***fan-based Character Bust Challenge***

Hey fellow fans,
Baena and I have a new challenge for all of the creative fans on these boards. We want your characters!
You've all probably seen the bust we put together of the Green Goddess and know that we plan to do a few more fan-based characters. Well, we thought it would be cool to get more people involved, so here's what we have in mind.

We want everyone, who would be interested, to submit your own original MOTU-like character profile and history as a concept from which we would then design and make a bust, just like we've done with the Green Goddess. Submit as many characters as you like. We welcome all ideas and submitions as long as they are original and not specific characters used in the toon or comic, this way we can avoid any legal entanglements.

You can submit ideas, one of two ways:
1) Post your submition in this thread, or
2) If you want to keep your private for now, send it in a PM to me or Baena and we will keep it to ourselves until you tell us we can reveal it.

You do not have to be an artist to submit a character either, it can be as simple as a writen discription or as detailed as full color sketches with turnarounds and scematic profiles. Please provide a name, a species, and a brief history and discription of your character (ie. which era they lived in, who they were affiliated with, basic physical features, etc.)

After we have collected as many characters as people want to submit, we will narrow it down to the top five that inspire us the most. If your design is one of the five chosen, all we ask is that you allow us, and work with us, to refine your design, into something we would like to create. Together we will create a final design sketch of each of the fivecharacters selected. Then we will set up a poll to let all the fans decide which of the five characters will be 'busted' to join the others.

As a thanks to the creator/originator of the new design, he or she, or they, will recieve a complimentary bust , and we will make a limited number of casts of the new design available to other fans who may want one.

So post your ideas, your discriptions, and sketches, whatever you have that will sell us on your idea. We will keep this thread open for two weeks and then we will start narrowing down the list MARCH 1st.

*Finalists were increased from 3 to 5 because of the overwhelming participation.

I reserve this space for my character Amburr from the New Custom Project idea thread
Amburr - Apprentice to the Shaman Glade, her name is pronounced AHmbrrrr, She is in her early teens, she is, however, the only natural child of her mother Cahzet. Amburr’s father died in battle before she was born, and her mother dotes on her quite a bit since she is her only natural child. An amatuer magician, Amburr nonetheless has enormous potential when it comes to her powers; for now, she mostly uses her magical ability for trivial matters and for recreation, but her mentor is trying to instill in her more respect for her own abilities. Often impetuous and stubborn, Amburr doesn’t have a great deal of patience when it comes to learning magic, she feels she already knows it all. Her shortsightedness has often caused some calamity in the village of the Talon Clan, but her heart is always in the right place. Amburr has a crush on Prince Adam, and although she has tried several times to act on this crush, Adam seems to think she is too young for him, but is nonetheless flattered by her advances. Though she is under the tutelage of her tribe’s Shaman to someday take his place, Ambur has aspirations of one day becoming a Master, and fighting alongside Adam, Man-at-Arms, and the others.

AWESOME!!! I'm in... is there a deadline? I have a 'project' to finish before I can hit this one up but that may just be a week or two.

Not really. Although, we have already done a few females. Something with a little more testosterone might be nice. But don't rule out female characters, we're open to anything. Even creatures.

I might start something here, but since she's not a copy righted character, (i think) a White cat lady bust would look cool. A redesign of that or something. Just throwing it out there. Very generous offer to do this for someone Royalt1us, and Baena

Sweet! Would any of the Anwat Gar Saga characters qualify? I have an idea for a new (well not so new, he's made a brief appearance on these boards before,...) character...

Name: MANOWAR (MotU name-play of Man of war)
Race: Unknown
History/Description:
Manowar is one of Hordak’s most trusted and elite overlords. Fiercely loyal to Hordak, he is renowned for his brutality in war and feared across many dimensions.
During Hordak’s absence in Etheria, Manowar was largely responsible for crushing the rebel uprising which left the remaining few in hiding all over Etheria. Manowar is also in charge of the elite Human Horde Troopers (as designed by Gbagok) and commands them in Hordak’s name.

Manowar’s weapons of choice include his deadly Broad-sword and a huge Battle-Axe, a gift from Hordak, which has the Jewel of Zagrei embedded into the blade granting the wielder immense power and strength. These abilities include increased strength, and concussive energy emissions from his axe and, due to Manowar embedding a sliver of this jewel in his chest, from his body/hands.

However, unbeknownst to Manowar, the jewel is under the control of Hordak. He is thus more loyal to the Horde’s Ruthless Leader than he could ever imagine….


Name: Uniquor
Race: Aquador
History/Description:
Long have Uniquor and his warriors roamed the oceans of Etheria terrorising
and ravaging all who dare oppose them. An opportunistic being, Uniquor
jumped at the chance to serve Hordak in return for control of the oceans of
Etheria. Uniquor makes sure that the rebels cannot easily use the oceans
to their advantage as he has patrols of Aquadors scouring every shore that he
can.

