I know things have been pretty inactive for the past couple of months. :-) My computer died, my scanner broke, and every second of time has beeneaten up by school, work, and other projects. This newsletter is a coupleof weeks past due (and very, very small), and I haven't really done anymajor updating to my site in a couple of months. I'll try to keep my sitea little more up to date, but don't expect any major revisions untilwww.he-man.org launches (still set for a launch sometime in mid-to-late March).
This newsletter is for you, so please send your comments, suggestions, etc.to me at ctyner@he-man.org.
The deadline for entries for the Second Annual Internet Create-A-Charactercontest has been extended to March 15th. For more information on this, check out last issue, which can be found in the Scrolls archives (see theintroduction for the URL).
I've only gotten in a few entries, and I'd at least like to get as manyentries
submitted as I did with the '97 contest... If you have anyquestions or concerns,
please e-mail ctyner@he-man.org
[He-Man Back On The Air -- In Germany, Briefly]
Martin Kievits (Fesch@aol.com) reports that He-Man, however briefly, wasaired in Germany in December. K-Toon, part of a German digital pay-tvbundle consisting of 30 or so channels, aired the He-Man/She-Ra ChristmasSpecial on Dec. 25th and a few times shortly afterwards. The translationto German was poorly done, by the way. :-p
Hopefully this is just the beginning of MOTU/POP's domination of theairwaves! We'll see what 1999 has to hold...
Apparently Amazon.com had information on its site in December about theimpending re-release of He-Man videos in the year 2000. However, thatinformation is no longer being shown on the site, so....I'm not sure what'sgoing on, but wouldn't it be nice if it were true? :-)
[Question Of The Month]
Last month's question was probably the least successful ever, drawing in arecord 0 responses. I guess that's what I get for mailing out a newsletterin mid-December when everyone's on break. :-p
Thom McKiernan (thom@fucola.freeserve.co.uk)
has come up with a questionthat I think should bring in at least a handful
of responses. "Many peopleI have talked to are so obsessed with He-Man that
they have had dreamsabout him, me being one of them. Are we just mad, or
is this acommon occurrence? What have the dreams been about?"
Thom mentions
a dream he once had involving He-Man. "I had
one a long timeago in which I was assisting He-Man and his allies cross a
rope bridge. However, the bridge snapped and we allcascaded into the shark-infested
waters. 'Luckily' we were all saved byDavid Hasselhoff and the Baywatch team.
I don't know how I would ofpreferred it to have ended?!?! I also have constant
nightmares of my dadbeing Skeletor. I think I need help!"
Send your responses to ctyner@he-man.org and they'll be included with thenext issue.
