    Redesign Horde Prime

I know many here didn't like the concept of Horde Prime, and the way how he was portrayed in the comics was a joke, and in She-ra just that big arm was not much to go on (even though Horde Prime was portrayed as a being not to be underestimated)

If Horde Prime had to be redesigned, how would you like to see him?

I think basing him on the Marvel character Perrikus could be a good start.

Perrikus was the guy who split half Thor's hammer for those wondering.

    http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/perrikus.htm

Having Horde Prime as a being portrayed like that to me would be more sensible.

NOw here is a deadly force, Hordak of the new series, and Horde Prime based on the design of Perrikus.

Like to know what other peoples opinions are.

I dunno... I kind of see him looking somewhat like this:

Bust created by Royalt1us, painted by me, designed by Battle Brak.

I always figured HP to be more robotic ... a dark godd entity infused into a cyborg body of immeasurable strength. I did a full design of HP based on that concept a few years back and Voila! The sketchbook it was in was stolen.

I'd LOVE to get back in and flesh this character out. He has perhaps the most visual potential of any MotU character in existence.

    Very cool, guys!

I think I imagined him a bit closer to Grimbot's version. Maybe, not that big...but the design matches what was shown in the She-Ra Cartoon. The Arm and his ship are obviously big parts of the Grimbot design and I really like that...I would love to try giving it a shot...He's a great character to do because there's so much room for interpretation.

If he was a dragon type beast, how then did he have a son?

I like your idea Baena that would be along the lines of how I'd image him

For me, I'd have to decide if Horde Prime is of the same race as Hordak, or a different species altogether. I've read several theories on here and my favorite is that the Horde is a vast intergalactic empire and Hordak's forces are but a very small part of the "big picture." I would say yes - that Hordak's species are the leaders/rulers of the Horde and they become parts of the Horde Council, The Horde Generals and the Horde Warriors. And they all live on Hordeworld. I'm sure there is a very complex caste system on Hordeworld as well. But all of the Hordeworkd species enjoy the benefits of intergalactic plunder.

So as powerful as Hordak is, there are other Horde generals (for lack of a better term) that are equally powerful if not more powerful. Hordak is only one of very many.

Horde Prime is the supreme commander of all of the Horde. He'd have to be pretty powerful - somewhere on the power scale around Darkseid, maybe even Galactus. I would think that he is so powerful, and his subjects are so many that he rarely leaves Hordeworld, and only tends to his generals when the situation warrants.

Getting back to Hordak... I like MYP's visual portrayal as well as the fact that Hordak was pretty ruthless (i.e. executing calix). But he lacked the... tarute that the Filmation Hordak had. Sure, Filmation's version was much more light-hearted, but he was an intergalactic threat to seveal planets.

Personally, I'd combine the two. I'd take Hordak and make him a ruthless, fearless leader. One of Horde Prime's star pupils. I would also keep Filmation's cyborg aspects to Hordak, rather than his reliance solely on sorcery. Hordak is someone who would regularly report back to Hordeworld so he would not lose Horde Prime's favor. Yet with all the planets he has conqured for Horde Prime, Eternia is the one thorn in his side that he can't seem to overthrow. So he continually fights He-man in his efforts to overthow Eternia and look like a fool to Horde Prime.

So what does Horde Prime look like? I'd say he shares the species-specific features, but that's where the similarities end. Through his use of science and sorcery, Horde Prime has evolved away from the rest of the Hordeworld inhabitants - almost to the point where he is a god. He is much larger in stature - probably 2 to 3 times larger than Hordak. He is also much older - perhaps a couple thousand years old - a very long, unnatural life prolonged through his evil sorcery and cybernetics. He probably switches between robes and armor as the situation warrants - his skin crawling with magic infused nanites (think of the Venom symbiote in Spider-man).

Horde Prime is no sloth. He's not some stagnat emperor (such as Palpatine), but he is constantly seeing to expand his power and his empire. As a new planetary system falls, legions of servants swarm the planet and if something catches his eye, he uses it to his advantage. What his servants see, Horde Prime sees.

Nice. Personally I like the whole nebulous one-armed entity - very Cthulhu Mythos...

That bust is a fantastic design!

I never really liked the idea of Horde Prime (I prefer that Hordak is the head of the empire). Although I guess he always was more Darth...

Well, he's a fan based character, and to keep out of trouble with Mattel, an icon such as a Horde symbol was intentionally left off.

That was the idea behind it because I always thought that influences from Horde Prime went into making Stampede, since BraveStarr took Power of Grayskulls place. So if the Horde was around back then Stampede/Tex Hex relation might have been what was the idea behind the early creation of the Horde. Well back then I had it all out elaborated much wider but thatīs the rough idea actually.

I think that this original concept by Battle Brak, and with colours somewhat like this, are very close to what he looks like.

(As Baena has already pointed out, this concept was later slightly revised and used for a different character)

I'm thinking that he is ussually as many other envision him, very tall, several times the size of a human, but that he can change his size at will, to gigantic Filmation or human-size. And naturally, he should only seldomly reveal much of his face, so a cloak covering his face, in an unshroudable blackness is of course necessary.

ALSO: Odd that we haven't had an offical redesign-challenge, isn't it? I'm quite certain that we haven't had one yet..

Horde Prime should be a Dragon. Kind of like Ivotas has done. It just makes sense. Now someone get to work on a biga** Dragon that looks cool with a bunch of technology inplemented on him.

That is how Horde Prime should be. A biga** technical Dragon type guy. You nailed it pretty good Skelepimp. Just not a fan of the two head thing.

It may well be. You would know better than me, but I think I snagged it from some version of Robotech.

I kinda agree with this one...mainly 'cause you remembered that he's supposed to have two heads.

But this is a killer design.

I didn't know until recently, either..It's a weird thing...When they show his eyes..they only show one pair of eyes...and he talks like he's got one head...and then out of nowhere Hordak says he got Horde Prime two ties for his Birthday "One for each head." I forget which episode this is from. But it's interesting...
