wow.. Great fisto.. The realistically sized FIST is cool too... Maybe he could be like a Heroic BlackSmith, Master of Armorcraft.. Like he makes armor for the Royal Guard and custom did the Glove form himself.. Or maybe lost his original hand in a battle with Skeletor. neat
Thanks for the comments on Fisto. I see his fist being mechanical but not necessarily robotic. I thought it would function by some crude prosthetic mechanism. So he can use it as a hand it's just not very articulate.
and on to the main man...
I hope my sketches demonstrate how little some of these designs need to change to be feasible for live action. Just make them practical and add a little extra detail and they work fine.

I like He-man but I don't think you moviefied him enough.
He needs way more stuff on those furries and the harness needs to be bigger I think.
I like the lighting effect on the harness. It could be nice for the transformation scene, and/or when He-Man uses his sword to do something extra special (like, say, channel lightning).

I loved your Fisto Battle Brak but He-Man is bit like Conan. I like that you kinda kept the old chest plate though!![]()

Conan, what?? It just looks exactly like a normal He-Man!
I gotta agree. That's a perfect rendition of a realistic He Man. If they can make him look like this in the movie, then I say bring it on! Hey Brak, you should do Skeletor next. Your work is unbelievably good man. You kick ass!!!
Kinda looks not too far off this...

Now Let me return the favor..... By DESTROYING YOU!!!!!
I usually don't like the look of the classic sword, even though I liked the new one even less, but I gotta say that BB's rendition of it is pretty damn good.
New Sword vs Classic Sword.
Classic.
I never said I was crazy about the origin of MotU. The fact that the toyline was originally based on Conan doesn't mean that He-Man should be just like Conan. They do have similarities indeed and this cannot be denied but He-Man acquired an identity different from Conan's in time, I believe.![]()

He-man looking like Conan is something yer gonna have to deal with Vega. It's just unavoidable fact!
Do you know how man blonde barbarian heroes were out there in the late 70's and early 80's? Well, there was quite a few and they (including He-man) all stemed from Conan.![]()
I'm sorry you dislike the design, but like others have stated He-Man looks like Conan, period. Aside from straying far from the original design there's not much to do about that. Any realistic interpretation of He-Man is going to look a bit like Conan.
mermaidliz is right. He looks a lot like Conan. However, I'd argue that he looks as much like Conan as any other rendition of He-Man does(NA excluded).

Battle Brak!
I'm loving your art nowadays!!!
My suggestions for the Movie concept He-Man.
I can see why the '87 movie put shoulder armor and a cape on He-Man. For screen presence, it just makes a big guy bigger, and He-Man for the screen will need to be pretty big.
That was actually something I liked about the '87 movie was the fact that He-Man had a cape and shoulder armor. *shrugs*
For the movie, would he need it all the time? No. But it does add to his physique. Just being realistic here, I doubt we can find an actor that will be as big as He-Man should be... I could be wrong, but his costuming will need to add to his size I think somehow.
See, in toys and drawings of He-Man, it's a simple thing to extend his clavicles out at nearly double length to make a man look wide, heroic and powerful. But in real life, when a guy lifts and gets huge... his clavicles don't extend, so his size is based on muscle thickness alone... Which, don't get me wrong, is big, but that's why so few people actually look like toys or heroic drawings. (That's just one example, we could also get into head size and height too.)
Shoulder armor helps widen a hero.
Just my ten cents there.![]()

I liked the shoulder pads too but as it seems the movie makers are avoiding anything to do with the 87 movie, I reckon pads are out.
I'd like the new He-man to be as close to the original as possible.
You remember Beana, the a assessorising on those old movie concept paintings?! Well that's that I reckon should happen. Keep the basic design but just layer it up with loads of bit and bobs. You could also give him a furry and red cloak like King Greyskull.
I wish I had the time to have my crack at a movie design of He-man!!
