Funky's Fan Challenge: The Intergalactic Carnival

    Name: Widow Black
    Height: 5'9''
    Weight: 225 LBS.
    Hair Color: Black
    Eye Color: Black
    Race: Rachna
    Alignment: Intergalatic Carnival

History: The Arachnae are a solitary race, rarely seen outside their natural habitat, the deepest cavernous reaches of the Mystic Mountains. They are usually content in their reclusive lives, where they prey on anything unforunate enough to land in their silken traps. Since the days of Preternia the Arachnae hunted the proud Andreenos, and even after thousands of years of evolution, in which the Andreenids ascended into an industrialized age of science driven colonies of great power, the Arachnae still remained their most feared natural predators, surviving on their own basic instincts.

Much like her ambitious cousin, Webstor, Widow Black was not content with merely gorging herself and reproducing once every 50years like other members of her species. She could care less about the centuries old rivalry between her people and the Andreenids, and as tasty as they were, she wanted more. Seeking riches, and power, the kind of power only an alliance with a powerful group of criminals could bring, she deviated from the solitary nature of her people and sought these things with all her fearsome gifts.

It was in this search that she fell in league with the Wring Master. The evil alien entity was impressed with Widow's intelligence and guile. He showed her a Universe of opportunity and wealth, and of food. Her tastes began to shift, and under the cloak of dark wonders of the carnival, she was seducing those she enjoyed preying on the most, curious, thrill seeking, and often stupid humans. However, unlike those kept under his employ, Widow Black is far more a partner than a subordinate.

Widow Black is cold, cruel, and calculating, living up to her namesake in every sinister aspect. Though she prefers to lay in wait, hiding underneath beautiful silken garments of leather and lace, coaxing hapless victims with the promise of passion from her mysterious carnival tent, she is not without her other talents. Should her vile secret be compromised, or her carnival mates in need of assistance in dealing with unwanted tresspassers, thieves and thugs alike, she becomes a tactile and vicious fighter, able to hold her own against the strongest of adversaries.

It is not known how deep her loyalties run, she does seem rather fond of the female carnies. Being of a race that destroys those that they mate with, one thing is for sure, should anyone double cross her, the consequences of their actions would be dire, for no one who as tasted the widow's kiss has survived.

    Powers:
    - Enhanced strength, speed and agility, far beyond that of a normal human being.
    - Dense chitin exoskeleton, able to resist damage and hostile conditions
    - Strong silken excretions which can be used as escape lines, traps and other web constructs
    - Venomous Bite which paralyses and eventually kills her prey
    - Can regrow lost appendages over time

I most likely won't have the time to join in, but still...

I think the circus episode would be a good starting point for ideas.

If I can find the time I may give the clown a try.

I had a thought that a character named FUNK-E-PUNK-E-BOY could maybe make an appearance at the Circus.

Any thoughts as to what he may look like?

    TRAPPER-
That might be fun to see Edgor at the freak show.
I never intended for him to be a MOTU character, but he would certainly fit the freak-show bill. Thanks for the suggestion.
He could maybe be one of the guys that helps set-up and then clean-up too.

Nice try there but I really don't think my name would fit a good MOTU character, no matter how many hyphens you use.

Has The Gamemaster ever been featured in a fan challenge? I figured if anything he'd be a good character to redesign, even though personally, I never liked him.

This thread isn't getting as much attention as my Screamor thread, so I thought I'd bump it up with a little substance. I'm working on some concept art which I will post within the next week. I hope in the meantime these little bios will arouse some interest:

Wring Master: As his name implies, the Wring Master is the leader of this not-so-merry band of misfits known as The Carnival. This tall, slender humanoid, who looks like he robbed the wardrobe closet of a disturbed prince before blasting to Eternia in his colossal interstellar big top is a far cry from the jingling juggaling wonders that seduce wanderers into the carnival grounds.

Wring Master is as cruel as he is greedy, and his thirst for wealth knows no limits. No one, not even his most trusted minion, Carny Val, has been spared a corrective sting of his whip.

Though the Wring Master does not possess any known superhuman abilities, such has enhanced strength or mystical prowess, his charisma and iron will keep his followers in check. His enemies are far less fortunate, for they face the full power of his Beastamer, a technological lashing coil which can ensnare, lacerate and bind his targets, keeping them at bey while he delievers a painful blow from his Showstopper, a charged cain, capable of generating an unknown amount of violent electricity.

Carny Val : She is the Wring Master's most loyal, and most beautiful alley. The dazzling Carny Val is a humanoid acrobat possessed of astounding agility which was further augmented after downing a concoction of strength and agility enhancing fluids, stolen from the secret vaults of one of the many great alien empires the carnival has suckered into entertaining.

While Carny Val is intelligent enough to break away from her master and pursue her own devices, she is rather fond of a particular carnival member. It is this infatuation that keeps her around, along her with honor to uphold the promise she made to the Wring Master many years ago.

Well versed in throwing weapons, Carny Val is a formidable combatant. She employs all sorts of wild circus themed armaments to obliterate her foes, from explosive juggling pins, to razor sharp decorative scarves which line her costume. Her entire arsenal was created by the carnival's own Who-Di-Ni, whom modifies the plunder of a thousand worlds to suit her needs.

