Savebyart.com is holding a He-Man
& She-Ra Silent Art Auction & Exhibit.
Proceeds from the auction go to the SickKids
Foundation, which is a very worthy cause.
The auction is on Thursday, March 29th in Toronto, Ontario,
Canada.
Tickets are 5.00 in advance, 10.00 at the door.
A bunch of talented artists are donating their He-Man and
She-ra themed artwork to the cause. If you are in the area,
we hope you'll stop by the show.

A glimmer of hope for a new He-Man movie? You be the judge.
While you should still be very weary of any fan-posted info
you find on IMDB.com, Adam Rifkin (attached writer to the
now defunct He-Man / John Woo project) gave up some interesting
info at a Q&A over at moviehole.net.
He-Man user Tallstar asked Rifkin if he had any info about
the MOTU movie, he responded with:
"Legally I’m not allowed to say much concerning
HE-MAN, however I can say this: HE-MAN is a movie that’s
definitely going to be made! Where and with whom are all pretty
top secret at present, but when the shroud of mystery is finally
lifted I can promise you, HE-MAN fans will not be disappointed."
This
raises some eyebrows, considering the company Rifkin was previously
hired to write the screenplay for has publicly stated the
rights for the movie have reverted back to Mattel. Mattel
has also stated nothing is currently in development in regards
to the movie.
Perhaps it's wishful thinking on Rifkin's part to keep He-Man
alive, maybe it's a ruse, or maybe he knows something we don't!
Anything is possible at this point.
In
all seriousness, if the new Transformers movie does well then
the odds are extremely high for a new MOTU movie. And with
buzz already strong on Transformers, it will probably at least
open strong, which will turn movie studio eyes to 80s-based
properties for live-action movies. So it's not a stretch for
anyone to claim a new He-Man movie is coming... the chances
are pretty good for something to happen if you think
about it logically.
If we know anything concrete, we'll keep you posted!

A lot of people are e-mailing us about some new info that
appeared on IMDB.com about a MOTU movie scheduled for 2008.
So, we're just going to repost what we said about IMDB.com
on January 4th of last year, but edit it to make it relevant
to this entry.
Sorry about being the wet blanket, folks.
We
know many of you have high hopes about there being a new MOTU
movie.
And from time to time, some fans send us info they've found
online about release dates, actors, etc that they think we've
either forgotten to post, don't know about, etc.
We hate to bring bad news, but please note that much of what
you read online are simply rumors that fan
news sites post from fan info or gather from Internet
Movie Database.com.
An important thing for you to note is that IMDB.com
is not an official database. The vast majority of
information posted on that site comes from fans just like
you.
What you see posted about the MOTU
movie on IMDB.com is almost entirely rumor based.
As it stands, there is no movement on the MOTU movie. It will
not be out in 2008, there is no studio attached, it has not
been assigned a budget and there is no cast or film crew.
The reality is that the movie rights lapsed and were returned
to Mattel. Mattel has told us nothing is currently in development.
Because of this, when there is official news, we will be sure
to post it.
Until then, everything you read online should be taken with
a grain of salt. Especially if you find it on IMDB.com.
Sorry!
But keep those fingers crossed! Hopefully a new movie will
happen one day in the future. Let's hope that the new live-action
Transformers movie is a smash hit and studios go flocking
to Mattel in hopes of filming a new He-Man movie!

ToyFare
#116 (on sale now) gives fans a sneak peak at the Jitsu
sculpt for Wave 6.
And the Four Horsemen have sent that sneak peak our way for
fans to enjoy.
And
you may have noticed the Skeletor 8" mini-bust for preorder
from yesterday's news. Some fans have asked what this is. Well,
surprise! It's the next to follow Zodak in the line of 8"
mini-busts.
We'll be sure to post photos of this, and more of Wave 6, as
they become available!
The lineup for Wave 6 of the 6" Mini-Statues from NECA
and the Four Horsemen have been revealed.
Hopefully before late summer / early fall, we will see the
release of: Mosquitor

and a redo of He-Man
The Four Horsemen have been really slammed trying to prepare
for this year's Toy Fair. So it will be a while before we
see images of this Wave 6. But we'll be sure to post them
as soon as they are revealed.

a 100 copies of the limited run of 1000 are left before
it is completely sold out.

speaking of exclusives, AFX has passed along some news about
international fans wanting to order their exclusive King Randor
staction repaint, but are waiting for when they are in stock
so they can choose the cheaper shipping through the United
States Postal Service.
International customers can now order King Randor at a cheaper
shipping price by choosing USPS worldwide (NOT UPS worldwide
expedited) as long as they are only ordering one statue.
Oordering more than one King Randor staction via USPS will
still be cheaper than UPS, but the shipping price increases

The New Adventures of He-Man Volume Two will
hit stores this March 27th!
This
is the second release in a two volume set that will include
all 65 original episodes of the popular animated saga. Both

Could
a new She-ra be right around the corner?
Genius Products has announced a long-term co-production and
distribution agreement with Entertainment Rights Plc and Classic
Media.
This agreement includes home video and digital distribution
rights for new She-Ra content.
We're not entirely sure what this may mean, if anything, at
this point in time. But we sure are excited! Click

been getting a lot of requests about how to buy a classic
Shadow Weaver figure.
Seems a custom figure MOC job that was on eBay has stirred
up some fans out there into thinking a Shadow Weaver actually
exists.
Sorry, folks, but she was never created.
Forum user and custom figure creator Tirpitz
is the mastermind behind that custom figure that was on eBay.
It looks really good, too! But it's not an authentic figure
produced by Mattel.
