML.
Why are there no help guides for the other Collecting sections? (Merchandising, Publishing, etc)
Eventually we plan to add guides for every major section.
But for now, the guides here in the Basic Site Use cover the functionality of those Collecting sections.
As long as you stick to the Add/Modify Content guides and the Add/Reuse Image guides here in this Help, you should be prepared to tackle those sections with ease.
The one guide that you may really need that is missing is the Cartoon section guide.
We hope to have that one done soon. In the meantime, we ask fans to do their best to map their way through it based on the functionality in other guides. And our apologies that particular guide is not yet available.
Why doesn't my new content or my modification to an entry show up on the page after I have Saved Changes and Exited?
Once you clicked Save Changes and Exit, your changes won't immediately show on the page. The new content is first placed in a queue where it will be reviewed by the Site Editors as soon as possible.
After your content is approved, it will then be displayed and will be available again for further modifications.
We can't provide an exact time for approval. It may be an hour, it may be a couple of days. It all depends on when a Site Editor is available. Our apologies for any lengthy delay in approval.
The Site Editors reserve the right to modify/reject any and all content for any reason.
Why does it say the page is Locked when I try to modify it?
A page can be locked for one of the following reasons:
We recommend that you never leave a page without Saving Changes or clicking Cancel. If you don't do that, the page will remain Locked until a Site Editor unlocks it!
If you notice a page has remained Locked for more than 3 days, please contact the section's Site Editor(s).
Please note that Administators can permanently disable editing features for some pages to prevent them to be further modified.
Who should I contact if I have questions or need assistance?
If you have questions or require assistance for something not addressed in the Help section, send a PM through the site's forum to one of the Site Editors or the Administrators (a list will be available soon)
To help users Search and find content more easily, He-Man.org has implemented a tagging system.
Basically every entry Page of the site has a Tags box at the bottom of the Editing Options box found on the right hand side of the screen. While you are in Edit Mode, this Tags box will be available and you can add multiple tags, which need to separated by commas.
We encourage everyone to add pertinent and meaningful tags to each page, which will help fellow users have a better experience when Searching the site.
Any Registered User can submit news to He-Man.org.
Submitted news is queued and then awaits Site Editor approval.
Since news appears on the homepage, we reccomend taking extra care when composing your news entry and when choosing the Subject title.
We reserve the right to reject or edit any news/content for any reason.
Please note: The most recent news entries will automatically go on the homepage once approved, but Headlines can be chosen by He-Man.org's Administrators and may be older news entries of significance.

How to add a variation to a Toy:
Important info on adding a Toy Variant!
The default toy series are all the USA series.
But not all figure variants are from the USA series.
So it is extremely important that variants match the country of origin!
For example, in the USA Original MOTU toy series, two of Skeletor's variations were:
Full Boot (where purple went all the way around his foot)
and Half Boot (where purple was only applied to the front half of Skeletor's lower legs).
If one of these has been added already, then this is a perfect example of where the other would need to be added following the "How to add a variation to a Toy" instructions above.
As a counter example, in the Original MOTU toy series, there is a variation of Mosquitor where the fluid in his torso is black instead of red.
BUT, this figure was not a variant released in the USA. It was only released in Argentina.
So to properly add this figure, you would:
It's okay if you do not know the figure's country of origin. This info is here mostly for hardcore collectors who are aware of this info.
But we ask that you research this the best you can before adding a variant.
And if you see a variant added to an incorrect country, please notify a Site Editor. Thank you!

How to navigate in the Encyclopedia:
Upon visiting the Encyclopedia section of the site, Objects are divided by visual categories in the center of the screen, and on a menu on the left hand side of the screen. The available categories are:
You can also browse the Encyclopedia Objects by Appearances or by Series, using the menus on the left hand side of the screen.
Due to the mutliple Series and various incarnations MOTU has had over the years, the canons don't necessarily connect to each other. Therefore, we have chosen to split each object into every possible version that might have existed.
Once you are on an Encyclopedia's Object page, you can select which version of that Object you want to look at.
By selecting from the "Choose Series" drop down menu to the right of the Object's name, you can view its Series incarnation from:
Once you have selected a Series, you can look at all that Object's different Media Appearances during that series by clicking on the individual tabs in the center of the screen.
The different Media Appearences tabs are:
IMPORTANT: if a tab doens't yet contain Series content for that object, it will be inactive and you cannot click on it.
This will be why a tab is grayed out, or why you cannot change the Series when on an active tab (because that same tab in another Series incarnation is empty)
But what if you want to modify an object in order to add content to inactive tabs, or add/modify info in an existing tab?
As with the rest of the site, the Encyclopedia is totally interactive and you can add content virtually everywhere. Keep reading to find out how.

He-Man.org will help you keep track of your collection!
Whether you're just a casual toy/comic collector or you're an uber-fan who collects everything with the words MOTU on it, by using the He-Man.org user collection database you can keep a complete list of the boxed and loose items in your collection. You can even create a want list that you can share with other members on the board!

How to see and manage your Collection Database:
You can view your "Have list" and your "Want list" from any item page on the site, by clicking on the "your have list" and "your want list" links in the Section Options box on the right hand side of the screen.
You can also view them by going the main page of your Collection Database using the "My Collection Database" link in the main navigation bar at the top of the screen, found under "Collecting"
From this page you can review both the "Have List" and "Want list", add photos of your collection or display, set visibility and display options for your lists and browse other users Collection Databases
You can move items bewteen your "Have list" and "Want list" (for example, when you buy an item you were looking for).
If you want to remove an item from one of the lists:
Using the Have/Want lists when you are on the series list pages are just for casual fans who don't really care what variation of the figure they own.
But as the die-hard MOTU Toy collectors know, MOTU toys, especially vintage figures, have numerous variations. The He-Man.org user collection database has been designed to allow the collector to specify what variants they have or want.
To put the exact variation in your lists, don't add toys from the series list pages.
First visit each item's individual page then you navigate to the specific variation of interest within an item. As long as that variation has been added to the site, once you have the specific variation page loaded, add it to your Have or Want list.
Please note: As mentioned above, the variation archive is still under construction, so you may not found all the variations you want to add to your list. If you have more info and maybe photos, please contribute to our toy collection guides and add the missing variation by following the above guides! Thank you.
