My take is that this is soon before she goes over to Hordak. She wears robes that mostly cover anything illicit she might have gained in her quest for power (tainted magic items, dark ritual tattoos, etc).

    Anyway, that's what I got.

Edit: I have replaced the line work with the colored version. I hope to get some more detail pics added, but who knows what time will bring!
Could you post a link to your image outside the Org? Cause I can't see it

Sorry! I had tried posting it, then removing the attachment, and I could still see the pic, so I thought it was still there, but then when I went back I couldn't see it anymore, so I re-attached it ... hopefully folks can see it now?

Anyway, it's my first attempt at using the computer to color my work. I used Microsoft Paint. Yeah. The freebie "art program" that comes with the computer. It was SOOOO tedious, but I don't hate the results, so I guess it'll work for now.

Great work for MSPaint, mate. BUT... MSPaint is the work of the devil..!!

Therefore, I will give you some alternatives. ^^

I gotta admit, Moni & j-bird's takes on this character are pretty cool! That is one of Moni's best artwork's yet!!

I like how there is an over all Harem-Girl feel to some of these designs... nice work my friends!

Here's my take on Light Spinner, (I did Casta... so I figured I had to do her friend & rival )... complete with bio!!

Enjoy! And I always appreciate feedback!!

I like the bios you add, Jafari, and the piece is very well done. I like Casta's better tho. Redheads rule

Jafari: The bio is a really great touch and her face and hair remind me of Rikku from Final Fantasy X\X-2.

Do we have a cutoff date set yet? I am about 50 percent done with mine.

    Jafari, great bio as usual.

Hey Thanks OP! Yeah I figure if the bio can give a little extra zing & make the character believable for me, then it will for other people too. I like my Casta design as well & I appreciate you saying that... I tried to make her a "sincere pretty" ...but for Spinner, I needed for her to have a little "edge"... & as for redheads vs blondes... I am torn!!

Thanks YH! Glad you liked the bio too... I really liked the yellow/brown contrast on yours, made her feel very elemental & exotic!!
The design for her came to me at work, & I was actually thinking more along the lines of "Burst Angel", as you can see, anime/videogames/manga does have some pull on my design asthetic, particularly years ago, & still always creeps in today! I have been a big anime fan for a long long time, so it will always be an influence to me.
When I was designing her color scheme, Riku came to my mind too, as FF has some minor pull on me, but it was a non-intentional, more "after the fact," & I think it's cool you picked up on the same thing I did... It's that wiley blonde hair, & Riku is adorable so I take that as a big compliment! I love that design!

Thanks Patreek, looking forward to what you bring to the table... I would think this weekend would be the deadline for this challenge, as it's usually like 2 weeks...

Dude, you've scored big time with this. I especially like the magical runes carved in her skin angle, nice touch. Also diggin the pose.

If the end date is after Xmas, I should have my entry. I'm suffering a non-drawing week at the moment which has me frustrated.

Aaaah that's what that is! I was wondering what they were!
I just thought the jpeg was a little messed up or something!
    What's wrong with me today!!

She looks lovely JafariStew! may wanna make the runes a little bigger though!

Yaoi HuntressE: i like that you went with gold as her primary color--it really sets your entry apart. the gypsy-like details of her veil and blouse are great.
Avril: looks like we had the same idea about giving her dress slits so that she'd have more mobility.
THE RAW: check out the bod on that one... yowza! all kidding aside, i really like how her staff has a loom-motif, very appropriate considering both of the character's names.
j-bird: fantastic! very elegant... the use of white in her gown is very striking in combination with the gold and deep red. i love it!
Monikasvo: the transparency effects look wonderful, as does the anti-casta spell-disc. her pose is very natural-looking, and her eyes are alluring. great work!
JafariStew: very cool! between this and your castaspella design, i can totally envision a Jafari-made "etheria: the teen years" setting. i love her hair and the distressed/frayed edges of her scarf and skirt.

    here's mine:

I wasn't too drastic with my design--I basically just combined her cartoon and comic appearances, and tried coloring her so that she wouldn't come out looking completely like Dree Elle.

Man Bootleg, I totally like yours.

Here's mine. I was playing around with photoshop, it's a bit rushed.

Ok, so I downloaded a trial version of Photoshop and recolored her ...

Looking at it myself, I'm not entirely sure it was worth the effort (i.e. the difference between it and the previous version isn't that great), but it was certainly helpful in learning about Photoshop ... at least the basics.

As a sidenote, "inking" with a mouse SUCKS.

Bootleg: Maybe Lightspinner IS Dree Elle ... maybe I should do a different entry ...

Cool designs so far. Here is the ink... no color yet. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have time to color her.
