2008- Part A (January - April)
-Part B - Part C -

March 31

We've updated the March 12th graphic, and we're about half way there!
Thanks so much to everyone who has donated so far in our fund raiser.

Also, this is very important!
About one third of people who donated have still not responded to Adora's e-mail requesting more info!
If you don't respond to the e-mail, we will not be able to update your account with the corresponding Tier package.
Please respond right away, and check your Junk/Spam folder for her e-mail if you did not get it.
And if you still can't find the e-mail from Adora, please contact us here at He-Man.org and let us know.
Thanks!

March 25

Donators: keep an eye out for an e-mail from He-Man.org!
You will be getting an e-mail from Adora in the near future.
She will be asking for information we need for our donation records.
Please response right away, so we can get this info updated and quickly move onto the Tier setups.
Sometimes notices from He-Man.org end up your spam/junk folder, so please check regularly to make sure we didn't get filtered out!
Thanks!

March 22

We are sold out of the BestBuy DVD sets.
Thanks to everyone who ordered!
We will start mailing these towards the end of this coming week.

March 20

We got a another bump to the fund raiser, as you can see in the sword graphic below.
Thanks to everyone who has donated thus far!

Sean Phillips, artist on Marvel Zombies and the award-winning Criminal series, has completed his art for the Tier 4 raffle.
Check out his zombie He-man!

We hope to have all of the donations entered into our records this weekend. After we do, we'll begin sending out info on how to setup your fan e-mail addresses as well as start implementing the Warrior badges on the forum.

Also, we recently received the replacement Volume 1 DVD discs and gift art cards from BCI! (Thanks, BCI!)
We hope to have those all packaged up over the weekend, and then start shipping them late next week!
We still have 9 copies left for any fans still interested in a Best Buy exclusive.
Thanks!

March 12

We're a little over two months into our fund raiser for the proposed site overhaul.
There is still a ways to go before we reach our goal.
We know many of you still hope to donate and haven't had the opportunity.
So we've added a status graphic, thanks to He-Fan Jukka, to show you how far along we are and how badly we need your donation.

As a teaser, Emiliano has given fans a taste of the look to come, with an overhaul to the forums. Check out the new loook!

And, in an effort to sweeten the deal, we've devised the following tier donation system.
And for fans who have already donated, don't worry! Whatever you previously donated in this 2008 fund raiser goes towards the tiers below!

If you want to donate more to reach the desired tier of your choice,
use the Donate What you Can button below to specify your donation amount.
We'll be automatically keeping track of multiple donations from the same person, but feel free to e-mail us to verify. We may take a few days to get back to you, so don't be alarmed by any delays.

If you don't have PayPal,
then please mail in a donation.
Send a money order, personal check, even cash if you must!
Please send it to:
     MVCreations
     PO Box 1870
     Richmond, KY 40476
     USA

And please be sure to read this site's Terms and Conditions before making any donation!

All tiers are compounded from level 4 and down.
For example, if you donate for Tier 4, you also get what comes with Tiers 1, 2 and 3.
So the more you donate, the more you get!
If you donate for level 5, 6 or 7, you still get everything in tiers 1 thru 4. But the discounts on commissions don't compound. We don't want to kill poor Emiliano, after all!

Plus, you don't have to donate all at one time. You can keep donating until the fund raiser ends in late April; possibly even mid May.

The tiers don't take effect until after the fund raiser is over. It's going to take a while for us to input all of the donations into our records, and to get some of this stuff set up.

Tier 1:
Every 10.00 donation automatically enters you into a drawing for one of the following items:

  • She-Ra: Princess of Power - Season 2 DVD set (3 copies available)
  • She-Ra: Princess of Power - Best of DVD (2 copies available)
  • He-Man and the Masters of the Universe - Season 1 Volume 2 DVD Set
  • Masters of the Universe: Shard of Darkness trade paperback (3 copies available)
  • Masters of the Universe: Dark Reflections trade paperback (3 copies available)
  • Masters of the Universe: Icons of Evil trade paperback (3 copies available)

Donated by Tons of Toys.com:

  • Classic Masters of the Universe Stamp from Italy (10 stamps available, characters selected randomly)
  • A classic set of Role Play He-Man weapons
  • A classic set of Role Play Skeletor weapons
  • A classic MOTU school backpack from Spain
  • ...and more prizes as we get them!

