[Introduction]
Welcome to the 12th issue of the Scrolls of Greyskull, the unofficial newsletter of the worlds of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power. I think this is a pretty good issue, and I hope all of you feel the same way.

This issue is a little different from the previous ones. I'm going to include more fan fic. This month's story is 'The Saga Of He-Man', which should be running for a while. I like it a lot, and I think you will too... I also separated the He-Man/She-Ra NetGuide from the rest of the newsletter. When you're reading stories, a bunch of URLs can be a bit distracting. :> Finally, some mail servers choke on mail that's more than 16K large, so I'm breaking the newsletter up into smaller chunks.

If you're scratching your head and can't imagine why you're getting He-Man mail, e-mail me and I'll unsubscribe you. As many of you know, there's a form on the WWW that makes it easy to subscribe to this newsletter. Unfortunately, some people think it's funny to sign others up. In any event, e-mail me and I'll be more than happy to take you off the lists. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. (I know to long-time subscribers, this section might sound pointless, but I generally get at least 5 false submissions every month.)

Also, I'd appreciate it if you'd e-mail me if you plan on cancelling your e-mail account.

All ranting aside, I think this issue turned out pretty well, and I hope all of you enjoy it. Remember, if this newsletter's going to make it to 1998, I'm going to need more articles, ideas, suggestions, comments, files, interpretive dance steps...whatever you can think of! E-mail them to me at ctyner@awod.com, and I appreciate all your help!

[Question Of The Month]

This month's question was inspired by a letter I got from Greg Vanscoy (vanscoy4@MARSHALL.EDU). How would you feel if a company like Todd Toys (as a rumor suggests) remade the He-Man figures? What would you like to change? What would you like to be the same? I think this'll get a lot of response, and I'm looking forward to seeing what all of you think.

Last month's question asked:

"What are some of the funkiest or lesser known He-Man emblazoned products you can remember from back in the mid-80's when it was so popular?"

A lot of discussion went on among the Guardians of Greyskull (the He-Man/She-Ra mailing list) about toothbrush holders, electric toothbrushes, and door knockers. It would take too long to quote all those messages (sorry guys! :), but here are some of the other responses I've gotten.

*ntarant1@ic3.ithaca.edu*: I remember having a He-Man sleeping bag, but I was [p.o.ed] because there was no Skeletor on it. I also still have a deck of He-Man cards. The royalty features He-Man, Teela, and Man-At-Arms. The ace is Skeletor...but this too ticked me off as Skeletor was the only featured villain. There also was some He-Man birthday set. I still have some napkins.

[DC Comics Presents #47]
Matthew L. Martin (mlmartin@coe.edu) recently posted this, a summary of the comic book where He-Man and Superman fought, to the mailing list.

Skeletor, who has one half of the Power Sword, tries to use that half to force his way into Castle Greyskull (this is the '82-'83, pre-Filmation mythos). The resulting energy blast creates a dimensional rift...and Superman stumbles into it. He appears at Greyskull, whips Beast-Man, but gets blasted away by Skeletor. He finds He-Man and Battle-Cat, and they, together with Man-At-Arms in the Wind Raider, launch an attack on Skeletor. Skeletor uses the Power Sword to control Superman and forces him to fight He-Man. Superman wins, and then Skeletor tries to use him to force open Greyskull. Superman uses his heat vision to engulf Skeletor in quickly-cooling molten rock for a moment, breaking the Dark Lord's concentration and allowing Superman to escape from the compulsion to open Greyskull. Skeletor teleports away, and Superman leaves through a conveniently opening dimensional gate.

Not a bad comic. It's far more medieval that later interpretations of Eternia, and it was, in many ways, an introduction to the line. This is, AFAIK, the first media appearance of the Masters of the Universe.

[The Saga Of He-Man]

Due to popular demand, I'm going to start running fan fic in the newsletter bi-monthly. Kevin Gunther (gunthk@rpi.edu), an active poster to the mailing list, sent me this first portion of a story he calls "The Saga Of He-Man".

