Masters Of The Universe
"Masters of the Universe, a.k.a. He-Man, is not currently
in syndication, but many collectors have entered the market.
During the last few months, however, there has been a sudden
surge in demand for loose NM complete and MOC pieces. The
vehicles are in moderate demand, but they are plentiful and
cheap at this time. Don't expect things to stay that way,
though. For example, the Attack Trak and Dragon Walker are
classic vehicles from this line, yet they can be acquired
for $10-$15 loose and $40 MIB. As people complete their figure
collection, though, they will certainly go after favored accessories
like these, which will result in, you guessed it, a jump in
value. My advice to anyone who wants to collect or invest
in He-Man is to buy items like these that are cheap now. The
figures are already on the way up, so catch pieces like Roton,
etc., before they begin the inevitable climb. Some accessories
have already hit high dollar though, especially the "Power
of Grayskull" series dinosaurs and Eternia playset. Eternia
is next to impossible to find complete. When it is available,
though a loose NM complete specimen commands a fast $250,
and the piece MIB is worth $500-$600, depending on condition.
Among the dinos, the Tyrannosaurus Rex is the toughest and
hottest, commanding $75 loose, NM complete and $150-$250 MIB.
Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain, both of which command
$50 loose NM complete and $100-$125 MIB, are also highly poplular.
Among figures, the toughest to find are the first series originals
and the final assortment. Values for the first series range
from $8-$15 loose NM complete and $25-$50 MOC. The highest
dollar pieces are the later series ones, especially Scare
Glow ($40 loose, $100 MOC), Rotar and Twistoid ($40 loose,
$75 MOC each), Saurod, King Hiss and Sorceress ($25 loose,
$50-$60 MOC each."
