  2006- Part B (May - August)
- Part A - Part C -

August 30

A number of questions have popped up lately about the busts and statues from NECA and the Four Horsemen. And some answers have finally come to light.

A big concern for fans lately has been the 15" Castle Grayskull door, which fans were slated to get for free if they could provide proof of purchase for the first four 15" statues (Skeletor, Clawful, Sorceress & Tri-Klops).
At first it seemed as though NECA only produced 50 of the doors, which was a far cry from the number of statues produced. Many fans became concerned if they would even get a door, as reports soon filtered in that the doors were already out of stock.
NECA has let us know that they are currently working to get more doors in stock, but they are not yet sure of the possible quantity.
They want fans to know that the numbering on the outside of the shipping box (which is what showed a quantity of 50) only pertains to the shipment itself and not the production run of the door.
NECA is also working to get doors for everyone who can provide proof or purchase for all four statues, not just for people who ordered through the Collector's Club as previously feared.
For international fans who purchased all four 15" statues, there's a slight catch. The door is extremely heavy. Because of international freight costs, NECA cannot afford to ship this item for free and is asking international fans to pay for the shipping charge just as they would for any other product.

Another question fans had is if the convention exclusive Evil-Lyn Mini-Statue (with classic colors) would be available to fans outside of the cons.
NECA has let us know that she will indeed be available in the future for sale via the online Collector's Club. They are currently checking the inventory on these Mini-Statues and will put them up for sale as soon as this is done. They are not sure how long this will take to complete.

Lastly, fans have been itching to know when some of the upcoming bust and statues products will be available. NECA has provided us a tentative release schedule. Please bear in mind, these dates are subject to change.

  • Wave 4 Mini-Statues (Leech, Snake Face, Webstor) - OCTOBER 2006
  • 15" Trapjaw Statue – NOVEMBER 2006
  • 8" Zodak Mini-Bust – NOVEMBER 2006
  • King Randor repaint Mini-Statue (AFX Exclusive) - FALL 2006
  • Wave 5 Mini-Statues (Rio Blast, Sssqueeze, Evil-Lyn) - FEBRUARY 2007
  • 15" He-Man Statue – FEBRUARY 2007
  • Kobra Khan Mini-Statue (Exclusive for unrevealed retailer) - SPRING 2007

Check out the Masters Cast San Diego Comic-Con special episode!

We've been meaning to endorse this podcast for a while, and this is the perfect chance to do it.
Masters Cast, the first He-Man and She-Ra podcast, recorded their latest episode live on the floor of the San Diego International Comic-Con. The podcast recaps the events of this year's convention and includes exclusive interviews with Lou Scheimer, Erika Scheimer, Larry DiTillio, James "BustaToons" Eatock, Val Staples, and Eamon O’Donoghue.
The episode is available for download in mp3 format via this link.

Interested in experiencing the convention floor yourself? Masters Cast also has the interview with Lou and Erika Scheimer available as a video download. (QuickTime 7 required for viewing)

Masters Cast began on October 16, 2005 and is hosted by fellow fans Jon "TheShadow" Kallis, Josh "Lioncourt" Johnson, and Katy "Rainbow Brite" Cartee. To find out how to subscribe to this podcast for free, or to download previous episodes, please visit masterscast.com.

An important note about Amazon orders and other support for He-Man.org
Some of you out there place your orders at Amazon.com and other endorsed retailers here on He-Man.org to help support this site.
We're very grateful for your help.
But it's come to our attention that retailers e-mail fans directly to notify them of upcoming products.
The only way your orders support this site is if you click on the links from this main page. Links retailers send you directly, or just going to the retailer's site on your own because we've mentioned them, etc, does not help He-man.org.
You have to click on the links here in order for us to receive credit for any order you place.

Also remember that once you visit these retailers from the links here on the main page, anything you order at that site helps support He-Man.org.
For example, let's say you want to pick up a HotWheels DVD from Amazon. And you also like helping to support this site. Well, if you click on one of the Amazon links here on the main page, once you are at the site you can then navigate to the HotWheels DVD using their search features and product links, then order the DVD. The order helps us at the same time.
It costs you nothing extra, and helps chip in a little for the large cost of running this site.
And that applies to any retailer linked to from this main page.

Thanks again for all of your support!

Update on the SOTS DVD variant presale:
Eleven days into the presale and we've already presold over 400 copies.
We plan to take 400 copies to Wizard World Chicago.
This leaves less than 200 copies available for presale! So if you aren't attending the con, and want one of these, make sure to order as soon as you can.

