I started a "What is your favorite 80s cartoon?" thread in the Other forum a few months ago (although oddly the search engine didn't bring it up for me or I would have provided a link). There are some really good toons missing from this list (Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc).

For me personally there is no clear preferred cartoon, but some personal favs are:

    He-Man and She-Ra of course
    Transformers
    G.I. JOE
    Thundercats
    MASK
    Voltron
    Robotech (except minmei)
    C.O.P.S.
    Captain N
    Centurions
    and on and on...

Hell, truthfully compared with all the anime out now I love anything from the 80's much more then most things out now. And I know Voltron is anime same as Robotech but at that time not EVERYTHING that came out was done in that style so it wasn't as done to death. Please also note that I am a fan of DBZ/GT and tons of ADV stuff so I'm not railing against the genre, and sorry I ranted.

    Chris here...

ThunderCats! Followed closely by the original TMNT, then She-Ra, then He-Man, then probably Visionaries - but, there's not a lot to choose between them, I love them all!

    Take care...

    Thundercats.

But shouldn't this be in the Other discussion forum?

She-Ra is what introduced me to He-Man. So, of what's listed I would have to go with She-Ra for my favorite 80s cartoon. I can remember coming home from school and watching Scooby Doo,C.O.P.S, and then the power hour (She-Ra, He-Man) I would wake early on Saturdays first came on Super Mario Bros. Captain N, something all stars I can't remember the name it had popular sports players in the cartoon acting as some kind of heroes, tmnt, and then He-Man and She-Ra. Saturday mornings used to rock.

F.Y.I.-the show with the atheletes was called ProStars. It had I believe Micheal Jordan,Wayne Gretzky, and Bo Jackson.

I know ya didn't ask,but knowledge is always free anyway so enjoy!

The original He-Man, by far. No show, before or since, has ever caught my attention or fueled my imagination to the degree that this show did. It is the only show that I can sit and watch and laugh at and point out the ludicrous plot holes and inconsistencies and still love. It completely blows away all the ridiculous nonsense that passes for kids' entertainment these days.

    Hello Everyone,

For me it is a very close race between 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' and 'She-Ra: Princess of Power'. The others are all very cool too, but those two are icons of my childhood, maybe icons of my life. lol

    Take Care,
    Darren

Wow...missing one of the penultimate 80's franchises there. and GI Joe...although I didn't really watch that much. I'm going Thundercats.

He-Man!!! my second favorite Thunder Cats, and my third is not on the list. Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors which IMO is very underated.

I voted He-Man but I'm shocked that so many good titles were left out and we didn't get an "other" option. GI JOE? TRANSFORMERS? NINJA TURTLES? GHOSTBUSTERS?
