Patreek: i'm glad you like it man! thanks again for inviting me to join in! and great work on the bio!
Mike Bock: thanks dude... the bandage snakes are something that was in Patreek's earliest pics, and i wanted to keep them in.
Predabot: thank you--i tried to draw wraptor in such a way that he would fit in with the other MOTU/POP sketches that i've done.
Ionus: i'm glad you enjoyed my take--thank you so much.
super-munkyboy: i can't wait to see yours!
galaxy warrior: that is quite a compliment coming from the inner circle of COTU itself!![]()
bad2begood: that was exactly my intention! i'm glad you picked up on it.
My version of Wraptor is definitely meant to be in the style of the classic toon. I had seen Bearshow's design already, and Patreek had given me a sneak peek of Buffalo Bill Man's work-in-progress for reference. Their designs and final renderings were fantastic and done firmly in the style of the 200x style. Putting Wraptor into "classic" mode really just meant simplifying some costume elements and leaving out the skeletal snake appendages. The colors are heavily influenced by Bearshow's version, though I simplified and brightened the colors somewhat, to give Wraptor the cartoony feel of the old series. I added the horny ridges on his brow just because I thought it made him look more dinosaur-y, and simplified the whip so that it wouldn't distract from the snake-bandage-tendril-thingees.
i don't know what happens to thread attachments once the threads get archived, so to avoid any future dead links, here's wraptor (hosted by me), one last time (click for larger view):
