Which is Your Favorite Star Wars Movie?

Out of the 6 movies, which is your favorite? I would have to go with Return of the Jedi. We get to see Luke as a Jedi, the Luke/Vader/Emperor fight, Vader's redemption, cool Great Pit of Carkoon battle, and I even enjoy the Ewoks. My second favorite would be The Empire Strikes Back with A New Hope and then Revenge of the Sith close behind.

I think Return of the Jedi---it's the only one I got to see in the theaters (I was born in '78), so it's special to me for that. I love the whole forest chase on the hovering vehicles, the sand pit worm thingy, Jabba the Hut and Co...lotsa great stuff.

Probably 2nd would be A New Hope, with Empire in 3rd (I don't care for the newer ones).

Empire. Return is a really close 2nd.

Return of the Jedi.
I don't know why, maybe because I was born in '83.

For me, it would be a straight fight between The Empire Strikes Back and Revenge of the Sith - Empire was always my favourite, but these days I lean more towards Sith, which is the one I voted for. The fact that Sith was the first and only Star Wars movie that I've ever seen at the cinema is another factor to tip the scales!

A NEW HOPE, or just "STAR WARS" to me. The first, most magical, most imaginative, not bogged down by ongoing plot and can be viewed on it's own over and over (and over). And the great Peter Cushing.... wow!

Man, it's hard to decide between the first 3, but I'll say Empire. Sure, it's cliche to think that, especially since Clerks where now "Trendy Geeks" say it (I hate Trendy Geeks)... but it just is. Very dramatic, great stuff happened.

Jedi is a very close 2nd with New Hope tagging it's heels.

Sith manages a fairly decent 4th place (There are parts people hated that I didnt' think were as bad as all that)

Clones is Ok, I guess, though the Rifftrax done by Mike Nelson and Kevin Murphy make it even better!

And Menace comes in last, being pulled and tugged along simply by Darth Maul and Qui-Gon. And again... GREAT Mystery Science Theater 3000 treatment by Mike and Kevin on Rifftrax. It's great to have the MST3K gang back and kicking (Can't wait to hear Mike and MAry Jo Pehl riff Glitter..... except it means I have to be seen renting Glitter... )

Unlike most SW fans I enjoyed all 6. True that nothing beats the original trilogy but what ever will?

Besides two different sets of movies set in two different times..Uh maybe it WILL be different...Just a thought...

I also enjoyed all 6 movies, even Episode 1, although I will concur with the majority and say that IMO the first of the prequels is the weakest Star Wars movie. However, the prequels completely justified their existence for me when Episode III came to be! (Hey, that all rhymed!)

Return Of The Jedi I just think the movie is still awesome today, and I found the lightsabre duel between Luke and Vader far better than the overdrawn duel between Obi-Wan and Annikan in Sith, it was too long and boring, Sith would've been a better movie if it was far shorter and if the ending of it had been written better...

I don't 'hate' any of the SW films, but like ALIEN, TERMINATOR and DIE HARD, my interest pretty much begins and ends with the first instalment (or "fourth" in the case of STAR WARS!).
Guess I'm not that big a 'fan', but if A NEW HOPE had ultimately proven to have been the only film I'd be just as happy.

Revenge of the Sith and Empire Strikes back are my favourites.
I actually really like The Phantom Menace, it drifts off a bit when they introduce Anakin, but it doesnt deserve the bad reputation it gets imo.

Attack of the Clones is the worst for me, the love story is badly done and Christopher Lee(one of the best things about the prequels) is underused and doesnt appear until over an hour into the film.

I like em' all though!

Of the original trilogy (Eps 4-6) I would have to go for Return of the Jedi
Of the new trilogy (Eps 1-3) I'd go for Revenge of the Sith.

Hey man, ROTS was also the only Star Wars film I have seen at the cinema as well.

For me Empire is the best one, followed by ROTJ and then A New Hope. ROTS gets a distant fourth and then the atrocious, waste of filmic space can be fought between The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones...(why hire McGregor...WHY?).

It changes often, but right now, I'd say Return of the Jedi. All of the various plots come together and any of the scenes with Vader and Luke were great. The Empire Strikes Back is my second favorite, as it's far more dramatic and takes the world that was introduced A New Hope and explores it even more. After that comes Sith, as it lives up to its potential as a prequel and delievers some great scenes.

After that comes, A New Hope, which I find to be a little unoriginal plot-wise. Then Attack of the Clones, which was mostly bogged down with some terrible dialogue. Finally, in last place is The Phantom Menace, which was just too goofy and children-geared.

Am I reading this thread and poll right? First of all, Jedi? Did everyone just forget about the Ewoks? Secondly, I see The Phantom Menace is included in the poll, since I know that is not a Star Wars movie nor will I ever believe it, I kindly request it to be removed.

Its a tie between ESB and ANH.

The first one was so magical and it was wild fun ride.
The second was dark, emotional and who can forget the... line

Leia: "I love you."
Han: "I know."

That just rocks.

I knew there would be some swipes at the prequels, but there are plenty of people that do like them. I like both Phantom Menace (my fifth favorite) and Attack of the Clones (my sixth) a lot, just not on the same level of the other four. I like the Ewoks. Maybe, it was just being born at the right time to like them, but I enjoy the fuzzy, little guys.

Return of the Jedi. I love that movie even today & watch it atleast once every month. Revenge of the Sith is at a close second place.

Return of the Jedi is my childhood favorite, but lately I have been watching the hell out of Empire...So I voted for Empire...

I'm also in the minority camp when it comes to the prequels: I LIKE THEM ALL!
