OK this is May-Lay. The sketch I was going for an uppercut pose... she looks like she is flying though... oh well... ran out of room on the page too... wanted to do more of an effect around the fist.
May was considered a special young woman in her village. Always at the top of her class, always ready to take on a new challenge. It was hoped by her people that she would some day be the one to bring peace to the realm of Despondos. Her village had the misfortune of being in a land known as Despondos... it was basically a dumping ground by other realms for the worst of the worse.
It didn't start out that way... infact it was once a thriving peaceful place. They had never heard of war or greed... that is of course until the Horde arrived during a festival that was held every year to bring rains to their crops.
During the festival the crowd rejoiced as the sky began to get cloudy and a giant purple ring appeared above them. They thought this was the god's answering their requests... that is of course until Hordak and his minion rained down upon them instead of liquid.
Hordak laid siege to the land and claimed it as his own, until he could one day return to Eternia take it back.
The villages were easily overpowered... they had no needs for fighting or weapons before this day. They became the slaves of the horde. Growing food for their armies and forging weapons for them.
The villagers obeyed and followed blindly out of fear... well all but one that is. A young woman named May. May was the book wise free spirit of the community. She read of diplomacy and thought she could reason with Hordak.
She approached him during one of his many visits and told him there are other ways to live. Hordak laughed and raised his hand to her, as if to smack her... but to his surprise she didn't flinch like the other villagers.
Hordak quickly realized that this young woman could be trouble for him... he didn't want a rebellion on his hands, so he sent her to Modulok and shadow weaver to see what could be done about this.
She was placed under a spell by Shadow Weaver. The spell reversed her entire personality. Everything she loved before, she now hated... everything she held dear to her, was nothing to her anymore. Were as once she was a fun loving free spirit she was now an emotionless cold hearted killer. Modulok implanted several pieces of machinery through out her body which replaced her living organs. His goal was to make her the most hardcore warrior the world had ever seen.
When all was said and done May was no more. She was now known as May-Lay the Destroyer. May had the ability to generate force fields around her hands for her to hit with. These gave her the ability to hit harder than anyone before her.
Hordak quickly turned his possible rebellion around, by transforming the poor young girl and sending her back into the village to destroy it. No one in Despondos would dare appose the Horde again as long as they remained in the realm.