Throughout Eternia, all had been well for longer than most people could remember. King Adam had ruled for nearly 50 years, and a celebration to mark that occasion had been in the works for almost a year. In two weeks, the citizens' hard work and preparation would be rewarded with the greatest feast and festivities that the planet had ever known. Adam's son, Prince Duncan, helped organize the whole thing in honor of his father.

The elders of Eternia will tell you of a vastly different planet in the days before King Adam reigned. While King Randor held the throne, Eternia was still prosperous, but had to deal with the threat of attack from the evil Skeletor. If it weren't for the heroic efforts of He-man, the most powerful man in the universe; Man-at-Arms, the courageous inventor and scientist also known as Duncan to his friends; Teela, his adopted daughter; and the Sorceress, who protected the power of Castle Greyskull, this evil threat would still be a menace.

Everything came to a head when King Randor was on his deathbed. Skeletor struck the lowest of blows when he attempted to invade the royal palace as all of Randor's friends and family gathered at his bedside. The way the story is told, He-Man became incredibly enraged at the sorcerer's untimely attack. He struck at Skeletor with so much force that when their swords clashed there was a powerful explosion. Both combatants were thrown to the ground some forty feet away from each other, with the power swords clanging to the ground. He-Man, the great hero, was rendered unconscious by the blow, and lay slumped in a corner. Skeletor struggled to his feet and had enough energy to pick up both swords. The two united halves fused together and seemed to fill Skeletor's blue form. He approached He-Man's slumped figure and raised the swords high over his head. Man-At-Arms had seen enough. He thrust himself at Skeletor, jarring the evil sorcerer. Skeletor now focused his attention on his new aggressor. He swung the power sword at Man-At-Arms, barely missing. He attacked again and again, but each time the unarmed hero managed to outmaneuver the striking blade. Skeletor was not to be outdone, though. On his final blow, he did hit Man-At-Arms, slicing him from the floating ribs on his right side to his left shoulder. The sound of tearing muscle fiber, punctured vessels, and cracking ribs was emblazoned on the minds of all in attendance, but the most repugnant sound of all was the sound of Man-At-Arms' heart breaking, knowing that he had failed and thinking it spelled the end for all of Eternia. A hero had fallen and in doing so, he had made himself a legend.

All was not over. He-Man had regained his consciousness by the end of the fight. He was weary, but he was not willing to let his friend die in vain. He charged Skeletor and leaped to pounce on the fiend. The evil warrior raised the blood-soaked sword over head one last time, and as he went to lower the boom on the nearing hero, he smelled victory in the air. But at that moment, as his stomach acids began to churn from the sweet taste of victory, Zoar swooped down from above and grabbed the sword in her talons. He-Man landed the crashing blow and the two combatants fell to the floor. He-Man struck down upon the skeletal head of the hooded sorcerer with great vengeance and furious anger, and landed punch after punch. Suddenly, a crack appeared on Skeletor's cranium. Green mist flowed out of this fissure for nearly half a minute, and when it ceased, Skeletor lay lifeless on the palace tile.

[Masters of the Universe Record]

bob1138@ghg.net recently sent me this letter about a Masters of the Universe record that I thought many of you might find interesting.

I have a record album called "Masters Of The Universe," from Kid Stuff Records and Tapes. It's a really cool radio-drama style story about Skeletor arriving in Eternia and attempting to break into Castle Greyskull to steal the "ancient's wisdom". It came out in '83 and includes characters and story elements of second season toys and the cartoon. It is much bolder and darker than the cartoon though...no Orko or anything. It actualy tries to be kind of scary and adventurous...something that often escaped the cartoon. It also has a lot of really awesome exposition of the characters and especially Eternia's landscapes and animal inhabitants. All in all, it's a realy cool album, and I assume it's not something that's easy to come by. I will make a tape of it and send it to anyone interested for $10 shipped. This includes the cassette tape, the dubbing time, and the cost of shipping. Each tape will be dubbed directly from the record and is guaranteed to be free of skips or tempo fluxuations. I am offering this mainly as a service, not for profit.

