MotU Redesign Challenge #76 - LIGHT HOPE

AYE! The time has finally come for a time-honored tradition to return to the honored halls of He-man.org - the Redesign challenge!

Up this month is a character shrouded in nigh-eternal mystery, LIGHT HOPE.

He is a magical male entity that acts as a guide and mentor for She-Ra, much in the same way that the Sorceress fills that position for He-man.

Some fans have in the past theorized that he and Crystal Castle is the source of the powers that She-Ra posses outside of the ones that He-man has too.

You'd think you'd all know the rules by now , but.. : All people who choose to participate will have two weeks to come up with a redesign for Light Hope. You can use any medium you wish. You can sketch, paint make a 3-D model, make a sprite, make a custom action figure, whatever you want. Its entirely up to you!

As well, you don't have to force yourself to make your design conform to the new or old cartoon or comic book's style. Be as drastic in your redesign as you see fit. Whatever makes you happy.

If you can't think of a new design, or just hate the idea of working on this character, you do not have to feel obligated to participate in this particular challenge. You will still be free to participate in any future challenges you wish.

He doesn't actually have to be a beam of light... He could be whatever you immagine a revamped version of She-Ra's mentor to look like.

They say maybe he was created by the elders of Etheria & Eternia, was he a man once? Is he one of the elders? U tell me.

Didn't he appear on the Council of Wisdom in an MVC comic? (Don't quote me, but I thought he did have a non speaking role in the comic. Was it confirmed that this was actually Lighthope?)

Another very mysterious member of the council was a stranger believed to be associated with the Sword of Protection mythology. The symbols he wears resemble those seen elsewhere in Eternian history, but mostly in sources that are disputed as apocryphal.

I wouldn't consider this officially entered without the artist permission though.

My quickie is Lighthope the cosmic enforcer.

Whoa dude! That was straight out of the blue! Could you perhaps give us some background-info on what you invision him to be?

Erm...okay.

When the founders of Etheria, called the First Ones, resided in their ancient home "The Crystal Castle" they knew that when they were gone they would have to leave a guardian behind to protect Etheria and their secrets.

So, using an old suit of armor, they infused it with a hefty dose of good magic that brought it too life. The First Ones named this creation Lighthope due to the factit was 1: on the side of good (Light) and it would bring Hope to Etheria in times of need.

Because he is created by magic, Lighthope is an immortal, a brilliant warrior and strategist, a powerful magic wielder, knowledgeable and wise and capable of morphing from a beam of multi-colored light into his armor-body form. He also emits a colored smoke like effect when he is using his magic

Now several thousand years later, Lighthope resides in his home The Crystal Castle, where he uses his wisdom and magic to help and guide the new hero of Etheria...She-Ra. He only takes an active role in the fighting if there is simply no other choice


Oh and I decided to improve my pic slightly so here is the better version.

That drawing of mine is of a character from the comics designed by Emiliano, so I can't take credit for it. Also I don't think it's Light Hope. I have a design (actually intended for BoE) that I might try to finish, but this is a very busy two weeks for me.

Doesn't have to be so polished mate, if you make it, you can just post something that makes the basic design clearly visible, you can always do a more polished piece for BoE.

I agree with u but i think there is more to come. Wolfsfang skaldor is skaldor and not light hope.
