Horde Chibis - Double Trouble and Vultak

Double Trouble is based on Bootleg's redesign that he did for the competition. ALthough not technically part of the Horde, she does spy on them and has to look the part.

Vultak is my own redesign. Instead of being Hordak's Zoo Keeper, I see him as a hunter for Modulok's scientific experiments, in exchange for upgrades. He travels, hunting for specimens for Modulok to study and nab the genetic material of. You'll see the results of Modulok's labour, when I show you his lab assistants next pic Vultak's got his stun whip with many settings, and a bear trap. He can now grab prey with his feet. The most challenging part was his hooked nose, because my chibis don't have noses, so I hope I've given the impression of hookedness.

I love Vultak! I know that a lot of these characters you are basing on someone else's vision of them, but this is the 2nd time I have really liked your original design for someone. Do you think you'll ever be doing full size versions of these characters? I would love to see a more "grown up" Vultak, because we hardly ever get to see fanart for him.

Skeletoncrew Glad ya diggin his feet mate. I've got a thing about drawing talons/claws on my characters. Love doing it.

bad2begood I think a few more of the characters you're going to be seeing are my own redesigns. Such as Duke Dreer who I'm looking forward to putting up, and Dylamug who may not go down to well, we'll see. The Horde Invaders and around five others will be someones redesigns (Not including the fan characters).

Both you and 2-Bad. want me to draw real. When I get my head back into that style, I will. I really want to draw my Horde Adora in real style, but if anyone wants to have a go, I'd love to see it!

I really like vultak. I'm not sure you pulled off the beak, since the lines of his mouth are straight and, to me, just look like a chibi angry mouth, but the design, overall, is bad-face!

super-munkyboy: your 200x take on double trouble is awesome! osgood is right--that shingled armor is sweet! i love all the details that you added--the jagged dagger, the epaulet clasps, the red tips on the crossbow, and the armbrace on the stock of the crossbow--fantastic! i am beyond honored that you chibified my little redesign.

you did an amazing job on vultak as well--i love how you manage to make these look menacing, in spite of being chibis. the intricate armor design, the detailed rendering on the wings, the menacing talons, and the scars--the details all add up to a great design. the beak-like upper-lip works great, and the backstory goes perfectly with the visual.

i really have to say, not only have your chibis all been great--but the speed that you have been producing them is astonishing. keep up the great work!

osgood Glad ya liked the shingle effect mate. I loved Bootleg's redesign, but I had to adapt it slightly to fit in with my rendition of the Horde.

i was not offended at all--change is good! you did a great job, and i wouldn't have minded at all if you made even more changes.

i guess my version had sort of an armbrace for the crook of the elbow, but i like the way you gave yours a clasp--which makes a lot of sense given the original toy versions of the horde crossbows.

The only thing about Double Trouble is that I'm not that much of a fan of her colour scheme, even though green was her original colour and the Horde symbols have to be red. Guess it was unavoidable.

Also, I've never been a fan of her helmet, even though yours takes it in a much less "bell-like" direction.

Colour schemes have been some of the harder things with the redesigns. I can't go too off key as they would be unrecognisable. I've had a few crits on DA about Vultak's blue, as it doesn't go. LOL, actually I've had 70 chibi characters to draw for my Deviant Art project, and thats before the comic battles, I'm using this as a break and because I couldn't take it anymore, I had to draw some MOTU chibis!!!!!!

Glad ya liking them so far dude, and I've drawn a couple of fan characters so far, but they won't go up until the original characters are all finished. I think I have 8 more of them to do, but I have learnt of a few more......

They have more detail and less anime cuteness then I expect in Chibis.
Yet it doesn't matter much because they are just really cool.

Horde Monkey Are you on DA too, or are you just visiting? Well, I hope you find stuff that you like on there. As for Leech, I had so much trouble drawing him at the angle I wanted, which is why he's been left. When I get the stactions, he'll be done. I really want to chibi him.

McHorde-Trooper Glad ya like them dude. My chibis, I hope, are very much my own. I kinda mixed the original anime style and added my own touches to it. As for the detail, I love details. Its my fav part, so hopefully I'm not going overboard. Expect more back story, I have been holding back a bit, I admit.