Uniquor has a huge single horn growing out of his head, bigger than most
other males of his species. He uses this as his weapon to gouge and stab.
He is also stronger than the average Etherian but not as strong as Grizzlor
or Manowar (http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...ad.php?t=98831).
He is ruthless and sly and would prefer to achieve his goals
through guile and cunning rather than brute force.

Uniquor has trained to control certain sea beasts, not all in Etherian
waters, but most of the vicious meat-eaters are at his command if need be.

Uniquor is a deadly foe and a loyal servant of the Horde, his ambitions run
high....perhaps too high, for he dreams that one day not only the oceans
will be his domain


Name:Gortusk
Race: Etherian Wild Mamogor
History/Description:
Gortusk was not always this way. He is yet another innocent; yet still naturally wild; creature captured by Hordak, this time from the mountains of Etheria. After many torturous experiments on him, Gortusk was transformed into a ferocious berserker creature. Hordak would use Gortusk in battles as a trump card, a means to decimate any strong resistance. The ferocity and rage displayed by Gortusk struck fear into many of the Horde's opponents across the galaxy. Some of the rage stems from Hordak corrupting him in such a way but most of it is his pure animal instinct.

I'll work on some torso turnarounds for ya as well...

If you feel it can, or will, fit in with the MOTU mythos and world, feel free to submit it.

Ok, here's my idea. I created it more to give you guys a challenge and inspiration, not a very detailed description – hopefully it is not too vague.

Oh, and sorry but I just couldn't persuade myself to go the 80's route all the way and call her She-Valier…

So:

Name: Saivee/Shevalier

Species: Human

History:
Once a Royal Guard herself the elegant but roguish fighter Saivee quit duty when Duncan's daughter Teela was put in command of the King's Guard. She couldn't accept to obey the order's of a "child" and so she decided to sell her skills to the highest bidder and become the mercenary Shevalier. After working as a bounty hunter, bodyguard and gladiator far away from Eternos, she built up her own band of soldiers of fortune, vowing to fight anyone for enough gold. By accepting a contract from Skeletor she is trapped in her own twisted code of honor, forced to fight her former friends although she hates Skeletor's evil goals…

Appearance:
Shevalier's left eye is hidden behind an eye bandage made of expensive cloth. Her face is scarred but there's still a remarkable beauty in her features. Her blonde hair is plaited to a long pigtail, interwoven with exquisite jewelry. Shevalier's armor is obviously made out of her old orange and green armor (the armor of an Eternian Royal Guard), but because of the damages from many wars it looks worn, and she had to repair many parts herself on the battlefield. Most importantly she did not only repair her gear but also added useful tools and rich embroideries to her armor. Overall the look may be a bit closer to a knight's armor – and a medallion with her 'coat of arms' and a cape resembling that of a king adds to this feeling…

Priestess Asherah , Daughter of Empress Anath from the Isle of Mist.
Sequana is a servant of the Goddess who is well versed in ancient lore, magic and battle. It is her job to protect the temple and those whom reside within. One day she will take the role of High Priestess as well as Empress.

The Isle of Mist has been undisturbed for many generations. Outsiders rarely come to the matriarchal island where the women are warriors. During the Great Unrest they joined Capt. Randor’s army to defeat Keldor; for they feared what would become of them if Keldor ruled Enternos. However, when Keldor was vanquished Anath felt as if her warriors were forgotten for the bravery they had shown and were shunned from receiving any spoils of war(which they believed they were due). Dejected, and angry the women sailed back to their homeland where they have no contact with Randor.

Asherah lives during Randor’s reign and is seventeen years old.

Human:
Skin: White
Hair: White long and flowing.
Eyes: Cornflower blue
Tattoo: Blue swirling lines around the corners of her eyes.
Jewelry: Thin silver arm and wristbands with dark blue jewels. A delicate silver band rests on her forehead and in the middle is a blue stone.
Clothes: light purple(lilac) half shirt, which is sleeveless. Her skirt rests low on her hips with two large slits up either side. Accompanying the dress is a silver belt that hangs down the front with multi silver strands. She has a lilac hooded cape that is fastened with a blue jewel around her neck.

I'll hopefully have some more original characters but here's my first go. First I came up with a rough concept all my own. Then I designed it as if it were in the old toy line (recycled parts and such). Then it was just a matter of updating it and reincorporating some of the original elements.



Name: Garrek
Affiliation: Masters
Classification: Paladin
Race: Human

Garrek is part of a secret caste of knights sworn to protect the secrets of the Elders. He learned the art of combat from the Man-At-Arms Duncan, and studied magic under the Sorceress herself. For the most part he and his kind stay in the shadows, nothing more than a myth to even the most worldly of Eternians. However when need arises, Garrek fights alongside the Masters in the guise of a simple warrior. He wears a full suit of armor and carries a modified halberd.
