I don't have one, but I think it would make a good thread... Realistic stuff. no anime or mcfarlane ripoff stuff like 90% of every thing else there is..

Realistic artwork of your ideas for costumes, color edits and that kind of thing.

I am gonna have to disagre with you guys. We shouldn't forget that this movie is aimed at kids too and I definately wouldn't take my kid to watch somethin that looks so scary and violent.
My vote goes to the person who manages to find a happy medium between what long time fans want and what kids would like to see.

WHat long time fans want is something that has elements from the classic series. Seriousness, and at same time some of the cool humor that is used at times, and yes there has to be the occasional Skeletor insult at to the likes of Beastman and Trap Jaw

As for what the kids of today would like to see, who knows. It be easier just to concentrate on making the movie for the older generation

I really don't understand some adults thinking the kids wont like a scary Skeletor. Hey, haven't they made Predator and Alien toys? Now those are adult movies if ever I saw them. Kids seem to still like them though, and that's despite the films being full of mutilations. As Jack Nicholson said, the more you scare 'em, the more they love it!

Kids today suck. If kids ran toys back in the day, the rocket fireing Boba Fett would have been the last toy ever.

Well the ups and downs with concept art is that not every little detail will go into the final product. The concept art is more of a guideline.

It's not the kids who're to blame but rather the sap adults who underestimate kids' liking for the gruesome and grim.

I'd be careful not to make the movie too hokey. I think it should have a feel similar to pirates of the Caribean... not anything like it of course, just the same amount of action mixed with fantasy and a little comedy. Some of things in that movie are pretty scary looking and they aimed that for kids... not young kids.

No, more like the LOTR films.

Actually, it depends on the kids. I have 24 cousins and most of them are under the age of 15 and though they find scary cool, it is the degree of scariness that also matters. Some scary things they find gross or irritatin because they are far-fetched...
It just has to do with a kid's family and social background, I believe...

As I said it has to do with how a kid is raised.

Thanks for the pics and the info Jeremy. I am not very crazy about that Skeletor either. Skeletor's face should definately look like a human skull but I don't like these red eyes, they are way too underworldly. I 'd keep the cape though, but it shouldn't cover his whole body.

Definately not too hokey but for me the movies who combined these two elements perfectly are the Harry Potter ones. I never read a Harry Potter book, I thought they were too childish but one day I went to see the first movie and I liked it. Now, I get to watch every HP movie that comes out.

And I forgot to say that I hate the 4H designs..

The Four Horsemen perfectly capture the essence of MOTU to me. I can never get over how people would dislike their designs. I mean they are the same designs just a little more detailed. I don't get it.

I'd like to sketch up some of my designs and post them here. I'm sure they'll get shot down because they go much further than the 4H ever would... I think I'm becoming a heretic to the purists on here.

A lich is going to be pretty scary in live-action to younger kids unless you make him dreadfully cheesy.

And Skeletor is simply not Skeletor if he's not a lich.

I completely agree with Dr. Evil on this Skeletor design. They certainly could do a lot worse.

Don't worry, Maryliz... I think that most kids can handle a live-action lich.

Sincerely, if Motu was to be all about the 4H designs then there's no way I d ever like MotU But really, it's all about personal taste.

I never said the opposite. I don't want something cheesy but it doesn't have to be something very violent or aggressive either. Live action doesn't mean necessarily one or the other.

I don't like their Sorceress (The wings sprouting from her back made her look freakish, IMO.)