[He-Man/She-Ra T-Shirts]

In a recent issue of 'Rolling Stone', there was a company advertising He-Man and She-Ra T-shirts. Swift Wind (greggerr@tir.com) posted a letter to the mailing list about this...

Nothing like following up your own message. Gave these people a call again today, and asked once again about availibilty of styles #3 and #4. They had both in stock, so I ordered one of each in XL. The total came to $37.90 via credit card. While on the phone, I casually mentioned that I would probably send a message to a large (several hundred people at least) mailing list on the Internet about the shirts. I also asked if they could get a large quantity of these shirts if many people ordered them, and the woman talking (sounded like the owner or manager) said that they would have no trouble ordering in quantity if they saw sales taking off. I thanked her, and told her that I would send the information along to the mailing list. She thanked me (sounded a little excited about the several hundred people thing), and said the order would go out Monday.

I cannot vouch for this company, I cannot vouch for the quality of the T-shirts, (but I will follow up after I have received my order), but here is the ordering and contact information.

This is from page 217 of the December 26th-January 9th issue of Rolling Stone, with Beavis, Butthead, and Pamela Anderson on the cover.

[Jack Kirby's Fourth World]

I've been a big fan of Jack Kirby's Fourth World series of comics for years, and I was pretty excited to hear John Byrne talking about the Masters of the Universe in a recent interview.

[This is from issue #497 of 'Comic Shop News', and I'm only transcribing the He-Man related parts of the interview.]

"The *best* New Gods movie, IMHO, is 'Masters of the Universe'. I even corresponded with the director, who told me this was his intent, and that he had tried to get [Jack] Kirby to do the production designs, but the studio nixed it.

"Check it out. It requires some bending and an occasional sex change (Metron becomes an ugly dwarf, The Highfather becomes the Sorceress), but it's an amazingly close analog, otherwise. And Frank Langella's Skeletor is a *dandy* Darkseid!"

[Letter To Mattel]

Several people on the mailing list and I have been working together to develop a letter to send to Mattel. We're also going to enclose names, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers to show our support. If you'd like to add your name, e-mail princeadam@geocities.com with your real name and your e-mail address and/or phone number (preferably both).

BTW, I really appreciate all the responses I've been getting! I apologize for not being able to respond to all of you individually, but that's a lot of mail to go through! :>

Also, if there are any comments, suggestions, or whatnot you have about this letter, please e-mail me so I can improve upon it. Thanks! :>

Dear _______________________,

One of the most successful action figure lines of the 1980s was Mattel's "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe". The line was very successful for a number of years, and for hundreds of thousands of young men and women across worldwide, the action figures and the cartoon remain fond memories.

Over the past year, there has been a great resurgence of interest in He-Man over the Internet. There are many high profile web pages featuring He-Man, as well as a newsletter and a mailing list. For the past few months, many "He-Fans" have suggested putting together a petition to have the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power lines re-released for collectors.

If you would like to get more information about the fans on the Internet, here are some suggested sites:

  • Kevin Hebert's Page: http://gwis2.circ.gwu.edu/~kmhebert/heman.html
  • Adam Tyner's Page: http://www.he-man.org/ctyner/index.shtml
  • Jaye's She-Ra Page: http://galaxy.neca.com/~phoenix/SheRa/
  • The Newsletter Archives: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/3624/archive.html

The mailing list can be reached at heman-list@hypenet.com. Information on subscribing can be found at http://www.awod.com/gallery/rwav/ctyner/he-mail.html. Mail can be sent to the mailing list without subscribing, however.