San Diego Comic Con saw its busiest year ever, with a record number of attendees said to be in the 170,000 range.
And the record attendance was felt at the BCI booth!
BCI sold out of all 800 She-Ra t-shirts, which you got for free with the purchase of a Best of She-Ra DVD at the con, by early Saturday morning. Then they continued to sell DVDs through closing on Sunday. This marks incredible interest in the release of She-Ra on DVD!
Not to mention all 10,000 She-Ra, 10,000 Ultraman and 10,000 Flash Gordon temporarily tattoos were scooped up by midday Saturday.

Then there were sights to behold over at the NECA booth, where the Four Horsemen revealed the final sculpts for Wave 5 of the 6" Mini-Statue line, as well as some upcoming exclusives, and a new 14" statue!
Wave 5 will see the release of a resculpted Evil-Lyn, Sssqueeze and Rio Blast!
There will also be an AFX exclusive repaint of King Randor, that comes with a shield instead of his staff and a new furry cape!
Plus there will be an exclusive Kobra Khan station with a yet-to-be-revealed retailer.
The Four Horsemen also revealed the 6th statue, which is a new sculpt of He-Man!
Check out the images of what's to come!

Preorder your Secret of the Sword DVD variant - Limited to only 1000 copies worldwide! And only available through us!
We really don't expect to sell out at Wizard World. But a lot of you have expressed concern that it may happen, and you won't be able to get one because you aren't attending the convention.
So just to make sure that doesn't happen, we're going to go ahead and offer presales to fans everywhere so we know how many to set aside.
If you are attending Wizard World Chicago, you do not need to preorder. We will have plenty at the show. You can still preorder it if you want, but you won't be able to pick up a preordered copy at the convention. Preordered copies will only be shipped at the shipping costs below.

The SOTS region 1 variant DVDs are extremely limited... only 1000 copies to be exact.
These DVDs have exclusive packaging inside and out, as well as exclusive art cards.
The disc content (episodes, special features, etc) is the same as the regular Best Of She-Ra edition that you can buy in stores.
This special packaging focuses on the Secret of the Sword movie contained within, with a special homage cover to the theatrical poster.
The MSRP is 50.00 each due to the rarity, but we're going to bite the bullet and offer it up to fans for 35.00 each here on He-man.org and at the convention.
There is no limit to how many you can buy (in case you wanted more than one).

Secret of the Sword is returning to theaters for a short time!

Entertainment Rights has passed along this press release about the return of the animated feature film for a short while in select theaters.
Entertainment Rights Plc ("ER"), one of the UK's leading independent media groups specialising in the ownership of children's and family programming, characters and brands announces today an agreement with Kidtoon Films which will see Secret of the Sword appear in US movie theatres.

Kidtoon Films is a leading US children's film distributor and Secret of the Sword will be screened throughout the US during May 2006 targeted at weekend children's matinee slots. The screenings will be supported by a comprehensive marketing campaign in 25 cities throughout the country including New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston and Washington DC.

Today's announcement follows the appointment of BCI Navarre as ER's DVD distributor for She-Ra in the US. BCI will release the first ever
She-Ra DVD (The Best of She-Ra: Princess of Power) into the US market in Summer 2006. BCI also successfully distributes ER's He-Man and the Masters of the Universe on DVD in the US. In excess of 410,000 DVD units (combined sales of all releases) have been sold since the first He-Man DVD was released in July 2005.

Additionally, She-Ra will be the first ER brand to be adapted as short form programming and the repurposing of existing classic episodes is currently in production as part of an initial package of 200 shorts.
This follows ER's recent announcement that, in response to the increased demand for shorter segments of programming suitable for digital devices, mobiles and downloads, it has commissioned Magic Lantern to adapt existing programming and create new content for the rapidly growing digital media market. (More than likely, this just means wallpapers and snip-its from classic episodes for download on mobile phones. We here at He-Man.org wanted to point this out to help avoid speculation and rumors)
Kathleen Hrick, EVP & MD, US, Canada, Latin America, Entertainment Rights commented: "She-Ra is a strong, iconic female character who is recognised around the world. This exciting activity is the first step towards repositioning the She-Ra brand. The cinema release coupled with the DVD release and the introduction of digital short form programming opens up further opportunities for the She-Ra brand across music, live events and consumer products."

Fans can use Movies.com to search to see if Secret of the Sword is playing in your area.