You can only enter the raffle once.
All winners will be selected randomly until all prizes are handed out.
Prizes are not insured, so delivery is not guaranteed. Winners will have the option to pay more for insurance, if they would like.

Tier 2:
Every 20.00 donation also entitles existing registered users to one username change.
It has always been our policy not to change usernames on the forums to avoid confusion between users, because a person's username is their identity in the fan community.
But some users still want to freshen things up from time to time.
So, we figured that if you're willing to donate more than the average person to the site overhaul, then you deserve a chance to give your identity an overhaul.

Tier 3:
Every 30.00 donation also entitles you to:

  • a larger forum avatar (from the default of 85 pixels to 125 pixels)
  • a larger PM (private message) Inbox
  • a special color coded username on the forums to show your Tier 3 support for this site
  • a free fan e-mail address from either he-fans.com or she-ravers.com
  • the option to register to the forum using your free he-fans.com or she-ravers.com address

Keep in mind, we still allow registration for free with a paid e-mail service!

Tier 4:
Every 50.00 donation makes you a Bronze Warrior,
with the following badge shown under your username on the forums:

You are also automatically entered into a drawing for one of the following original pieces of art (to be shown later):

  • classic He-Man pose seen on the Best of He-Man DVD, by Emiliano Santalucia
  • classic Man-At-Arms pose seen on the Best of He-Man DVD, by Emiliano Santalucia
  • classic She-Ra pose seen on She-Ra Season 1 Vol 2 DVD, by Emiliano Santalucia
  • Sorceress piece, by Nathan Baertsch (Baena)
  • He-Man piece, by Ryan Ottley (artist on Invincible)
  • Zombified He-Man piece, by Sean Phillips (artist on Marvel Zombies)

Winning artwork will be automatically shipped with insurance for 50.00; full value will be declared through customs.

Tier 5:
Every 100.00 donation makes you a Silver Warrior,
with the following badge shown under your username on the forums:

You are also entitled to 50.00 off a future commission from Emiliano Santalucia (but only when Emiliano once again offers commissions)

Tier 6:
Every 150.00 donation makes you a Gold Warrior,
with the following badge shown under your username on the forums:

You are also entitled to 100.00 off a future commission from Emiliano Santalucia (but only when Emiliano once again offers commissions)

Tier 7:
Every 200.00 or higher donation makes you a Grayskull Warrior, an elite He-Man.org fan,
with the following badge shown under your username on the forums:

You are also entitled to 150.00 off a future commission from Emiliano Santalucia (but only when Emiliano once again offers commissions)

Thank you for your support!

We need fans near Sicily, Italy and Kentucky, USA with high-def video cameras!

We need the help of a fan who lives relatively close to Kentucky, USA
and one who lives relatively close to Sicily, Italy,
who both own a 1080 high definition video camera with decent sound capabilities,
who would both be willing to come film some interview footage.

If all goes well, this footage will be used in a documentary on the Volume 3 DVD release of the Mike Young Productions MOTU cartoon.

In exchange for your help, you'll be immortalized for all time in the credits of the documentary and you'll receive a few complementary copies of the DVD.

This is something that we need to do in the next few weeks.
So if anyone can help, please contact us right away.

Thanks in advance!

There's been some debate that a classic He-Man might not work in a new cartoon or comic.
So Emiliano Santalucia, main artist from the 2002 comic series and illustrator on the BCI packaging for the classic and MYP cartoon series sets, took up the challenge with a quick sketch based off the design of the prototype shown at last year's San Diego Comic Con.

Toy Fair 2008 officially started this past Sunday in New York City, and He-Fan customcrazy was there to ask some of the questions that He-Fans have been eager to get answers for.  Two of the big questions were:
Will NECA be continuing the mini-statues?
What are Mattel's plans for the future of Masters of the Universe?

While we're still waiting on a statement from the Four Horsemen, NECA's Randy Falk confirmed that they are "moving away from Masters", and that at this point it's doubtful anything will be produced beyond what has already been announced.