Several people on the mailing list have pointed out that a few recent Mattel creations bear a strong resemblance to figures and playsets from the Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power lines (such as the Evil Horde Slime Pit and Swift Wind, She-Ra's horse). This leads us to believe that some of the original molds are still in existence, and this would make re-releasing the lines a lot easier. Kenner is using the original molds for the Star Wars vehicles, which are proving to be very popular. The mini-comics that came with the figures would also be nice to see again.

Enclosed are the names, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers of _________ people who would like to see the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra lines re-released in some fashion, be it in their original forms or slightly revamped for a 1990s audience. (We would appreciate it if the lines were not vastly altered; one of the significant factors leading to the failure of the last He-Man revival was the re-tooling of the characters and the storyline.)

[Beast Man and the Battle Hens]

Elizabeth Ricciuto (artifice@inforamp.net) posted a really funny He-Man experience to the mailing list, and I thought I'd put it in the newsletter too. (The title 'Beast Man and the Battle Hens' was her idea too. :)

I do have a second-hand He-Man memory to relate: my husband and his brother used to have their figures ride their chickens. They would have the figures straddle the chickens necks and the chickens would run around trying to dislodge their riders. Rob described it as a "moving diorama".

    [Strobo]

Mark Ramirez (mark.tony.ramirez1@juno.com) asked me a question regarding a character that appeared in the Masters of the Universe magazine. Do any of you have more information on this character, or was he a one-shot that never appeared again?

The other day I rediscovered mine and my brother's MOTU Magazines. Back then, I would only look at the pictures and my brother would read it to me because I was too young to do it myself. Anyway, I found what I believe is a new character. His name was Strobo. (Fall 1988 I think). He was just like Zodac (you know their creativity). He had a red and blue helmet, a cape, and like a mirror in the middle of his chest. In the comic, somehow Skeletor, Ninjor, and Blast-Attack get into Greyskull and capture the Sorceress using a crystal. He-Man stops them by shooting a beam of light straight at Strobo and it breaks the crystal. The Sorceress is freed and He-Man does the rest. I just wanted to know what the 411 is on this character.

    [He-Man/She-Ra MIDI Files]

YgProdigy@aol.com is working on a She-Ra MIDI file that should be up in around a month and a half. Keep checking his homepage at http://members.aol.com/YgProdigy/ypp.html for more info.

There's also an original He-Man MIDI file on the WWW at http://www.west.ga.net/~eternia/He-man/archive/sounds/heman.mid that was sequenced by Erik Christianson (kaceac@ns.net).

    [RunJT's Ideas]

I like the idea of He-Man returning to the shelves....but I think it can't bethe same He-Man we saw in the 80's. New molds need to be be made with theoriginal concept in mind...same characters, with updated looks based on theoriginals...mostly so the figures don't look like they all came out of thesame mold (which most did). I mean look at Prince Adam?! He looks sofruity! I would like to see Revamp be the new mythology behind the new line. Hear are some of my ideas for the first series of the line broken down intotwo assortments.

    Assortment A

    He-Man
    Man-At-Arms
    Teela
    Stratos
    Skeletor
    Beastman
    Mer-Man

    Assortment B

    Man-E-Faces
    Ram-Man
    Tri-klops
    Trap Jaw
    Faker
    Zodac
    Sorceress

If you have more ideas, e-mail me at ctyner@awod.com and I'll put them in the next issue of the newsletter.

    [I Have The Power]

Here are the lyrics to "I Have The Power", courtesy of Dick Washington (richie@blackbeard.com).

Hi! I used to watch the He-Man series a lot myself, if only to hear the show's cool theme song. Now, what I'd like to do right now is share with you the lyrics to "I Have the Power," which were written by Erika Schiemer (Lou's daughter, and a frequent regular voice talent during Filmation's last years); the music was co-composed by a pre-Power Rangers Shuki Levy & Haim Saban, in partnership with an Erika Lane:

Somewhere out there, someone needs me/
Don't know how or where, but please believe me/
I'll walk the Universe to find her/
For better or for worse beside her/
A stranger walked into my world,/
And when he talked, I really heard!/
He spoke of things like love and peace/
    The joy {they bring} will never cease/
The truth of love will always guide us/
The strength above will be inside us/
    Forevermore we'll be together/
Our hearts are so one to each other/
For the honor of love/By the power above/
I (We) have the Power, I (We) have the Power ---
    So can you.......

