Hey everybody! The new list software I'm using (Smartlist, if you'rewondering) is wonderful...last month's issue was the first time I've usedthat software, but I was very pleased with the results.
I'm really disappointed in the lack of feedback, though. The past coupleof newsletters have been a little light on content, and I really need yourletters to keep it going. You can reach me at ctyner@he-man.org. If youhave any suggestions for articles, comments, or questions, please send themto me. More than likely I'll use them. :-)
Also, if you're interested in buying, selling, or trading figures, be sureto visit http://www.he-man.org/ctyner/trade/ , a bulletin board which hasturned out to be more wildly successful than I ever could have imagined. :-)

[Response From Mattel!]
Those of you who have been part of the list for a while will probablyremember the Mattel campaign that ran for a full year that culminated in aletter I sent them in April. I finally received a response, which is asfollows:
Dear Mr. Tyner:

As you can tell, this is clearly a form letter, and it seems doubtful thathe fully read the letter I sent. I have to admit that I am very, verydisappointed in this turn of events. I'm currently looking into a moreeffective way in getting in touch with someone at Mattel who can provide anactual response...
I'll keep all of you updated on anything that happens with Mattel in thefuture.
[More From Mattel...]
TheClimb1@aol.com called Mattel and asked about the future of MOTU. Here'san e-mail he sent detailing the response.
I talked with someone from Mattel! They said that they have no idea iftoys
from Greyskull Tales will be issued! The lady said that she wouldprobably
doubt it because of poor sales in the last try to bring He-Manback! She
said that if they do, She-Ra will more than likely not beinvolved with
the toy line! I thought that She-Ra was a popular toy line??I guess I
was wrong! Oh well! She also said that Mattel would more thanlikely not
bring it out but would end up passing the rights to another toycompany
like Hasbro or someone else! I think that Masters of the Universeand
Princess of Power toys were the best! I was hoping that they wouldmaybe
reissue them but who knows! I really don't believe that woman! Shesounded
really clueless! She answered and I said "I would like to askabout the possibility of a new He-Man toy line!" She said," We haven'tcarried that line for years!" Then
she had no idea why they stoppedcarrying them in the first place!!! She
was a moron!
Bye!
MOTU and POP Fan,
Paul
While I can understand Mattel's reluctance to issue a new series, I'mdisappointed that they seem to be ruling it out altogether. The chances ofanother company picking up the rights appear to be slim (why should theypay money for a license to an old action figure line when they can createtheir own original characters for less?)... More bad news... :-(
[Fox Family Channel]
The new Fox Family Channel format takes over the Family Channel on August15th. A number of great '80 cartoons are ending up there, such as the RealGhostbusters and Dungeons and Dragons. I haven't seen a full schedule, andalthough I haven't heard anything about He-Man or She-Ra ending up there, this channel seems like a good home for our favorite shows. :-)Reportedly the people who answer their e-mail give straighter answers thanthe Cartoon Network and are far more polite.
If you'd like to contact Fox Kids about this, you can contact them atfoxkids@foxinc.com or snail mail them at:
When I first brought up the possibility of this new contest, I got quite anumber of responses from people who said they'd participate, but at themoment, I only have submissions from 2 people. I'm willing to extend thedeadline if need be, though. Let me know as soon as possible if I need todo so, please. Remember, if you don't have a scanner, you can send me aphoto and I'll scan it for you...
Granita (the female rock warrior): This will involve a lot of painting...The base would be a Rokkon/Stondar figure and some female figure; itdoesn't matter if it's from MOTU or POP. You'd have to somehow get therock stuff off one of the rock warriors, and you'd have to stick the figureinto the rock. Of course before you do that, you should paint the figure. This one will not turn into the comet form but... I don't have theepisode(s) in which she appears so if I remember correctly she had only onerock on her back. If so, it'd make it a lot easier.
If you have any tips on customizing figures, e-mail me and I'll put it inthe next Scrolls.
[Question Of The Month]
This month's question comes from Scott White (Cringer) - "Ifthe
series were back on the air and they decided to make a 5 episodemini-series
about the origin of one of the characters, who origin would youlike to
see?"
Please send your answers (and suggestions for future questions) to me atctyner@he-man.org.
Last month's question was also from Scott White:
"Do you think
that Prince Adam would ever reveal his secret to Teela? Ifso, when do you
think he would do it?"
Response to this question was pretty light, but here are the responses Ireceived:
"I think Adam
was bound to have revealed his identity as He-Man as it wasobvious that both
his and Teela's destinies seemed intertwined.
If not, then she probably would have figured it out herself; after all, she
wasmore then just a pretty face."
"In regards to
when, if ever, Prince Adam will tell Teela that he is infact He-Man...I believe
it will be during the birth of their first
child."