As for the Mattel side of things, customcrazy reported the following:
"I haven't been to their showroom yet but I did talk to some folks at their booth in the main Toy Fair event. There was nothing new on display there (never is), but when I asked about MOTU they said they weren't at liberty to say anything yet but there are wheels in motion and they are very passionate about the brand and getting something to market that fans will be pleased with. What exactly that means is tough to say, but he did imply there's something at least being discussed. If anyone else is at Toy Fair and has been to the off-site showroom they may have some more info, but that's mostly for media so I may or may not be able to see anything there."

With NECA pulling back and Mattel once again speaking about upcoming MOTU plans, this increases the odds yet again that something for MOTU could be right around the corner!

The BestBuy DVDs are selling steadily!
We're about half-way through the limited quantity we had allocated to He-Man.org
If anyone is interested, we're going to open the door to people in the US just in case some of you don't have a local BestBuy and aren't ordering online.
We're selling the DVD for 30.00 plus shipping.  These final prices are below.

international delivery = anywhere outside of the USA
domestic delivery = continental 48 US states, Alaska, Hawaii, APOs and US Territories

The payment amounts, including shipping , are as follows:

  • international delivery - 48.00 - uninsured; allow up to 2 months for delivery; we're not responsible for lost/damaged items
  • international delivery - 58.00 - insured; allow up to 2 months for delivery
  • domestic delivery - 35.50 - uninsured; allow up to 4 weeks for delivery; we're not responsible for lost/damaged items
  • domestic delivery - 37.50 - insured; allow up to 4 weeks for delivery

To pay, please use the Donate What You Can PayPal link in the March 12th news.
Don't worry, we can tell from the price paid that this is for a DVD.
We will respond to your PayPal payment to let you know we will be sending your DVD soon!

A few notes about cost:

  • We're buying these at full retail price from Best Buy.  Any extra in the 30.00 base cost goes towards gas, padded packaging and to help this site.
  • The shipping time is supposed to be a worst-case scenario.  We hope to have the DVDs and the replacement disc package in about a week. The time after that is what the USPS tells us might happen in case of a shipping delay.
  • The international shipping cost should cover anywhere in the world.  We'll handle partial refunds on a case-by-case basis if shipping turns out to be substantially cheaper for your order.

Thanks again to BCI and BestBuy for offering this to fans,
and thanks to you for your support!

February 15

A report earlier this week lead to discovery of a potential problem with a missing segment of one of the episodes in the MYP Volume 1 release from BCI. BCI Guy has sent an update on the issue:

"Sorry for the delay getting back to everyone, but I needed to make sure we were totally sure what happened, how we could fix it, and what we could do about it before reporting anything.

The masters that we received from Mattel are complete - the scene is not missing. The problem was in authoring. There is a layer break in the episode (Disc 1, Episode 4) and when the layer switches, it skips over about 3 minutes of the program. Unfortunately, it's during a transition and there is no visible or audible break, so the only way to notice it's there is through story continuity. And no one that watched the check discs caught that it was missing. Honestly, that's not a valid excuse - it should've been caught by someone, and the authoring house needed to realize that one episode was running 3 minutes short. It's inexcusable, and we're taking drastic measures to fix this problem once and for all. We're committed to giving everyone the best possible product - content, features, packaging and quality control. 3 out of those 4 is not nearly enough, so we're moving Volumes 2 and 3 to a new authoring house that has assured us of the quality and depth of their Quality Control department.

We have already reauthored Disc 1 and will have replacements available by street date - Feb 19th. We will be setting up an 800# to request replacement discs which we will ship out along with a new exclusive bonus item for your trouble and as an apology from us.

We appreciate your continued support."

Both Variety and Trading Markets have posted news about Mattel now working with Creative Artists Agency.
MOTU related excerpt from Variety:

Mattel already has been working to set up its properties for feature adaptations. Its entertainment efforts are overseen by Barry Waldo, VP of worldwide entertainment marketing and strategy.
Last year, it inked a deal with Joel Silver to develop a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe actioner at Warner Bros. that could help lead to the relaunch of the 1980s fantasy franchise.

MOTU related excerpt from Trading Markets:

Added Barry Waldo, Vice President, Worldwide Entertainment Marketing and Strategy, Mattel, "At Mattel, we are always looking at unique and innovative opportunities to leverage our brands. In fact, Mattel has been very successful in producing original, quality family entertainment with our Barbie DVDs, globally distributed by Universal Studios Home Entertainment, and we have also recently partnered with Warner Bros. to develop a live-action re-imagination of Mattel's property, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. We're confident that the combination of Mattel and CAA Marketing will truly create a dynamic partnership."