    [More On He-Ro...]

Dan Oliveira (DOliveira@house.state.ma.us) is a rabid fan that's been sending me lots of great information for the newsletter for a while... Recently, Dan sent me some more information on He-Ro, a spin-off line of He-Man figures that would take place in Eternia's past.

I just found a Bionatops in its original package (one of the Grayskull dinosaurs -the last He-Man items released). This is a direct quote from what is printed on the back of the package. As you will see, the MOTU line was about to enter a whole new phase and was going to reveal a lot of background on He-Man & Eternia.......

"Travel back in time through a secret portal - and discover the ORIGIN OF THE POWERS OF GRAYSKULL! Learn how He-Man became so strong! And explore the magical world of Preternia, home of HE-RO, the Most Powerful Wizard in the Universe! Monstrous dinosaurs and fierce giants - both good and evil - struggle for control of this strange & hostile land! The dinosaurs in this time of Grayskull - Tyrantisaurus Rex, Bionatops and Turbodactyl - each possess a fantastic mechanical power! Can HE-RO master all the good magic of the Ancient Wizards, and protect future Eternia from forever falling into the claws of evil? Look for HE-RO and the Powers of Grayskull coming your way in 1987!"

As you mentioned in the previous newsletter, rumor had it that the last figure Mattel had scheduled for release was a wizard figure. "He-Ro" is obviously the wizard in question. His name was in large bold on the back and he had a (tm) next to his name. He appears at the end of the mini-comic which came with the dinos but is hidden by shadows. Because of the fact that the Sorceress made He-Man disguise his appearance in Preternia (and could not tell him why) one assumes that he bears a strong resemblance to He-Ro. In addition, the mention of giants in both the quote above and in the mini-comic lends credence to what I have been told (by a number of reliable people) that giant 'Titus' and 'Megator' 18 inch figures were released overseas as part of the 'Powers of Grayskull' line. One wonders if He-Ro was also released overseas...

Also, in the comic, King Hiss makes a mysterious reference to an individual whom he and his Snake Men answer to. We never find out who it is. I'm waiting on various people with connections to the European toy market who tell me that these figures exist. As soon as I find out anything, I'll let you know!

    [TVT Records]

Stratos from the mailing list (sailormars@prostar.com) posted an idea that I think is great!

There is a company called TV Toons that produces many TV themes, and they want suggestions on what to put on one their albums. Maybe if we all send them E-Mail on how we want He-Man and the Masters of the Universe on their next album, they will listen to us and put it on. Their E-Mail address is:

    [The A-Team Owns...Castle Greyskull??]

This is a great story I found while searching for He-Man information over the Internet. Yes, it's a crossover between He-Man and the A-Team. I found it at http://www.xs4all.nl/~jmm/a-team/otj/otj0208.txt and thought I'd copy it here since there was tons of other stuff on that page. In any event, the story is by Tracy Revels and originally appeared in On The Jazz #9 by Deborah Okoniewski.

There was a resounding crash as the massive drawbridge fell, its chains blasted away by the staccato rounds of a machine gun. A man charged through the dust, waving his cap in gleeful victory.

"Yeeeee-ah! On to pillage!" He broke across the wooden planks as his comrades brought up the rear, their heavy weapons readied against any adversary. Only one, a heavy-set Negro, hung back in apprehension.

"I don't like this," he growled. "It smells bad."

"That's because there's a slime monster in the moat!" the wide-eyed leader called. The black man sneered but his silver-haired companion removed a cigar from his jacket and waved it towards the dismal pool.

"It might eat you," he said, without cracking a smile.

The handsome cohort, who was halfway across the bridge, laughed. "I'll bet it just LOVES chickens!"

