I'll have to post an old old drawing I did because I'm still kind of working on my newer one and I can't finish it for a while.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else think the female ranger resembles the filmation character Boweena?

i am loving all the enteries in this round so far

ok here is my version of sea hawk. this is actually the design i came up with to create my custom figure of sea hawk 2006.
for my sea hawk i wanted to keep true to his original 80's design but just make a few subtle little changes here & there so as he would fit in with the rest of the new he-man characters.

gbagok: i'm kind of new around here, so i hadn't seen this one before. i like it a lot (although it looks very different from your current style). seahawk's devil-may-care attitude is very apparent and you did a fantastic job of keeping his color scheme while adding in some asymetrical elements to his costume. Awesome!

thorr: i really like the long coat, the cutlass/scimitar, and details like the buckles on his boots--it all helps emphasize the pirate theme. great work!

Monikasvo: i guess your version of seahawk works for the horde! or is this how he might have dressed before adora won him over to the rebellion? i love the double muskets and the hawk emblem on the holster. the horde boots are cool, and could have a lot of practical applications. i do wish that his pants were a bit lighter so that they stood out more from the black parts of his costume. the shape of his blade is wicked, and the red gem embedded in it is a nice detail.

Here's mine. I made him a while back for the POP Group custom figure challenge but I've added his pet since then. He's made from a 200X Adam (obviously) since I wanted him to look younger (even though in the classic storyline he was actually only about 21) I swapped out his hair for Jungle Attack He-Man's and dry-brushed on his facial hair to give it more of a rugged two day growth rather than a thick full beard (again makes him look younger) His coat is from a Van Helsing figure though I had to paint the sleeves on so again going for a rugged look I made them appear torn and tattered. His sword is a Gundam sword. Also note the ring I put on his finger -a nod to "Anchor's Aloft" The rat on his shoulder is Davey Jones from Anchor's Aloft but like Cringer this 200x version is highly intelligent but does not speak. He is Hawk's loyal pet.

I'm still working on his story but basically what I've got so far is Hawk's father the Falcon was a buccaneer loyal to Bright Moon (Kinda like Sir Francis Drake was a pirate loyal to the British crown) Falcon was in direct rivalry with Admiral Scurvy (Then a navel officer of Bright Moon) who despised him both as a pirate stealing the honor that should have been his as an officer and because Scurvy was in love with the (yet to be named) woman who would become Falcon's wife and Hawks' mother. Though she only had eyes for The Falcon.

Falcon continued to serve Bight Moon until one day he received notice to rendezvous with King Micha at a secluded cove. When he arrived he was ambushed by a Horde fleet along with Scurvy who told them Micha had sold Falcon out to the Horde as part of a deal. During the struggle that followed Hawk's mother was accidentally killed by Scurvy (the blow was meant for Falcon) In anger young Hawk attacked and cut out Scurvy's eye. Falcon managed to get Hawk away in a life boat but remained aboard the ship fighting Scurvy as it went down. No one knows if he survived or not he has not been seen since.

Hawk grew up despising Bright Moon for betraying his parents to their deaths and began a life as a pirate swearing loyalty to no one and striking out against Horde and Rebel alike. Years later during a raid he encountered and captured Glimmer and Adora, planning to use Glimmer as a hostage against Bright Moon. Glimmer however told a different story saying it was Falcon who had turned traitor and was responsible for her father Micha's disappearance.

The truth soon came out when they were attacked by a still alive Admiral Scurvy, now a Horde officer. In a typical villain moment Scurvy revealed that he was behind the plot and had betrayed both Micha and Falcon to the Horde, before leaving Hawk and Glimmer in a death trap while taking Adora prisoner back to the Horde. Naturally Hawk and Glimmer escaped and after freeing Adora and defeating Scurvy, Hawk pledged his loyalty back to the Rebellion and was given a royal pardon by Queen Angella.

Hawk became a loyal friend and ally, began a romantic relationship with Adora and played a crucial part in the recruitment of Mermista to the Rebellion but that's another story all together.

I'm pretty excited about this one because it represents how I see the She-Ra universe if it were to exist as a cartoon (while the Double Trouble and Catra that I've recently done have been more like concept work for a live action piece). After watching the Sea Hawk and Return of the Sea Hawk on my DVD set, I decided to stay as true to the original character and simply update his look a bit. I also looked at some Erol Flynn pictures for a few inspirations (such as the high waisted pant and princely poof sleeves.)

Here's my entry. Its pretty generic , I guess. I wanted to maintain the classic look of the character & yrt met the 200x style. So here he is.

SEA HAWK(Heroic Pirate of the Etherian Seas)

Once a loyal Member to the Evil Horde, Sea Hawk was kept in charge of Transporting Horde Weapons accross Etheria, but after being betrayed by the Hordak, Sea Hawk vowed to destroy Everything the Horde stood for & as a result allied himself with the rebels after meeting with Adora.

The sword he uses is known as the Falcon Falchion, which is transceneded from Generation to Generation in his family. Made of of a combination of the finest Metals on Etheria the sword proves to be unbreakable. With the powerful sword & his trusted crew, Sea Hawk wages a constant battle to free Etheria from Hordak & his Evil Horde.

nightwing: ARGGGG!!! i mistyped your name last time! i'm so embarassed--sorry about that. at any rate--great custom. who's the base figure? he looks familiar... one of these days, you're going to have to take a huge group shot of all your customs!

Lord_Of_Destruction: another great custom, and quite different from nightwing's! i like the white in the color scheme--it really makes your custom stand out.

osgood: i'm liking your cartoon style! you did a good job capturing sea hawk's flynn-inspired personality. the coloring effects you put on the sword look great--the fluid shape of it makes it look like the blade could double as a whip. and the lighting is subtle, but really effective.

2-bad: that's not generic--it's done in trademark 2-bad style, which is awesome! The details on the costume are great, and i agree with J-Sun--the hawk motifs are very cool.


i based mine entry on seahawk's later appearances in anchors aloft and the locket. actually, i was kind of flying blind, because i barely remember those episodes, and all i had to go off of was a few screen grabs from the ultimate she-ra guide (link here). i didn't make any drastic changes--instead i just made some tweaks to push the superhero aspect of sea hawk's masked persona. actually, if you ignore the color scheme, this looks like a cross between green arrow and robin (tim drake's original costume).

I totally agree skeleton crew. That is a fantastic concept bootleg. I really love how close he looks to Raven of the Teen Titans & the sheild idea is Brilliant.

Its been so long since I watched She-ra I totally forgot the guy had an Energy sword. We'll I'll be posting a back story soon which will explain his sword in my version.
