Brimstone's Original and redesigned characters

With so many new characters appearing lately I thought I would create a thread to showcase and maybe discuss. (some earlier Horde characters can be found in here: http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...d.php?t=141096 )

First up is:

Tank Top: Heroic suit of armour created by former Man-At-Arms and the current captain of the Eternia Police Force Argo, this battle suit is a walking tank with twin plasma cannons on the back that rise up to sit on the shoulders of the battle suit when ready to fire. The suit also has twin blasters mounted on the wrists, these have three settings stun for crowd control, High for use in light battle and Destrucive.
Tank Top also moves on cattapillar tracks mounted under its feet allowing the wearer to move at speed over rough terrain.

Tear-Ful: An evil warrior with a history much like Stinkor, only his power is the ability to create a tear gas like substance that he stores in two tanks on his back. When ready Tear-Ful can fire this gas as pellets through a special device strapped to his wrists, these pellets release the gas upon impact causing his enimies to be temperally blinded allowing Tear-Ful to either attack or flee.

Mercy: A heroic medical robot, created to be a battlefield medic, has become a sort of love intrest for Roboto who being unaccustomed to having such feelings is sometime overprotective of her during battle.

The Beserker: (Originally created by Mercury) The Beserker is probally the most powerful warrior on Eternia. During the era of King Grayskull The Beserker ruled most of Preternia with an iron fist, feeding off the lifeforce of the most powerful foes he defeated it was only a matter of time he sought out the power of King Grayskull. In a fierce battle where King Grayskull almost fell the Council of Eternia banished The Beserker to the center of Eternia where he was bound at the feet of Procrustus for eternity. However cernturies later The Berserker has freed himself and continues to hunt for the power of Grayskull which now resides in He-man.

Grim-Lock: (Not to be confused with a certain Robot in Disguise) Grim-Lock is Hordak's chief prison warden within the Fright Zone. Constantly at odds with everyone including Hordak at times the only thing that seems to make Grim-Lock happy is the fact that his prisoners are in a much worse situation than himself.

Spinister

Having recreated the technology that created Rotar and Twistoid Skeletor ordered his master inventors Tri-Klops and Trap Jaw to come up with more warriors the first of which would become Spinister a viscious former criminal who has four weapon tipped arms that spin in different directions.

Very nice character brim he looks badass.

This is Great Brimstone. It's cool to have them all in one place. Keep them coming. I know you have much more great characters.

Great characters and I love the pictures. Tank Top is fantastic and kinda reminds me of a Hulkbuster version of MAA.

Berserker is really cool as well and reminds me of a character i created. His entrapment for centuries is somewhat reminiscent of Prometheus' being chained for giving fire to humanity, but minus the torture.

I definitely think you need to change Spinster's name. He sounds like an old unmarried woman. Might be better to change it to Spinstor, keeps it more in line with MOTU naming conventions and there is less room for comparing him to a depressing old woman.

I did indeed use the Hulkbuster Iron Man as my insperation for Tank Top.
The backstory for Beserker is more of my take on the Death of Superman story where Beserker would be a Eternian version of Doomsday.
Spinister's name was ment to be a twist(no pun intended) on Mr Sinister's name and the original version of the character was intended to be a foe for Sy-Klone only I didn't like how the character turned out. Though I do agree that changing the the name to Spinistor does make it more MOTU.

Now on to some more characters:

Four-Head: Heroic military commander.
Four-Head as the name suggests has four heads each give him a different abillitys: Combat stratergy, Flight combat skills, Weapons skills and unarmed combat.

Blaster: Officer of the Starband Marshalls.
Not to be confused with Blaster from the UK classic comics, Blaster is an officer of the Starband Marshalls (The inter-galactic police force) with a hot temper and a deadly shot, she has been teamed up with Rio-Blast (Spoilers for those reading Eternia: The Dark Years)who has been working with the Marshalls for five years in the hopes that his years of experiance will produce a better officer.

Liking the ideas Brimstone. Mercy intrigues me, but I'm not sure about the name.

Grim-Lock is also a great idea, and I think he'd go great as a partner to Doompuppet's Bad-Lock. My only worry is that his name is like the Transformer. How about Dead-Lock...Mat-Lock (Just kidding)...hmmm Dread-Lock?

Dread-Lock would be a perfect name, it wouldn't change the characters personality maybe it would enhance it after all.
Grim-Lock was always a throw away name as I originally had an idea about seeing what other characters from elsewhere would be like in the MOTU universe.

hmm... i am not nuts about the name "Dread Lock". It sounds a lot like the name of an "evil Jamaican horde member".

Doesn't really roll off the tongue, but take off the Grim and you have Enslavor... that could work too.

Yeah, I agree. That sounds pretty good to me. Or Jailor, if that hasn't been taken *although Enslavor sounds better to me*

How did I miss this thread?!?! These are great!

Brimstone, you have a great big imagination, but I find myself wondering, what is the point of some of these characters? Why do we need Four faces when we have man-e-faces? Why another Eternian Princess, when we have She-Ra? Why would He-Man need armor? (or maybe I just missed the point of that one entirely)

I'm not against updating old characters, but I just don't understand some of your new ones. They seem totally unnecessary to the line.

Tank Top, Mer-Der and Spinister are my favorites. To me they have the MOTU feel. Your art is also very good!

A suggestion for Four-Head (great name by the way), besides having different abilities (I'd even dress them up a little bit more), how about different personalities?

For instance, we all love Man-E-Faces. Each face grants him very different 'powers' (though at times it usually appears to be nothing more than mind over matter), but he it is still the same mind.

What if Four-Head had four completely different minds? One highly brave and proud, perhaps one more selfish and trecherous. Another could be cold, almost emotionless, and the other spineless and obediant, willing to do anything his master commanded.

Thanks for the comments, I like that idea for Four-Head so I'm going to redesign him as evil character. Who should he work for Skeletor or Hordak?

Tangleweed:
Tangelweed is a plant based lifeform that travels through space in her seed like ship (It has no engines above thrusters for guidance. It travels by sola winds. When she discovers a planet high in plant life she crashes her ship in to the planet surface.
Once leaving her ship Tangelweed will then devour all the planet's plantlife leaving a lifeless husk of a planet. She then sets off a device which will cause the planet to explode. Then she will wait in her seed ship until she finds another planet to feed off.
She arrived on Eternia after she escaped the Prison Star.

Cutthroat: Evil Pirate of the Eternian Seas:
Long before Keldor became Skeletor, Keldor wandered Eternia gathering his evil forces. One such warrior was Cutthroat. Cutthroat earned a place beside Keldor after he betrayed his former captain in order to aid Keldor in gaining the sevices of Ninjor of An Wat Gar.

Mercury:
Not long after the Dark Years on Eternia a young Hen-Ree discovered Man-At-Arms store of prototype weapons. One of these new weapons was a suit of battle armor that once activated would encase the Hen-Ree in an shell of mercury like metal, this metal could take on the abilities and apperance of any warrior programmed in to it

Evil Horde insect warrior. From the same species as Mantenna. His power apart from being ugly is to vomit at enemies much like a fly.

Evil Horde warrior. From the same species as Mosquitor. His powers are the abilty to shoot razor sharp needels at his enemies. These needels are coated with toxins which Needlenose can create within his stomach, these toxins range from sleep to death.

Lord Nekros A character I've come up with for an upcoming fan fic called The Haunting of Grayskull Tower. This is his human version as he was originally imprisoned within Grayskull tower by King Grayskull himself. Centuries later after the Towers of Eternia returned to the surface of Eternia Nekros broke free. I'll post a full profile soon.