This deal with CAA will hopefully bring more success to Mattel's brands in entertainment venues such as movies, television and games.
For now, what we knew before remains the same:  If the new movie happens, then we'll probably see new life breathed into the MOTU line.  This news provides the added hope that CAA will increase the chance of success for a MOTU movie, as well as any other form of media entertainment for MOTU and all Mattel brands.

We're about a month into the fund drive, which we hope to wrap up at the end of February.
We really appreciate all the help everyone has given!
And thanks to He-Fan Jukka for the cool sword graphic!

As you can see, we have quite a ways to go before we reach our desired goal.
So very soon, we're going to offer up some incentives that will hopefully entice those who haven't had a chance to donate to do just that.
We're just waiting to hear back from a couple people on some neat items.

In the meantime, if you find this site useful, and look forward to the major overhaul we have planned, please donate.
Please check out the March 12th news entry for the donation link.
Thank you for your help!

Unfortunately, Top Secret Toys has closed their doors. TST was one of our most recent sponsors.
AFX still supports He-Man.org, and we greatly appreciate all orders placed at their store via links from our site.

  • Gue Toys closed on December 7, 2006 when the owner shifted his time to raising a new family. We wish him luck!
  • Top Secret Toys closed on January 13, 2008 due to personal reasons of the store owner. Heh-Man, who ran the store, is a friendly honest guy who offered a great service. We hope everything works out for him!

A new He-Man.org is planned for July of this year!

Emiliano Santalucia, fan-favorite artist of the 200x comic and one of the individuals behind He-Man.org, has an important announcement to make:

"A New He-Man.org is planned for summer of 2008!
It's been formulated in detail and an incredible website design studio is lined up to create it.

Here is a sampling of some of the major features a new He-Man.org would offer:

  • Wiki-styled content management: every registered user will be able to add content to the site for almost every section, with a queue/moderated system to help prevent false and inaccurate information.
  • Collector's databank: registered users will be able to make checklists of their own collection based on the growing He-Man.org collectible database, keeping track of collections and their conditions, with the option to share them with other users as well as creating 'wish lists'
  • MOTU Encyclopedia: an open and expandable database registered fans will help to create, adding and modifying entries for all characters, creatures, places, etc. that ever appeared in the MOTU and POP universe.
  • Fan Creation Portfolio: registered users will be able to upload fan-art, fan fictions, custom creations and more!
  • New Homepage Portal: registered users will be tied directly to news, the forums, and more right off the main page of the site
Val Staples and myself are funding what we can.
But we can't do it alone.

We need every fan who uses this site to make a 10.00 donation.
That means you; the person reading this who comes to this site for news and all the resources it offers.

Just 10.00
Depending on your personal tastes, 10.00 buys you things like a movie ticket, a couple meals at a fast food restaurant, a new action-figure, even a couple packs of cigarettes.
If you can give up those just once, that 10.00 will help provide a brand new site that will last years and years!

If you have a PayPal account, all it takes it clicking on this link and completing the donation using your existing PayPal balance or a credit card. Please see the March 12th news.

If you don't have PayPal,
then please mail in a donation.
Send a money order, personal check, even cash if you must!
Please send it to:
     MVCreations
     PO Box 1870
     Richmond, KY 40476
     USA

If you can't send 10.00, then send whatever you can.
10.00 is what we need from each user. But we'll glady accept whatever you can send.
And please be sure to read this site's Terms and Conditions before making any donation.

We plan to have the new site ready in time for the 2008 San Diego Comic Con.
But in order to make that happen, we need your help before the end of January.
We hope you will help.

Over the last 20 years, fans have been one of the driving forces behind MOTU and POP. And we're thrilled that He-Man.org has been a home for so many fans to come together to share their love for MOTU and POP. Now, with the movie coming, He-Man.org has to evolve and grow.
The new He-Man.org we have designed will bring fans more power. You will be the ones helping to build the site. He-Man.org can finally become the resource we've always wanted it to be.
With your help, let's show the world that we have the power!
Thank you for your help."
