Many moons ago (1991!) me and my best friend, Samantha, discovered the Princess Of Power series together. Actually, I'd been watching it since 1990, but anyhoo, they were just repeats (seeing neither of us had been born in time to catch the originals). Me and Sam were overjoyed when we found out that we were both starting year one at the same school! That's when the She-Ra series really kicked in. Oneday, we were just talking and wishing that we were certain characters. Then we came up with the idea of role play! Of course we didn't call it that, but Sam and I ran around the school screaming 'For the honor of Graystone, I am She-Wa!'! Yes, you read right! Hey, even though she played She-Ra/Adora and I was playing Swift Wind/Spirit, I still yelled that line at the top of my lungs. I had a cord on my school hat... Dad wasn't too impressed when he found it snapped due to the fact that Sam had been using it as reigns! But after seven or eight times, he got used to it! I can still remember trotting about with Sammy 'flying' me making the MOST pathetic whinnying sounds.

There was one time I got it into my head that I could fly like that bloody horse- it wasn't pretty, but no real PHYSICAL injuries! I only ever did one drawing of Swifty in grade one, but that memory sure is stuck in my head! The teacher asked us to draw something we loved to do, like sit on the beach or have a book read to us- The picture wasn't exact, but it still looked pretty good in my opinion! Several times there was a, heh heh, guest character when our 'friend' Rebecca joined in. She played Shadow Weaver, suprisingly enough! I can still recall Sam hiding in the trees with Beka guarding her yelling 'Help me, Swift Wind, help me!', then me and Rebecca getting in this fight in role play... trouble was, I kinda took it into real life- punching, scratching and refusing to talk to her in class! Kind of ironic of how nowadays Shadow Weaver is my absolute idol, huh? Speaking of her, Weaver was the one character I despised in the series back in '90-92... she really scared me! Damn, I wish those days lived again!
