[Introduction]

What a thrill! After two years, the headaches of bounced mail are finallyover thanks to Jason Moore (jason@hypenet.com). This list is nowcompletely automated, which makes things more reliable both on my end aswell as yours. I think I've hammered out the last couple of kinks. :)

As always, your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated and arenecessary to keep this newsletter going. My e-mail address isctyner@he-man.org.

[August '98 Toyfare]

He-Man is receiving more nationwide recognition! There's an excellentarticle on "Masters of the Universe" in the August '98 issue of Toyfare, which includes quotes from people at Mattel, the history of the line, andits effect on action figures today. My name, web site, and the Mattelpetition were also mentioned in the article. :)

This is the most significant article on He-Man in a magazine since theOctober '96 issue of "Tomart's Action Figure Digest". This can do nothingbut help bring back awareness of our favorite action figure line andcartoon. Is anyone from Mattel or Hallmark listening? ;)

[FAQ]

I've recently launched an early version of a Masters of the Universe FAQ athttp://www.he-man.org/ctyner/faq.html

Hopefully seasoned fans will find it just as useful as people justrediscovering MOTU. If you see any errors or have suggestions foradditions, e-mail me and I'll see what I can do. :)

[The Scrolls Of Grayskull Archives]

If you're new to the newsletter or are just interested at looking howterrible the early newsletters were, you'll want to take a look at theScrolls Of Grayskull Archives, which have moved tohttp://www.he-man.org/archive/

A search engine has also been added in case you want to find out quicklywhich issues have a particular piece of information.

Special thanks go out to Jason Moore (jason@hypenet.com) for providing theweb space and to Scott White (Cringer) for creating andmaintaining the site.

Please remember to update your links and bookmarks.

[He-Man On The Cartoon Network!]

He-Man is on the Cartoon Network! This may seem like good news for us,but, at least for the moment, it only benefits people in Mexico (andperhaps other Spanish-speaking countries).

Visitors to Eduardo Filardo's wonderful site "The Power Dimension" athttp://labcq-master.qro.itesm.mx/~al347143/ have noticed, many of thescreen grabs he has on his site have the Cartoon Network logo in the corner.

I'm not certain how many countries are airing He-Man on the CartoonNetwork, but who knows? Maybe it won't be too much longer until it showsup in America as well.

Roy Salameh (meaddress@aol.com) discovered this wonderful way to find MOTUvideos. I've received several e-mails from people saying that they've hadluck this way, so I thought I'd share it with all of you:

Call Blockbuster Video's customer service line at 1-800-800-6767 and press#0 to speak to a representative.

Ask them to make a nationwide search for He-Man and the Masters of theUniverse videos that are for sale. If they find any, ask them to give youthe address of the Blockbuster store that has them, the store number, andtheir phone number. Also ask them to give you the call number that's on theMOTU video that you want.

Once you have all that information, go to your local Blockbuster, give themthe information you got, and they will order the videos for you.

[Question Of The Month]

I'm reviving a long-forgotten section of the Scrolls of Grayskull. :)This month's question is from Scott White (Cringer):

"Do you think that Prince Adam would ever reveal his secret to Teela? Ifso, when do you think he would do it?"

E-mail your answers to me at ctyner@he-man.org and I'll put them in thenext newsletter. Also, if you have suggestions for questions for futurenewsletters, e-mail me and I'll include the best ones.

[Customizing Contest Reminder]

I've only received a couple of submissions so far for the customizingcontest announced last issue, so in case you've lost the rules... :)

http://www.he-man.org/ctyner/figures_custom_98.html

I've finally gotten a new flatbed scanner, so I can scan in yourphotographed submissions in case you don't have access to a scanner.

[Customizing Tips]

For the past several newsletters, Andy Munteanu (andymunteanu@hotmail.com)has submitted tips for customizing action figures that some of you mightfind useful for the customizing contest.

Movie Skeletor: A Terror Claws Skeletor painted in black with a cape. Easy, eh? Not really. It would look better if you'd use black tape, that way seems it's wearing a suit. the skull on his chest should be left uncovered, looks better. If you want the cape to look like leatherjust use a piece of plastic bag covered in black tape. If you want to getinto detail (which I don't recommend) you'd have to paint his face white.

If you have any tips or suggestions for customizing action figures, e-mailthem to me at ctyner@he-man.org.

[The Milky Way Maltshop]

Humberto M. Ferre helps run a site called The Milky Way Maltshop thatcaters to writers, spotlighting original works and fan fiction. The sitehas a rotating theme, and in mid-July, the theme will be fantasy whichincludes - you guessed it - He-Man!

If you have any stories you'd like to submit, please e-mail Humberto atdoctor@icanect.net. Also, the URL to the Milky Way Maltshop ishttp://www.wtmi.com/maltshop/index.html

[Quake II: Total Conversion News]

Matt R. tells me that the Quake II total conversion featuring MOTU landscapes and characters has been cancelled. Many of the people involved have either had schedule conflicts or a generallack of interest. Although this project is dead, there's always thepossibility of a new one! If anyone decides to spearhead a new projectalong these lines (or any line, for that matter :), e-mail me and I'llmention it in the newsletter.

[This Month's Multimedia]

To conserve bandwidth, I'm going to post the monthly files on the WWW fromnow on. If you need me to e-mail them to you personally, drop me an e-mailand I'll be happy to do so.

This month's file is A Hilarious Photo entitled Catsand was submitted by Mirasame@aol.com. It's hilarious, and you just have to see it. Any description will just spoil it. :)
