Make up and wardrobe would be my guess. They can turn any actor into pretty much any age/give them any look they want nowadays. There are loads of films where one actor plays several completely unrelated roles. Having one guy play both Adam and He-man shouldn't be difficult at all.

They could go the whole hog and make them look like two completely different people. It's not so much a question of if it can be done, as much as it is do people want it to be done. And that opinion is split down the middle!

I like the idea of two actors. i just hope an effort is made to make Adam likeable. MYP Adam was obviously not pretending to be the jerk/idiot Prince that filmation Adam was.

However on the other side of the coin, I think you would save a lot of screen time and could do more with other characters by not having the Adam/He-man dynamic like the first film.

If they have to make it with actors and not CGI, make it the same actor but use your brains to make it work. Which means actually finding a good actor

Yes, though I am not sure how exactly. Film Adam shots with him leaner, then work him out hard for 3 months then file the He-Man scenes buff.

i vote no. look, we're dealing with magic here- is it too farfetched to say that maybe the power of grayskull could cloud the minds of he-man's friends and prevent them from making the connection that he and adam are the same person despite looking alike

I voted NO because I prefer the Filmation Prince Adam over the teen Prince Adam from MYP. To me part of the humor of the series is how nobody can guess that He-Man and Prince Adam are the same person. It is an inside gag. The more obvious the similarities are between the two the funnier the joke is. Adam should have huge muscles too just as He-Man does only Adam is a clumsy doofus.

Adam is the male version of the Pretty Ugly Girl trope.

What needs to be made clear in the movie is that Prince Adam doesn't have any super powers on his own. This may seem obvious to us but it not clear to the general public. No sword = no He-Man.

Different actors, or at least make the same actor looking different in the transition from Adam to He-Man, kind like they did with Chris Evans as Steve Rodgers in Captain America. Adam would be better if he looks a bit less muscular, shorter, or with shorter hair, in a way that couldn't be associated with He-Man. Otherwise the word "transformation" wouldn't have any meaning or credibility at all (which means literally changing from one form to another). It would be just "changing into furry underwear" kind of thing. This of course if Adam has a secret identity. If he hasn't, the transformation could be shown as some kind of "empowerment". At any case the transformation for being credible, should have Adam and He-Man visually looking different at a certain degree.

    You are very right .
Adam has a quick transformation that should be visually obvious.
I would add that Adora slowly becomes She-Ra, its a learning experience and development of her power.
(so in my book she would be the same actress)

I voted for two actors as well, and I agree with the above comment.

I think Dylan Minnette, who starred in Goosebumps, could be a good choice for a young Prince Adam.

This could be to enlighten viewers that no matter how muscular you are, that strength you have will only get you so far as it is mortal strength. But when he becomes He Man he gains immortal strength, speed and agility which elevates him to a higher level of combat etc...
I like how you put this. I agree completely about the muscles. There is that point where the strength comes from a different source than physical muscles. Much l like I've always said about Superman. Bat man should be super jacked but superman should be a normal guy. It's not his muscles that make him strong, it's his alien physiology.

It would be cool to make that specifically depicted.

All the Superman films pulled it off with one actor and with today's make-up, special effects, and graphics, it'd be no problem. They are the same person in the story so it's really one character; it would be foolish to not have the same actor play (Adam/He-Man).

I prefer the 200x narrative where He-Man and Adam differ significantly - physically - although thry could always do wahat they did in Captain America, shrink down the actor before his transformation.

But I’d prefer He-Man not to just be Adam with his shirt off.

I have to agree... i rather have the adam/he man be like clark/ superman and not ala billy batson/ capt.marvel shazam of 200x.