"Who you callin' chicken, fool?" The bejeweled man thundered across the bridge like an angry bull. His speed propelled him into the iron-studded door, which collapsed in surrender. His friends followed him in cautiously.

"Now where do you think that scumbag could be hiding?" the older man asked, shifting his rifle in his arms.

"What about the dungeon?" the husky one suggested.

"No, that's where he's got the princess," the lunatic corrected.

The blond straightened his tie. "Princess?"

"No time for that, fool!" the black man barked, his necklaces rattling annoyance. "We gotta get this Skelo . . .Skelta . . . Skella . . . whoever! Let's try the throne room!"

As one, they turned and marched side by side down the long hall and into a torch-lit room lined with the skulls of less fortunate interlopers. Their hands tensed on their weapons as the spotted their prey, a hideously ugly man in a blue bodysuit.

"Well, he certainly doesn't read GQ," the blond observed.

"Impertinent fools!" the figure screamed. "Who are you to enter my domain?"

The silver-haired leader stepped forward, tilting his cigar with flair. "We're the . . ."

"Silence! I will throw you into the slime pit!" the creature roared. Four huge guns clicked into the ready position. The thing caught its breath in a frightened gasp. "Then again, maybe not." He jumped from his chair and ran for his life. The foursome followed in hot pursuit up a twisting staircase, dodging bolts of magic fire and countering with blasts of heavy artillery. He was finally driven to the edge of a turret, and in desperation, pulled a sword from beneath his cape, hurling it with superhuman strength. It struck the black man, but was deflected by his chains. All four fired their weapons and the man toppled over the edge, disappearing beneath the inky waters of the moat with a final hair-raising scream. For a long second the group stared down, then with a wild war whoop, the crazed gunner jumped onto the stone balcony, dancing in triumph.

    "The A-Team owns Castle Greyskull!"

"Aw, come on, Uncle Travis," a small voice whined. "Let us play with it!"

The college student scowled. "I thought I told you to pay attention! You don't know how to properly play with these toys."

"MOMMY!!!" Travis shook his head and returned to the business at hand, namely, helping Face find the Princess and the Colonel collect his 10%. Unfortunately for him, his young nephew had called in a professional and his elder sister shooed him away from the MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE playset. He shook his head as he settled on the sofa and began to thumb through the latest copy of ON THE JAZZ.

"Kids," he sighed. "There's just no hope for them."

    [What Is Cover.jpg?]

Steve Levich (grasshopper@mail.fwi.com) is going to add pictures of some of the mini-comics covers and some comics themselves soon. Cover.jpg is compressed more than the original pictures that Steve plans on adding, but I still think it looks really nice.

BTW, the URL to Steve's page is http://www2.fwi.com/~grasshopper/table.html

    [Revamp]

Here is the next installment of Revamp, the fan fiction by RunJT@aol.com that has been running in the newsletter for quite a while. For previous installments, check out the newsletter archives at http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/3624/archive.html. RunJT has told me that this installment should end all of the character introductions, and the actual story itself will begin soon.

    A Tale Of Teela

Adam fell lifelessly into the cool, moist ground of the grove. He lay there for a while and rested after the long run from the palace. The air here was thick, and Adam tried to breathe as much as he could into his tired lungs. Adam's difficulty breathing had held him back greatly throughout his life. The condition could be traced to his mother, who had similar problems. She once told Adam the "atmospheres" of Eternia and her home were slightly different. Adam noticed that on occasion, alien words such as "atmosphere" came up in her vocabulary. They were of a language she had long forgotten from a life she could remember nothing about. Despite what she could or could not remember, her incompatibility with the air was passed to her son.

