Here is the sketch and the background for a character I have rolling around my head.
Dee-Range Evil Master of ranged weapons
This is the tale of Dee and the Eternian Well of Dreams. The well itself had always been fabled on Eternia as being able to grant the wishes and dreams of anyone who tossed anything of great value to them into the well... The wishes however always turned out to twist and destroy the poor Eternia people's dreams. Those who wished for fortune received it at the cost of whatever they held most dear. Those seeking power would be overcome by the powers and it would destroy them. Few lived through the wish... and those that did were changed forever... but what happens when a desperate man has only one thing of value left in his life... and it is taken by a horrible illness?
The man having nothing to lose fought his way through the darkest areas of Eternia clutching the lifeless body of his daughter Dee. For days he traveled never once stopping to rest. When at last he reached his destination he read the markings on the side of the well. It simply said "careful what you wish for". The man thought hard about what he was about to do and at long last tossed his daughter into the well and made his wish. "Please Well, give my daughter back to me... make her live once again!"
His wishes were heard by the well and it lit with a bright glow. The girl’s body rose from the well, high into the air. The girls eyes shot open and she screamed a deafening howl. Her body contorted and her bones began to crack... She was no longer the pretty young girl her father had known, but was now deformed beyond recognition.
The man feared what others would think of his deformed daughter so he raised her alone, deep in the woods of Eternia. It wasn't long after the girl’s resurrection that the man passed away from the very same illness that had taken his daughter. Alone in the woods the young girl discovered the reason for her deformed appearance... Under the surface of her skin quills had formed. These spikes broke free and much to her surprise they didn't hurt her. Infact they helped her... when attacked by predators the quills would break off into them, causing them to run in pain and fear. As time went on she learned that she could pull these spikes from her body and they would regrow. She used these quills to hunt for food and defend herself against the wild.
After a short time alone the girl heard a hunting party traveling through her woods. She hid in the bushes and watched them cautiously... it was at this time that one of the hunters spotted her spiky body and shot an arrow at her, mistaking her for an Enternian Porcupine who's meat is considered a great delicacy in the surrounding villages. The arrow struck the girl and in self defense she threw her arms out towards him. The quills on her arms shot forth and pierced the man's body killing him where he stood.
The other hunters ran in fear and told the tale of the deranged porcupine girl in the woods. Most people laughed it off as a drunken hunting party seeing things... Others believed the story and from time to time would try to get a look at the girl... this scared the girl very badly and she became very good at hiding amongst the trees and bushes.
She used the dead hunters bow as her own. It wasn't long before she discovered that she could pull the quills from her body and shoot them like an arrow. After years of practice she became deadly accurate.
One day when she was practicing a doom seeker entered the woods and captured footage of the wild girl pulling the quills from her body and launching them at multiple targets at once. Skeletor sought the girl out and his evil warriors captured her.
It's amazing what a wild animal will do for a free meal. IN return for her services, as the warrior Dee-Range, at Skeletor's side he simply gives her warm shelter and scraps of food.
