Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this - does anyone think the sets will have the commercial bumpers with Orko?

Obviously the UK dvd's did not because they didn't have commercials from what I have heard, but I hope with it being an American release they will include these!

Well, we will have to see how much the sets go for. While I have enjoyed the heck out of the UK releases, I'm not sure if I'm in love enough to double dip.

(And yet I am in love enough to come post to a internet message board? Something's not scanning right)

Ah, who am I kidding. I'll probably get the stupid things. I only hope that they liscense the extras from the UK discs so I can free up some shelf space.

Hurray for season box sets, I'll have to get myself a multi regional dvd player, thank God I wont have to wait two months for a mere six episodes anymore

Although I wish the english commentaries were still being used perhaps ER could ask for some help from old Mr Toons with regards to special features?

Also New adventures of He Man may be officially releasedc

Comic Book Resources got a press release about this too.

    HE-MAN

We received a press release stating that Navarre Corporation, a leading publisher and distributor of a broad range of home entertainment and multimedia software products, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, BCI Eclipse Company, LLC ("BCI"), has acquired certain exclusive distribution rights to Entertainment Rights' classic animation series "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" and "The New Adventures of He-Man." Under the terms of this agreement, BCI will exclusively promote and distribute both classic animated series on DVD throughout the U.S. and Canada. The first release will be a "10 Best Episode" 2 DVD set from the original "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" series which is scheduled to be launched at retail in July 2005 in conjunction with the 2005 San Diego Comic-Con International convention. This release will be followed later in the fall of 2005 with the first of multiple DVD box sets of the complete series in "season" format, plus comprehensive and generous special features.

I, too would pass on any "Greatest of..." if not for it being MOTU. I've passed on Fat Albert for now, since there's a complete set to be released, but MOTU, I have to have it!!

I just saw this earlier this morning, and it certainly made my day. I so wanted season sets, like Transformers and GI Joe. I wonder how NA wound up in the deal, though? It wasn't Filmation.

Anyway, I, too, will likely buy the compilation and then the season sets. I know I won't be able to wait until fall if I see it in July.

I'll pick up the 10 episode best of for two main reasons. 1. I'm a sucker for anything MotU and 2. I won't be able to wait any longer knowing that it is out. I want these too badly.

That would be a fantastic extra for one of the sets, IMO.

Best guess of mine is that Filmation still owned the Media Rights when NA came around, even though Filmation had ceased to exist by then. DIC Entertainment probably purchased Filmation's rights from whoever was still holding them (Lou Scheimer?) and one way or another, with some legal clause or some such, the NA collection wound up bundled in with the Filmation library.

Makes sense, since Lou Scheimer went to DIC Entertainment with their He-Ro: Son of He-Man concept.

Oh yeah, now I'm getting pumped back up again!!! This is so cool, I can't wait for fall to get here now. I wonder what the extras are gonna be though? Maybe they'll show highlights from the Comic Con conventions like the Transformer boxsets have done. Well whatever they're gonna have, I'm sure it's gonna be great.

I'm pretty sure NA was part of the MOTU deal because it's He-Man, not She-Ra.
And because NA was icing on the cake, where POP would have cost a lot more to nab.

She-Ra is treated as a separate license because it has significant stand-alone brand value.

Tha'ts why She-Ra has always fallen short on any sort of recent release.
Everyone tests the waters with MOTU first because it was always the stronger seller.

Hooray! It's finally happening, He-Man on DVD!!! I'm so excited! It will be cool to have the New Adventures on DVD too I suppose. I never saw them,so it will give me a chance to see them for teh first time. I just hope if those don't seell to well, they won't hold it against She-Ra.

Side Note, Pig Boy's Artwork looks awesome!!! It will be hard to top that!

My question then is what about the Mike Young production episodes? Or is that another copyright nightmare? Just curious, because that would complete the "trilogy" of series. Any idea?