Cringer nudged Adam from the mud, and they continued to an opening in the grove. Teela was in the middle amongst many makeshift dummies and obstacles constructed throughout the clearing. She paid Adam little attention and instead continued hopping wooden hurdles and attacking straw men on posts. This was a spot known only to Teela and Adam. However, Teela would have preferred Adam had not known of its existence. Here she trained endlessly in hope of one daybecoming Captain of the Royal Guard -- a position she now feared was in jeopardy with the arrival of the warrior He-Man. Her father, the king's Man-At-Arms,had tried to assure her that He-Man was not interested in taking the post, but she continued to increase the intensity of her training. Adam had come to try and stop her from working herself to death.

Reasoning with Teela never worked, but Adam tried anyway. He could tell Teela was becoming irritated as she increased her speed. Her anger clouded her concentration, and she fell to the ground. Adam took advantage of his chance and rushed to her side. "Teela, you have put all your talent...all your time... into this one dream. If it doesn't work out, you'll have nothing. Why not take up arms with He-Man...give your life more than one purpose." Adam could see inTeela's face that he had touched a chord with her. He left her there, slightly sinking into the moist ground of the grove, to think about what he had said. A small smile broke out across her dirty face. She flung backwards into the mudwith a small laugh. She was very mature for her age, yet still susceptible to the bursts of youthful exuberance that comes with a brilliant realization. Besides, what better way to be seen and considered for Captain of the Guard thanfighting a glorious battle (whatever the cause might be) alongside a warrior certain to become one of Eternia's greatest.

    [Disclaimer, Credits, And Such...]

This newsletter was written by Adam Tyner (ctyner@awod.com) except for sections where hats are tipped.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or anything else, feel more than free to e-mail me.

"The Scrolls Of Greyskull" newsletter is mailed out monthly to 500 rabid He-Man fans. For more info, go to http://www.he-man.org/ctyner/scrolls.html or e-mail me.

This newsletter is not intended to infringe on any copyrights and is written purely out of love. :>

    [Net Guide]

By far, the largest part of the newsletter has been the He-Man/She-Ra NetGuide. I thought the newsletter might be a little easier to sift through if I separated this section from the rest.

    He-Man/She-Ra On The Internet

The Internet consists of much more than the World Wide Web, so I've decided to replace the 'Web pages' section of the newsletter with a section detailing the various ways of obtaining He-Man information and such over the Internet.

    ] E-Mail

    The Guardians of Greyskull

To join the He-Man/She-Ra mailing list, e-mail heman-list-request@hypenet.com with the word SUBSCRIBE in the body of the message. This mailing list is separate from the He-Fans, although there are quite a few He-Fans on it (including myself).

    The He-Fans

If you're reading this newsletter, you're probably already a He-Fan. If you had this newsletter forwarded to you, however, and you're interested in receiving it every month, e-mail me at ctyner@awod.com and I'll add you to the list.

    ] FTP

The Guardians of Greyskull FTP Site

To upload files, go to ftp.hypenet.com/incoming, and to download files, go to ftp.hypenet.com/pub. There's a 10 meg limit to the FTP site, so bear that in mind when uploading files.

    ] Usenet

    He-Man Related Newsgroups

There's currently not a He-Man Usenet group, but there are several groups with topics relating to He-Man:

    rec.arts.animation
    rec.toys.misc
    rec.toys.action-figures

There's an alternative to a newsgroup on the WWW (called a 'newslet') on the WWW at http://www.he-man.org/ctyner/scrolls.html

    ] Chatting

    Pow Wow

Pow Wow is a great chat client that you can download from http://www.tribal.com. There is a He-Man tribe up at http://www.enterprise1701.com/powwow/tribes/The_Masters_of_the_Universe.html

    IRC

To chat with He-Fans on IRC, jump on any EFNet server (such as irc.cdc.net) and /join #he-man. I'm working on putting an Eggdrop bot on to control it and to keep out people who think the channel is for something else (let me put it this way -- a lot of perverts join the channel).

    JavaChat

There's a chat applet for He-Man fans up at http://www.awod.com/gallery/rwav/ctyner/chat.html for those of you with Java-capable browsers.

    ] Web Pages
