    MOTU in NYC?

Hey, New Yorkers, I need your help. I'll be visiting NY in July, and am looking forward to it. Can you recommend some MOTU related places I could check out? Any shops or even markets where I might come across MOTU items from whatever era? Toys (old and new), merchandise, comics, magazines...

I beleive its called Love Saves the Day. Its more along the lines of a vintage shop. They have a bunch of toys from the 70's/80's/90's to present. I'm sure you'll like it.

There is also a comic store not too far from there, about a block or two. I forgot the name but they have some toys, few of which are vintage but still, I nice place to stop by given the close proximity.

I've been to two comic shops in NY. I'd need my handy little fold out map I got at the ESB to get a better perspective. I remember there was a two-story one about two or three blocks down from Times Square. If you go to the Paramount building where WWF New York used to be, it's on that side. From that location, I'd say you're just a few minutes away from it.

There's another one that's not too far from a PB & J sandwich restaurant in Greenwich Village. There were tons of comics and posters there, and I seriously came close to dropping $120 on a painted Tyler Durden vinyl model in that store.

I got my Battle Cat in 2002 at FAO Schwartz next to Trump Plaza. Just go to that store period! It's around where the Central Park Zoo is if I'm not mistaken.

There's a shop in Greenwich Village called Mxyzptlk, and I was mislead by an Internet directory for NY. It's a furniture store! Unless you're looking for some Ikea lamps or something, don't even bother.

I also recommend visiting Toys 'R' Us (DUH!), Planet Hollywood (another DUH!), Jekyll & Hyde restaurant and pub, and the Canal Street markets. In fact, you might see about buying a bootleg copy of "The Dark Knight" if you're going to be there around the right time. VHS normally run around $5 and DVDs $10. I'd play it safe with a VHS because the bootleg DVD I bought screwed up towards the end. Also, some of those Canal Street merchants won't sell anything unless you haggle with them. So, don't be afraid to ask for it at a cheaper price.

I can honestly say I didn't want to leave the two times that I went. It's an amazing experience. Have a fun trip!
I make my own MOTU video game stuff. Check it out.

The comic shop near times square you mentioned is called Midtown Comics, there is another one near grand central station but the one in TS is best. Also forbidden planet is a great store and its in Union Square area.

If you want another kinda geeky place to go check out the restaurant Mars 2112. Its a theme restaurant and you take flight simulator (an old one!!!) to mars and when you get out you are there.
