often people ask us if we need fodder figures or if there is someway they can help out the COTU...well, now that time has come as we are starting our classic fodder figure donation drive(say that five times fast) to give he-fans an opportunity to give a little and help alot!!!
when i started this molding/casting quest one of the first thing i did was build up a large pile of fodder figures because as some of you know we use original leg "bands", power punch springs, and other original parts in our custom cast creations...after a year or so of producing awesome figures our fodder reserves are getting VERY, VERY low and that is where YOU come in...
given the popularity of classic MOTU there were ALOT of figures produced and thankfully ALOT of them got the heck played out of them by kids of the time...flash forward to now and that means there are ALOT of well worn figures that aren't worth much of anything to collectors because of paint rubs, damage, lack of stickers, lack of accessories, etc...well, those "worthless" figures are worth something to us as they allow us to bring new figures and characters to life!!!
in general we can use ANY fodder figure that has a leg "band" or power punch spring, but of particular interest to us are: FAKER, SKELETOR, ZODAC, TRIKLOPS, FISTO, JISTU, TWO-BAD, & ORKO...
a good example of the potential of our approach is this Keldor figure:
he was actually constructed from THREE seperate "worthless" well played figures: the torso and waist came from a SKELETOR(with head and arm chews), the arms from a FAKER(with broken waist, and chewed foot), and the legs from another FAKER(who was missing an arm and who nose was chewed/ripped off)...
three dead end lot fodder figures being reborn into a new piece of art...makes me all "gooey" inside...