Tynee : Hailing from an unknown universe, Tynee is all brawn and very little brain, a pint-sized powerhouse of unbelievable resilience and stamina. Standing less than 4 feet tall, Tynee makes up for his mental and vertical short-commings with sheer brute force.

His sturdy frame and sufficient armor enable him to launch himself at great speeds while tucked into an armored ball. Tynee can shatter stone walls and as quickly as the rocks crumble, slip away into a crowd of stunned spectators without raising an eye. His dense molecular structure suggest that he comes from a dimension of intense gravity, where the life forms have become unyeilding in their make-up to prevent from being torn apart. The Wring Master is rather fond of his proud to serve living cannonball.

Two-Time: Double your pain, double their fun. These twins are trouble for everyone. Each possessing mystical jems which allow them communicate with one another as well as combine their very bodies into one,
Karlos and Keelos instantly become a super-powered threat.

Their natural talents of sword training, wrestling and martial arts make them formidable as one or two, however when combined, their strength, coordination, durability and stamina reach superhuman proportions. In battle then can literally bob in and out of this form, dazzling their enemies before finishing them with a deadly combination effort. They can only be seperated by their own choosing, or if their hearty combined consciousness is rendered completely disoriented by a powerful blow.

Two-Time is loyal to Wring Master, and lovestruck by Carny Val... the problem is that there are two of them and only one of her.

Fire Eator: Fire Eator is a living flamethrower. Once an egotist prince of the west, he cursed by a horrible spell, now he must consume combustible matter to fuel his fire, never again to dwell within the company of those he desired to be desired by. His followers turned away from him, and soon he was stripped of his title and banished from his kingdom.

Growing distant and bitter, as the world around his flaming ash ridden body grew colder, he encountered the denizens of the carnival when they entertained his people. Recognizing his power, Wring Master offered him a chance to redeem himself, by burning away the remains of his old life.

Since the day he obliterated his homeland, he travels with Wring Master, gaining attention and praise from astounded audiences. Then when the show is over, and the big top packed away, he lights up their faces again, with the utter destruction of the villages Wring Master has plundered.

Trap-Eeze: Trap-Eeze is a master of infiltration and escape. This high flying gymnastic wonder can bound over fortified walls to sabotage enemy defenses. He has aided the carnival in entertaining and invading many great kingdoms all over the universe.

Thanks to his speaclized costume, Trap-Eeze's has the ability to absorb high impact. Almost any psysical attack upon him is negated, sending him shooting into the air like a rocket, to land safely away from his attacker and return with a nasty surprise.

Trap-Eeze uses a Reverse Kinetic Balance Staff. A powerful weapon which when in contact with it's target will, like it's possessor, send it's victim soaring across the battlefield with deadly force.

Who-Di-Ni: A mage of notable mystical talent, Who-Di-Ni is a master of illusion and deception. Though he cannot manipulate actual forces of fire, water and air, he can convince anyone otherwise, summoning fantastic confounding tricks that his enemies cannot resist.

A sharp-dressed deciever, and possessed of a keen intellect, Who-Di-Ni's true intentions and loyalties are as much of a mystery as his actual origin and power. Though he is satisifed to travel with the carnival under the leadership of the Wring Master for now, there is no telling what tricks he has up his sleeve.

Scarlette: A red-haired runaway, Scarlette was trained under Wring Master and Carny to be the ultimate pick pocket. However she does not waste her talents on change purses and peasants. Scarlette steals mystical artifacts from right out of the hands of their respective guardians.

Her small size and innocence not only allow her to rob mages blind, but talk her way out of almost any trouble she may find herself in. When the need arises for her to fight, she does so with the same strange arsenal Carny possesses.

Though not as skilled in combat, as her physical power is within the limits of an average human female, she is quite the marksman. When using her Firecracker Plasma guns, she can bring down hearty warriors and terrifying many times her size without breaking a sweat.

So come on boys! I'd be willing to submit my paltry art only to be shown-up by the great masters lurking around this site!

I'm a little disappointed no one added characters of their own, but I refuse to let this idea die! Maybe good old gbagok could be roped into unleashing some creepy carnival cohorts for us!

There is no limit to the bizarre entities that could be hiding under an Eternian big-top!

Is there any updates with character designs yet?

I just finished a custom of a character that would make a fine addition to
the freak show!! Plus you will need someone to put up and brake down the tents right?

    EDGOR

Let me know what ya think if he could join the carnival

Thanks for showing your interest. I cranked the bios out in a matter of minutes. Maybe if I refined and expanded them, it would raise more interest.

I've seen your custom and I really like him. Maybe we can arouse some interest just by chatting about this. But how would a bounty hunter fit into a carnival? Perhaps he is hired by the Wring-Master to dispatch with anyone who would oppose his carnival of delightful disasters from setting up shop.

I think it's great that you want him included, but at the moment, there isnt anything to join.

Here is a quick drawing I did for Carny Val. If I have time I will Color it.

Explosive juggling ball in her hand and razors on the end of the scarf.

That was a gift to me! Pretty much how I envisioned her, voluptuous and powerful looking. As for a color scheme, I'd want to see crazy carnival colors. A real clockwork orange look with maybe a facial tattoo of some sorts.

Thanks friend, she looks great so far!
