R U attending San Diego Comic Con or Wizard World Chicago or both or neither?

There's a couple threads going about these shows
but I'd like to get a "show of hands" (sorta) of show attendance.
AKA: please vote in the poll

If you wouldn't mind, please vote to let me and others know the number of Orgers who plan to go to these shows.
If you are uncertain of your attendance, please do your best to guestimate.

For me, I don't think I'll be attending either show.
I want to, but when I worked on my budget this weekend, I just don't think it's in the cards.
I have some debts I need to be putting that money towards.
And I always end up having to work at the shows, which puts a damper on things.

I will be going to WWC. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

SDCC, mainly since it's a two hour train ride and tradition at this point.

Me, my wife and my brother are going to WWC this year

I'd love to, but I live in Maryland-not exactly a short commute to either con.

SDCC - probably spending a lot of time at the booth.

i think I am going to WWC. But eh who knows. I may instead go to a historical Fiction conference instead.

val, if i could drive you to chicago-con, would you go? it wouldn't be the same without you... and i'm sure there'd be someone who'd go in on a hotel room with you, so that would save some $$...

of course, i can completely understand about not affording it... i'm hoping that by the time it rolls around i'll have enough saved up too... time will tell...

again, unemployment + me = no go

It's the hotel and meal costs that worry me after that.
Plus, to be honest, I've spent SO many cons with tons of roomates that I want to room by myself.
And it stinks to always have to find myself in the room working for part of the day.

I think the only way I'd be motivated for a con this year is if I was nominated for an Eisner in San Diego.
But since that'll never happen, I don't see a need to go until I have some books at Image to promote.

You can save money by renting a van and sleeping in it!

And then to take showers you can go to truck stops...

This is currently the best plan I've come up with to save money, but I haven't decided if I'll go yet. It basically depends on what guests will be there and the exclusives. Also I have nobody to go with this year.

Baltimore con always has better guests and Heroes Con in Charlotte looks pretty sweet in comparison to Wizard Worlds expensive conventions. I go to Baltimore every year but never been to Heroes.

Yeah, well, I actually have the option of calling Erik right now and verifying that info if I need to.

Nice, I have been meaning to write Mr. Home Town Boy a letter in reguads to 3 sealed Savage Dragon trading card boxes I bought...

Right now, IF I go to one, it'll be Chicago. But that hinges on how much it'll cost for everything, and whether or not I can get the time off from work. And it'll also help if there's a nice large group of .Orgers going.

I'm trying to go to WWC. I fill out my paperwork study this week if the Dr. thinks my meds have calmed the pain enough to qualify. Then it's up to the panel to decide my eligibility, and from there my surgery dates.

So I am not sure. I am trying.

Would love to make it someday.

I'd like to go... I've been out of comics and not really into them for a while... but I know there's PLENTY to keep me occupied aside from comics. But, I'm just not one of the people who has money to do things like that. And being down here in Charlotte, NC, a cheap roadtrip isn't that easy when it's to Chicago or San Diego. Maybe someday.

I'd love to meet alot of you guys, though I am a party pooper. Large, raucus, drinking, "WOOOOO!!" filled gatherings usually put me off since I'm usually the wallflower. But I'd prolly pop into wherever this gang shows up just say hey to folks I know well and let everyone meet the oldest, most crotchety 27 year old in the land.

SDCC for me and I look forward to getting messy with the usual suspects again!
